Cultivation of beautiful varieties of daffodils in the country or a site
Narcissus belongs to the family of Amaryllis. Bulbs these plants have a round-pear-shaped form and can be one-, two- or more apical. The roots of the daffodils are perennial, white, threadlike, up to 70 cm long. The leaves are radical, linear, collected in a rosette. They are flat, dense, leathery, with width from 0,5 to 3, see Colorless leafless, from 8 to 60 cm in height. Flowers are single or collected in inflorescences, upright or drooping. They consist of 6 petals with outgrowths in the form of a tube, a cup, a saucer, can be simple or terry. The color of the crown may differ depending on the variety, and the petals are usually painted in yellow or white.
In terms of flowering, all varieties of daffodils are divided into early, medium, medium, medium late, late. They blossom in April-May. Depending on the weather, climatic conditions, the terms of their flowering in different years are shifted to 1-2 weeks. The flowering period of each variety is up to 20 days.
Landing of narcissists
Daffodils grow well in sunlit areas, but they can be planted in partial shade. This culture is suitable for any soil with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction, rich in nutrients. However, since daffodils are hygrophilous, it is preferable to choose loamy soils that better retain moisture.
Planted daffodils in the ground in late September - early October, so that the bulbs could take root before the onset of frost, but did not grow back. The depth of planting depends on the size of the bulbs and the mechanical composition of the soil - it is equal to the triple height of the bulbs and ranges from 10 to 25 cm. On heavy soils, the depth of planting decreases by 2-3 cm, and on the lungs it increases by the same amount. Between the bulbs leave the distance 15-20 cm.
- In prepared and fertilized soil make wells for planting bulbs.
- At the bottom of each fossa pour a little sand, which will perform the role of drainage.
- Plant the plants, placing them at a depth equal to the triple height of the bulbs.
- Place the bulbs in rows, leaving a distance of 15-20 between them.
- Pour in the landing site. But do not over-moisten the soil so that the bulbs do not rot.
- Keep the ground, so the bulbs do not freeze when the temperature drops sharply.
CARE PLANTS
Daffodils need weeding, loosening, fertilizing and watering. During vegetation, easily soluble inorganic fertilizers or well-brewed humus and compost are introduced into the moist soil and then covered with soil. The first feeding is carried out after melting snow т and removing mulch. Use complex mineral fertilizers (sodium, phosphorus, potassium in the norm 2: 1: 1). The second time, the same fertilizers in the norm of 1: 2: 2 are applied during the budding of plants, the third time - after their flowering, in the norm of 1: 1,5: 1,5.
Daffodils - the culture is rather moisture-loving, they need regular watering and loosening of the soil. This is especially necessary during active growth, during budding and flowering, and also during 2-3 weeks after flowering. Also it is necessary to remove the dried flowers, but the leaves are left to dry completely, so that the daffodils will blossom next year.
THE CASE OF NARCISS ON ZIMU
Daffodils - plants are winter-hardy, but in severe snowless winters they can suffer from frost. Also negatively influenced by winter thaws. In this case the plants wake up, grow, and then are damaged by low temperatures. Therefore, planting daffodils should be mulched. They cover the plants when negative temperatures are established and the ground freezes a bit. In the spring, mulch is removed when there are no more frosts.
HANDLING AND STORAGE OF NARCISSES
Transplant daffodils should be when they are very proliferating. The young bulb is gaining full strength to the 3-4 year of life, and then gradually weakens, and the flowering quality is reduced. The optimum period of cultivation of narcissuses in one place is 4-6 years.
Dig up the bulbs in June after yellowing the leaves, but before they completely dried. Bulbs are dried, cleaned from the ground and old roots and stored in a dry ventilated room.
HOW TO BREAK NARCISES?
Daffodils are propagated mainly by daughter bulbs. Do it in the fall. Young plants bloom already in the 1 year.
USING NARCISES IN LANDSCAPE AND LANDSCAPE DESIGN
Low-grown varieties of daffodils look great on alpine hills and in flower gardens with low plants. The taller varieties are planted in curbs and flower beds. Very fine look small groups of daffodils on a lawn or against a background of low soil-cover plants, near reservoirs. These shade-tolerant plants are suitable for placement under deciduous trees. Daffodils perfectly combined with hyacinths, tulips, musky, sparse, primroses, forget-me-nots, pansies, cleanings, etc. They perfectly coexist with astilbe, hosts, peonies, geychers, daylilies, which, growing to fly, mask the yellowed by then foliage of primroses. A good background for daffodils can be evergreen shrubs, conifers. Widely use them for winter distillation.

How to choose the bulbs of daffodils?
#
Needless to say, it is best to purchase such planting material in specialized stores or from trusted suppliers. In this case, you need to pay attention to the size of the bulbs. Indeed, the result depends on the quality of the planting material: will you get a good plant or nothing will grow. What to look for when choosing?
If you purchase very large bulbs, then keep in mind that they will please with beautiful flowers, but after digging, you will need to separate the children from them.
The main thing is that the bulb is healthy. This means: the scales should be dry, golden or brown, without spots, plaque and dents. The fact that everything is in order, says their tight fit.
To the touch, a healthy onion is dense, firm, without an unpleasant odor, and its bottom is dry and without damage.
