Valeriana Chereda Devyasil and the Cinquefoil: benefit
People have long noticed the healing qualities that TC or other plants possess. Healing plants were used to heal patients in ancient Egypt, in ancient China and other states. The healing qualities of plants have been repeatedly described in herbalists. The first Russian herbalist was published in 1588 year, and already in the 17 century in Moscow, targeted cultivation of medicinal plants in pharmacy gardens was organized.
It is established that curative substances in plants are contained in leaves, stems and roots. Collect medicinal plants, usually in the fall.
In autumn, the plants accumulate a maximum of useful substances. When collecting roots and tubers, they must be digged, not pulled, then thoroughly washed. You can not dry plants in the sun, they are dried in the shade, at a temperature no higher than 35 degrees, in ventilated rooms. For well-studied medicinal plants, the technology of growing, harvesting and application has been developed.
For example, in Europe, is widely used and applied Valerian officinalis.

Alternate use and cultivation
Many had to use herbal remedies to treat certain diseases. True, often people doubt the quality and effectiveness of purchased herbal remedies. However, it is difficult to collect wild herbs themselves - firstly, few people are well versed in them, there is a high risk of confusing plants, and secondly, it is not easy to find an unpolluted area where you can prepare environmentally friendly raw materials. What to do? And everything is simple - medicinal plants can be grown in the country! And today we will talk about how to grow such a useful plant as a succession.
Sowing in October
To grow a string is quite simple - from seeds. However, it should be borne in mind that only one cultivar is a medicinal plant - a three-part series. All other varieties are applicable only as ornamental plants. A series is an unpretentious plant, however, it loves heat and moisture. Therefore, for landing, you should choose a well-drained sunny area. It is better to sow in the fall: in October-early November. Be sure to pre-dig the soil and add to it a mixture of 5 kg of manure, 4 g of any mineral fertilizer for every 1 sq. m beds. 2 weeks after digging, make rows with a distance of 50 cm between them. At the same time as sowing the seeds, add granular superphosphate to the rows - 10 g per 1 sq. M. m. Sow should be at a depth of about 3 cm. Then you need to properly water the garden with warm water.
The force of the string in the tops
Caring for the turn is simple enough. After the appearance of the first shoots, it requires regular removal of weeds and loosening of the soil. In the spring it can be fed with nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer at the rate of 25 g per 1 sq. M. m of soil. It should be noted that the turn is already blooming in June, and the fruits appear in July-August. However, the medicinal raw materials of the plant are the tips of the stems with leaves (about 12-15 cm), which must be collected before the flowering begins, that is, during bud formation.
Cut off parts must be dried, spreading a thin layer on paper in a dry attic. Every day you should turn the turn to avoid decaying the lower layers.
No colds, no allergies
The sequence is well known as an antipruritic agent in allergic skin lesions. In fact, its curative effect is much broader. It has urine and sweating effects, anti-inflammatory, bactericidal and wound-healing properties, normalizes the work of the gastrointestinal tract and reduces pressure.
Infusion of succession.
2 st. l. dried chopped string fill with 250 ml of cold water and put on a water bath. Keep on fire for 20 min., Then remove and refrigerate. Ready extract infusion and take 30 ml 3 times a day. This infusion is useful for violations of the gastrointestinal tract, has urine and choleretic effects, soothes, reduces blood pressure. It is taken with symptoms of allergy and bleeding, lung and bronchial diseases.
Broth series.
4 st. l. chopped dried string fill with 0,5 l of water and put on fire. Boil 10-15 min., Then cool and strain. Decoction can be used as a tea (30 ml 3 times a day) for allergies, diathesis, as a diaphoretic and diuretic, and as a sedative. Outer broth can be used for lotions in the presence of allergic rashes and acne on the skin, and as an additive to the bath for bathing small children. Fresh leaves of the string can be applied to poorly healing wounds.
Ointment from the sequence.
Take 250 ml of olive oil and add 3 art. l. shredded dried string. Put in a water bath and cook for 15 min. Then cool and strain. This ointment is useful for skin diseases (acne, acne and diathesis). And also helps to improve the general condition of the skin of the face.

I grow valerian in the garden - a plant with sedative and hypnotic effects.
In March, I sow valerian seeds in cups with a store mix of soil. I cherish and cherish seedlings on the windowsill, water abundantly, because Valerian loves moisture very much. In May, transplanted into the open ground. I chose a place for valerian so that before lunch there was sun, and after lunch - partial shade.
When planting seedlings in the garden, you need to take into account the fact that valerian shrubs can reach up to 120 cm, respectively, plant seedlings need as far as possible from each other-about 90 cm.
The second point is cats. Despite the fact that the bush itself does not spread the smell of valerian, well-known to everyone, it still attracts cats that harm the bushes. I made a “greenhouse” for my bushes from a netting netting.
While valerian is growing, I use only her leaves as an additive in tea. At 2-th year of growth of bushes in the autumn I dig out the largest of them together with the root. I wash it, cut it into small pieces, according to 1-2, see. Then dry in a closed but cool place about 3 months. I keep the roots in the bags. 1 st. l. the roots of valerian pour 1 l boiling water, I insist 8 h, filter and drink on 1 st. l. 2-3 times a day and definitely 1 again before bedtime.

Than nerves will calm down?
My wife and I, like many pensioners, have nerves to hell with. So they decided to heal valerian, allocated a bed for her at the cottage. But valerian is not enough to grow, it is important to properly prepare and preserve it.
We collect the roots of the plant in late autumn. Then they have more nutrients. We dig up adult plants and cut off half with a sharp knife, and in especially large specimens - 2/3 of the roots. After that we return them to their place and water them well. In most cases, they continue to grow.
The collected crusts are thoroughly washed and cut into small pieces, and then we arrange to dry in the air, certainly in the shade. When the rootlets dry, briefly we send them to dry in the oven. On the oven brazier valerian is laid out in a very thin layer.
We store the dried roots in a closed glass jar, which we place in a place inaccessible to the cat. We store no more than 3 years. Then valerian loses a significant part of its beneficial properties.
Before using the roots, always pay attention to the smell. Apart from the smell of the plant, other smells — decay, mold, etc., should not come from a can.

Rhizome is used for medicinal and confectionery purposes in kalgan (cauliflower erect). By the end of August, it is gaining all the active principles and kalgan can be collected. And he blossoms still at this time, which will help you not to confuse him with other lapchatkami: unlike other species, he always has 4 yellow petals in his flower. The rest 5 or other color.

Tell us when it is better to collect kalgan and how can one not confuse it with other lapchatkas?

Pure plot - thanks, valerian!
Valerianka is an excellent means of protecting plants from pests.
It works particularly well on white cabbage. The contents of the vial purchased in the pharmacy must be dissolved in 3 l of water. This liquid is sprayed with young plants, after which they are avoided from setting butterflies-whitecaps. In summer, at the end of July, when the heads start to tie, it is necessary to repeat the treatment. This will provide them with protection right up to harvesting.
