10 most fragrant flowers for the front garden
The choice of fragrant plants and flowers for the front garden
My grandmother instilled love for fragrant plants. Following her example, I broke under the windows of the cottage front garden and grow my beloved melon since childhood.
Peonies (more on pion multiplication)
The most unpretentious and fragrant - grassy milk-flowering varieties.
At me they occupy the center of the front garden. In spring, peonies are well fed with a solution of complex fertilizers (10-30 g per 10 l). Close in a basal circle a glass of dolomite flour with boric acid (1 g per 10 kg).
To the bushes do not lay down from the rain and wind, fence them with pegs stretched twine.
Tavolga (labaznik)
In the background of the flower garden I have a tall tavolga. The smell of her is strong, honey. After blossoming shoots, the twigs should be cut off at the root, tk. the plant goes to rest. Coldly it carries well without shelter.
Fragrant tobacco
On the side of the peonies, fragrant tobacco blooms all summer long.
I recommend every year to plant it with seedlings, because in winter it will still freeze.
When planting, it is necessary to fertilize the ground with Nitrofos (1 st.l. at 1 sq. M.), Manure or compost.
Mattiola (levka)
I alternate tobacco with Mattiola.
I plant seedlings, but without organic fertilizers. When the seeds come up, place them on the balcony for 3-4 days. Temperature - 6-8 °.
Spread seedlings, leaving sprouts with large light cotyledonous leaves. So single flowers are removed and stored with terry.
Phloxes (more details here и here)
In the center of the front garden look great phlox. They are perennials, but they multiply easily by seeds.
Sow them in deep autumn in the frozen ground. Fill the beds with snow.
In the summer, the phlox will blossom. Do not forget that they need a support, otherwise after a bad weather the plants can lie down. For lush flowering you need to pinch the crown.
Sweet pea
To plant the blossom earlier, it is better to plant it with seeds for seedlings. Each seed should be slightly rounded and cut off the inflorescence after wilting. For disease prevention, plant peas every time in a new place.
Marigold (more on growing marigolds)
Bright marigolds look great in the front rows. They do not need special care, illnesses and insects are not terrible.
Moreover, this flower itself scares off underground pests.
Marigolds need to be fed after buds open, otherwise the foliage will be plentiful, and flowering will be liquid.

Reseda fragrant
Between the brightly flowering plants, I leave an unprepossessing, but very fragrant, mignonette. She is so unpretentious that she reproduces herself. In the spring it is necessary to remove superfluous shoots, which have risen out of place.
Monarda (bergamot)
Exquisite spicy flavor monarchs.
Tea with bergamot - just with her. Disheveled monarda stars flicker among my marigolds.
This perennial blooms for a very long time. Before frosts, it is necessary to cut off the ground part of the monad, so it will not damage the roots, dying off.
Violet fragrant
On the edges of the front garden is decorated with a violet. This crumb smells so much that you can smell the whole area. No wonder violet so fell in love perfume. After flowering, the foliage must be cut off. Then the flowers will blossom twice: in spring and in autumn.
A fragrant flower garden, I recommend to place on a sunny place, regularly watered and weeded.
Bring complex fertilizers during flowering. In autumn, loosen the ground and seal it in 1 bucket of humus to 1 square. m. Perennial shrubs every 5 years divide and transplant.
For all its unpretentiousness, scented flowers are incredibly responsive to care and attention.

Flowers-invaders, which reproduce by roots and shoots, it is convenient to plant in separate vases, boxes and barrels. But plants with volatile seeds are best not to start at the site.
BELLS
Most bells are great neighbors in the front garden. But 2 species should be limited: bell of the Carpathian and Takeshiman. Takeshima-nana gives lateral offspring and during the summer forms a voluminous bush up to 2 m in diameter. And the airy seeds of the Carpathian bell are easily carried by the wind throughout the site.
FALLARIS TROSTNIKOVY
Ornamental cereal fallaris is very high - above 1 m. It easily tolerates winter without shelter and grows by its roots. If it is not limited, then it is very difficult to uproot deep roots to the end.
SPIRITUAL SPRINGS
Field grass with a creeping rhizome. In the courtyard, I do not touch it, but in the garden and flower garden I am pruning immediately after early flowering, so as not to prevent the planting of crops. The next year it still grows.
CLEANER SPRING
Chistyak is particularly noticeable on the lawn, creating in a homogeneous green grass bald patches. Since it is low, the lawnmower does not take it, and if it does fall under the knife, it quickly recovers and grows even more actively.
Planting a plant in your area, you first need to study its specifics. Some species of plants are specially bred to quickly fill empty spaces, drowning out other greens. I hope that my observations will help the villagers avoid a long struggle with such beautiful, but aggressive invaders in the flower garden.

When my husband and I just bought a dacha, I hurried to buy beautiful plants for the flower garden. It seemed to me that the more splendid they would grow, the more beautiful the front garden would be. But it turned out differently.
Some flowers really grew to glory, but the rest withered under their pressure. It was necessary to weed out some plants and then plant them only in separate pots.
DYUSHENEYA INDIAN
It spreads on the ground with a dense carpet, throwing a mustache to the sides. Groping the ground, they quickly take root and continue to develop space. Blooms du Cheney is nice, though not magnificent. Its main decoration is berries, similar to real strawberries, but inedible. The decorative dyusheney retains until late autumn, and in one summer it can cover the entire flower garden with itself.
MAKI
Next to other flowers, do not put 2 type of poppies. The long-term oriental poppy quickly grabs the territory, letting shoots from the branching root system and scattering seeds. And the hypnotic poppy, though annual, keeps the seeds in the ground for many years. If he gets on the flower bed at least once, then from the sprouts will later have to get rid of many years in a row.
MATRIXHARIA
The plant is a perennial, but very thermophilic, therefore it is often grown as an annual. Forms many small flower baskets. Matricaria grows in lush bushes of up to 1,5 square. m. Such a bush obscures all nearby flowers, which should be taken into account when planting.
BLIND THE KIPARIS
The openwork leaves of the milkweed resemble pine twigs. Its roots depart from the bush at 4 m and can give a green shoot in an unexpectedly far from milking place, spoiling the composition of the flower garden. Completely get rid of
I did not become a milkweed and fenced each bush with slate pieces, digging them to a depth of 0,5 m.
HORSE EYE
The first year the acid grows quietly, where it was planted. But next spring, it can ascend not only anywhere in your flower garden, but even your neighbors. The fact is that her sweetish seeds are readily picked up by ants that carry them around the neighborhood.
