Grass or flower gorilla - experience growing and varieties
The mountain is a flower potential, which is practically not disclosed in our flower gardens and gardens.
The Gorianka (Epimedium) belongs to the plant of the Barberry family, the genus includes more than fifty species, which are further subdivided into sections and sub-genera.
The name "grapes" originated from the species described by Pliny and Dioscorides (later by Carl Linnaeus who described the Alpine falcon (Epimedium alpinum).
The mountain is a perennial, a forest plant growing in North Africa, Asia and Europe. One of their main features is an unusual, sprawling horizontally underground root system.
In the flames of the florist can attract without exaggeration everything - both leaves and flowers.
Flowers gorbinki have a bizarre shape and consist of four internal and four outer petals. The outer petals have shportsy (photo).
The color of the flowers of the hills is very bright and varies in different varieties.
To decorate the flower garden, the leaves of the mountain will play no less important role, since they can be evergreen and winter-green (after melting snow some leaves die in some varieties), and, consequently, can decorate the garden all year round.
The variety of forms of leaves is also one of the highlights and advantages of gorillas in front of other perennials - there are heart-shaped and round forms of leaves and a lot of others which the name is hard to find.
In summer, most varieties of wings will please you with the green color of the leaves, in some species, even in summer, leaves with some autumn shade.
Goryanki very well grouped in the flower garden - after all the bushes (or rather, say the bushes) they have dense. Quietly endure even the most severe rains and hail. Long-established hills can gather in such dense carpets that through their plantations do not germinate any weeds. So it is very difficult to produce hot dogs together with other medium-sized perennials - everything else is replaced with time.
For the gardening landscaping use one pleasure. Firstly, they very quickly close a significant area designed to create a green carpet, secondly, their ability to grow in the shade will help you create a "company" of other shade-tolerant plants - host, ornamental grasses, primrose, etc.

When planting a hot dog, be sure to leave some space for growth, for which take into account the size of an adult hot dog.
When planting should be guided by the size of an adult plant and leave some stock "for growth".
Cultivation of withers - creation of conditions and care
The mower in the garden is a very unpretentious plant - its demands for care are modest.
What really needs to be done correctly is to plant them, and maintain at least a year after it.
Planting a hammer is best done in the shade, or in that place on the site where there is a scattered shadow from the trees.
Watering in hot summer, drought is necessary for the fries, but stagnation of water on the site where they are grown are avoided.
Goryanki grow well on loose, well-fertilized and humus-rich soil, best of all on loams.
When planting, do not forget about composting and of course about mulching - remember, because the forest plant is hot.
Reference by topic: Selection of plants for the forest area
For mulching will suit everything that is at hand: crushed bark, chips, leaves. If it is good to cover up the soil under the hills, they will get accustomed and begin to grow very quickly, since for their root system these are the most favorable conditions. In addition, mulching will save your time, because it is one of the effective means of combating weeds.
Planting the hills is best done in the spring. But in principle, if you have planned landing gorodok for the summer or even autumn then and then they will grow well and get accustomed, the main thing is that the winter was snowy, because the plant with a closed root system is hot.
You can buy grapes for spring breeding in the winter, plant them in a pot on the windowsill and grow until the spring transplant into the ground, and you can even "wrap" them with slightly damp moss and put in the fridge before the spring comes.
In the place of origin of the horn, it has both diseases and pests. In our very regions, its leaves are apparently very tough for our insects-almost nobody touches it.
Propagation of a marmot (geranium)
Reproduction of gerbils occurs as seeding of seeds, and division of a bush.
The division of the horns is simple - without digging out the fire, separate any sharp object, even with a shovel, the part of the bush that you need.
With seeds, several hot dogs are more difficult - they lose their similarity after drying, so they should be planted only after harvesting. At once. Therefore, the hills in a well-fertilized garden may well reproduce themselves. In nature, the gill breeds only by cross-pollination, so even in cross-pollination, unexpected hybrids can turn out in the garden, which is only for the florist's benefit.
Cultivation of a hive in a flower garden or a garden has only been practiced for the last 20 years. Varieties of gorillas are very much like their natural forms. In Russia, most varieties in the middle band are either not tested at all, or tested very poorly. Therefore, planting a hot dog in the garden is a kind of Russian roulette, an experiment.

A mountain of reliable grades and species
- Alpine almond (Epimedium alpinum) - the first kind of a horn, described by scientists. Flowers small, not striking. Suitable for planting in large areas, as it grows well.
- The Colchis mountain (Epimedium pinnatum ssp. Colchicum) - well retained in the winter. The flowers of this species are yellow, small, but thick. The root system can grow to 10 centimeters per year. Well tolerates wintering. Close Perhladeri (Epimedium perralderianum) and varieties eg. Frohnleiteri in appearance almost do not differ.
- Red seahorse (Epimedium x rubrum) - a hybrid from the puhonosoy and alpine hogs. It has long been grown in the gardens of Central Russia and the Moscow region, despite the fact that the progenitor (Gorianka puhosnaya) in these places freezes in winter. The flowering is very lush and bright, the leaves are also very beautiful, with peculiar purple veins. It grows slowly (up to five centimeters per year).
- Multicolored moth (Epimedium x versicolor - Sulfurum) - also quite a tested hybrid. Expansion of the order of XNUMx centimeters per year. Flowers are yellow-fawn. Derived varieties from the colorful hills grow well in Russian gardens.
- The Young Mountain or the lush (Epimedium x youngianum) - grow slowly, not more than three centimeters per year. Blossom is magnificent and bright. Landing is recommended to do at a distance of twenty-five to thirty centimeters, since the bushes are very dense. In the middle belt, especially cold and snowless winters can freeze. The most famous varieties are Roseum and Niveum.
- The Warlord (Epimedium x warleyense) - The growth rate is average. Winter hardiness. Flowering orange, very plentiful. Perfect for landscaping the shady corners of your garden. The most famous variety is Orange Konigin (Orange Queen).
- Rootfeed (Epimedium macrorrhizum) - Collectible and very rare gorinka. Fine winter hardiness (other beautiful frost-resistant perennials here). Not tall, but with very large flowers for flowers. Very quickly growing.

HOTEL - GROWING, PLANTING AND CARE, ADVICE AND FEEDBACK FROM FLORAL GROWERS
HOT WOMAN - ELF FLOWER
This unpretentious and exotic-looking plant is called the flower of the elves for a reason. It blooms early, abundantly and elegantly, its height is up to 30 cm. The Horny Goat Weed (Epimudium) can decorate the garden even in winter, since its leaves remain until spring.
A "dry" openwork shade is ideal for a plant - at the foot of trees and bushes. In one place it can grow for many years, forming even dense thickets without bald spots.
BTW
In early spring, it is important to remember to carefully cut the old foliage. When pruning later, there is a risk of damaging densely appearing peduncles.
Do not plant the plant in mulching tissue cuts with pebbles or bark scattered on top, as new shoots will grow under all this shelter, rearing it.
GARDEN CONDITIONS
Horny Goat Weed - a flower from the "planted and forgotten" series. You can transplant or separate a part from the curtain even during flowering.
The soil for it needs a loose, well-permeable, humus-rich, with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction. For example, it is made up of the removed fertile layer of earth, peat, compost, and on heavy soil, you also need to add sand (3: 2: 2: 1).
After planting, they are well watered and the first 2-3 weeks they monitor the moisture in the root zone. If there is no possibility of regular watering, you can cover it with a half of a plastic bottle with an open cork or cover it with a thin non-woven material (lutrasil, spunbond) until the first leaves grow. Overgrown bushes tolerate temporary drought well, but stagnation of water is unacceptable, although mountain women love moisture.
Actually!
Horny Goat Weed seeds can now be sown in a container and left warm for 3 weeks (+ 16-20 degrees). Then send the crops for a month to the refrigerator (+ 2-4 degrees) or under a snowdrift, wrapping the bowl in spunbond. Then they are germinated indoors on the windowsill.

Liverwort blooms in my garden. hellebores and small-bulbous pick up charming Goryanka. One of my favorites is Goryanka Warli Orange Konigin.
This is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial, reaching a height of 30-40 cm during flowering. It blooms from spring (mid-May) to early summer. Flowers with an unusual copper-orange color of the petals grow up to 1,5 cm in diameter. The evergreen foliage has a beautiful, serrated edge. By the way, in autumn the leaves acquire an attractive reddish hue. The bush grows quite quickly.
Flower Preferences
In nature, Goryanka Warli grows in shady, humid, mostly mountain forests. Therefore, in the garden I picked up for her a semi-shady place under the canopy of a deciduous tree, with well-drained, humus-rich soil. In care, the plant is unpretentious. It has excellent frost resistance, so it does not need shelter. I cut off old leaves in spring. They will be replaced by young foliage, which will decorate the bushes until next year.
