Since spring, we are developing a new summer residence. In one place, under the tree, a very cute little fern grows. There is a penumbra. You need to clean the Christmas tree, but fern is a pity! Will he transfer the transplant, and in general - what is he called? I photographed it in the beginning of summer.

You are most likely to grow beetles of beech - fern, often found mainly in mixed, not damp forests of the Non-Black Earth Region. It is easy to transfer the transplant in the autumn. Its underground cord-like rhizomes are located shallowly in the forest litter, so that without problems, with your hands, without hurrying, dig out the entire clone. Put it on the prepared aligned pad in the penumbra (or maybe in the shade!) And fill it with a mixture of forest litter, screened from large particles and mature sifted compost, 2: 1. Thickness 5-7 see. Do not compact it. Only more or less spread the leaves, so that they stick out over the substrate. And pour abundantly from a watering can with a fine sieve.
When they are wilted nearer to the winter, they can be carefully cut off. And in the spring snails of young leaves!
Keep in mind, this elegant fern will gradually occupy the territory if he likes the substrate. So do not plant it together with plants suffering from competition!

In bright pine forests, you can often find a large fern - bracken, so named for the external similarity of leaves with the wing of a bird of prey. It easily tolerates transplantation, does not suffer from drought, can grow not only in the shade, but also in the sun, although it prefers partial shade. But keep in mind that this fern is growing rapidly. Its long creeping rhizomes quickly capture new territories and squeeze neighboring plants.
Growing forest species of ferns is a fascinating activity and everyone can do it. They need loose, sandy soil. When planting, they are placed according to the scheme 50 × 50 cm. Propagated by division of the rhizome or layering, and it is better to do this in spring or early summer. First, a bush is dug up and a small piece is cut from a long rhizome. If the plant has layering, then they are separated with a sharp knife and transplanted to a new place. At the same time, in order not to harm nature, it is better to transfer ferns to the garden plot from those places where they grow in large groups.

I have a shady corner on the plot. For a long time I want to plant ferns there. Can they be dug in the forest, then transplanted to the country?
