WHAT FOR MUSHROOMS ON A WALNUT?
On my walnut in a fork between two trunks some yellowish mushrooms grew.
I deleted them, but I don’t know what to do next. Will a tree survive after “settling” such intruders? What needs to be done to restore his health?

It all starts with an injury
First of all, remember: were there any damages to the tree in the place where the mushrooms were found? Often, gardeners do not notice, for example, frost pits, which later become a hotbed of various infections, are populated by pests, the most insidious of which are ants. They arrange their nests in such problem areas, for which they expand the cracks. Wood becomes rotten and populated by mycelium of mushrooms.
This is said so that gardeners can take preventative measures in time: cure the affected tree in order to prevent its further destruction from the slow but destructive effect of mushrooms. For 6-8 years from the moment of their discovery, garden culture can completely disappear if protective measures are not taken.
Mushrooms - Walnut lover
On walnut trees are most often settled parasite mushroom scaly tinderalso called bunny, elm or pestle. Its fruiting body may appear from May to September. He is a relative of the well-known "wooden" mushroom, which can often be seen on birches.
In contrast, the hare at a young age, the flesh is quite soft, like a honey agaric. It easily breaks off from the edges, but with age it becomes more dense, like a cork, so it is not possible to pinch off easily. The hat of this parasite mushroom is white or cream in color, darker scales are scattered on it. The diameter of the fruiting body can reach 40 cm with a thickness of 0,5-6 cm. It rests on a stem, which can have 8 lengths up to 8, and in diameter up to 4 cm. Its color is the same as the hat, only below, at the very base she is much darker.
Scaly tinder fungus can also be found in the wild, where it lives on broad-leaved trees - elms, willows, beeches, maples, lindens, and even on bushes. True, it is distributed mainly in the southern regions, but practically does not occur in the middle lane. Although due to climate change, the fungus may not move north, at least there is already information about its appearance in Belarus.
