Decoration of a hanging basket with flowers
Hanging baskets and containers are important design elements.
Hanging baskets - this is the element that visually unites the house with the garden or various parts of the garden among themselves and helps to create a single, integral, well-designed space from separate parts.
In summer, I want to surround myself with flowers, and without containers and hanging baskets are indispensable here. They will find a place on the terrace of the country house, and on the smallest balcony of the city apartment.
To the selection of their color and shape, as well as to the composition itself, it is necessary to approach very carefully. Do not forget that it should fit organically into existing flower beds and develop the basic idea laid in the design of space.
Choosing assortment of colors for a hanging basket, you need, first, to assess the lighting conditions.
Most plants for container gardening are summers requiring a lot of light and sun.
Secondly, it is necessary to determine the color gamut. Components of the composition in the basket must be associated with a color gamut or at least spatially with the rest of the garden.
The advantage of the method is that ready-made seedlings are used to create plant compositions, and you will see the result immediately.
The proposed composition is bright and elegant, literally absorbing summer colors. She will perfectly fit into a landscape style garden.
Its components are quite classic, but the shades and shapes are carefully selected, so the solution looks solid and consistent.
The color scheme is offered in festive pink and crimson tones, which are shaded with deep lilac-violet shades. The abundance of small white flowers makes the composition light and graceful.
The basis of the flower garden is two varieties of hybrid ampelic verbena (for how to distinguish decorative verbena from medicinal verbena read here).
The bright purple-pink hybrid verbena "Babylon Deep Pink" is strewn with a cascade of flowers already at the end of May. This remarkable variety, in addition to the unique shade, is characterized by early flowering and resistance to fungal diseases. Small flowers of verbena are collected in large spherical inflorescences.
With good care and regular removal of discolored inflorescence, flowering continues until the end of October.
In addition to feeding, the main condition of abundant flowering is the correct lighting regime. Verbains need 8 hours of direct sun, in order to fully reveal their potential.
The second verbena is the Blue Princess variety, it is also ampelous and blooms a week later.
The shape of the inflorescences exactly repeats Deep Pink, and the shade is lilac-purple, perfectly emphasizes the bright pink colors of the second verbena, provides contrast and gives brightness to the whole composition. Notes of refinement are made by ampelous fuchsia.

On its thin long branches - elegant "two-layer" bell-shaped flowers. The Blouwik variety is an ideal partner for used verbena. The color of its upper lilac-pink petals is in perfect harmony with the color of the verbena “Babylon. Deep Pink. "
The same purple-pink gamut, but the shade is a bit lighter, blurry. The deep purple petals blend perfectly with the Blue Princess verbena and combine the whole composition into a single whole.
A highlight in the design of the hanging basket
The role of color accent is played by pelargonium zonal. The combination of pelargonium with verbena is classical.
These plants have large rounded inflorescences that blend well with each other. Used pelargonium - a blinding scarlet shade, it very enlivens the composition, gives it a touch of provocation.
Bright red is a traditional color for pelargonium, and there are dozens of varieties that differ only in the nuances of shades, height, etc.
In this case, the usual (not ampel) Pelargonium variety "American Dark Red" is used, which provides a vertical accent and makes the composition more voluminous.

The flower garden is complemented by an ample white lobelia and a bacon "Snowflake". The long, thin branches of the latter, covered with a cascade of small white flowers, hang down and form an excellent background for elegant fuchsia.
