Alternatively, you can plant young, or "stone rose." This plant prefers sunny areas, but puts up with almost any soil and, if you periodically mulch the plantings slightly with humus and compost, rosettes grow up to 15 cm in diameter. Not only are the leaves very decorative, it is also young ... blooms.
Literally last year I bought several outlets of this plant on the market. She landed in the garden soil, poured. No more special efforts were made, only the weeds were removed around.
In August, four daughter rosettes emerged from the sinuses of the leaves.
To root children, loosened around the mother plant soil, in suitable places raked a bit of land to get holes of 3-4 cm depth, poured in them river sand. The earth did not water at the same time.
Carefully, without taking her away from the "mummy", she put the young twigs in there and again sprinkled with sand.

Above all the rosettes put small pebbles around so that they do not let the weeds grow and the natural moisture stay in the soil for a long time (besides, when they heat up during the day, at night they protect the plants to some extent from the cold). For the winter, only the fallen leaves of the trees fell asleep. Such a wintering plant was excellent. This year, my "mat" increased in size and pleased me with its flowering.

The motto of my alpine slide is that each has its own place in the rainbow, and all the plants I have are arranged in accordance with the rainbow spectrum: from red to purple.

The snow-white rutnik has a special role. White color helps to shade the brightness of the rainbow colors. I have located most of the charming rutnikov on the upper tier. Shining, joyful crumbling flowers open their petals with the first warmth, where the earth warms up faster. However, this primrose feels great in partial shade. Therefore, I planted a couple of plants at the base of the hill. There they bloom almost a month later, prolonging the spring charm of my garden.

Rutovnik is especially good because it does not need special care. Since this is a perennial plant, annual planting is not required. He is not afraid of Morozov, so it is not necessary to shelter him for the winter.

One of the most original and cheap solutions for decorating a summer house is the creation of a rutaria, or root garden. Everything will do for rutaria: fallen trunks, large branches, rhizomes, hemp. The procurement of material for compositions of the roots is usually carried out in the forest, on clearings and on the banks of the rivers, where there are avalizanimy "water, very picturesque driftwood.
The garden of the roots can be a composition of horizontally or vertically installed logs, in which cavities for decorative plants are hollowed out. Sometimes such emptiness is created by nature itself. Rutarium can be a conglomeration of snags reminding animals or fairy-tale characters. It can be just hemp with beautiful rhizomes. But in any case, it is necessary to protect the wood from decay and treat it with special means.

Near a small pond in my garden, I created a composition that includes a dry stream, an alpine slide, a bridge and a bench. Digging a hole under a pond tank, the earth was stacked in the opposite corner of the "room". Then she added a couple more wheelbarrows of fertile soil and made a slide. At its top put a pitcher (five years waiting for his "star hour" in the attic). On a winding line, between the stones, marked out the outline of a "dripping" dry stream. Then she dug a shallow groove, the bottom of which was laid with pieces of roofing material, so as not to leave chances for perennial weeds. The bed was covered with pebbles in a certain order: first, small pebbles "flow" small stones, then - larger, and to the pond - rather large. The brook crosses the path. And in this place my grandson and I threw a bridge, which was done in two hours. To the bridge logs did not creep under your feet and walk was safe, drilled holes on both sides and threaded them on the wire. The ends along the edges of the bundle were twisted and dug in a piece of wood (so that no one was accidentally injured). For the construction of the handrails, the alder tree was chosen to curve, which is visually close to the natural landscape.

Our summer residence is located in the old forest. Area
small. 11 acres, but we had to work hard. After all, we did everything with our own hands, without resorting to the help of landscape firms and gardeners. Initially there was an impenetrable thicket on the site. To build a house, we removed a few old birches and thickets of hazel. They left firs and oaks along the edges of the plot. And before the house broke the lawn (A).
The landscape would be done in a Mediterranean style. But in our climate this is not easy, because many southern plants do not tolerate our winters. So did not take root cypress-wiki, broom, rosemary. We tried a lot of things and left the most resistant plants. Our blue spruce trees are growing well. fir, larch (G). The thuja site is very decorated: among them there are both spherical and column-shaped. pintle-shaped. They feel great and annually give an increase of 25-40 cm. There are also deciduous shrubs: purple willow, Told Princess' spirea (B, D). which we cut “under the balls-. Dense spherical bushes form some floral perennials - euphorbia multicolor, stonecrops. And in total we have about 150 species of plants. Among them are exotic: amorphous. baptisia. hellebore.
Well and of course. roses. The 'Excelsia' and 'Flaments' wicker roses wrapping around arches bloom for more than a month, forming a whole pink mall. We plant annuals. We try to select flowers in warm colors: red, yellow, orange (B).

Our garden turned 20 years old. In the beginning we had a big garden and a fruit garden. But then I got carried away with landscape design and decided to remake everything. The area of the garden was reduced, the greenhouse was reduced. In the middle of the site, a recreation area with a lawn, cobbled platform, rose garden was organized. And last year I decided to create an alpine hill. A place for her was chosen between the lawn and the pool. To combine the water with the hill, I overlaid it with stones, which we collected for three years,
and in the fall they poured a hill. During the winter, the embankment settled and was ready for planting. So in the spring I already decorated it with stones and plants. She planted shrubs: Kuril tea, Japanese quince, spruce 'Konik', juniper Cossack. Then she placed flower perennials: astilbe, hosta, frankincense, kupena, irises, alpine aster, decorative tansy, woolly cleaner, stonecrops, creeping thyme.
Very revitalized her summer: three varieties of salvia and marigolds thin-leaved. Around the pool landed
irises, stunted marigolds, Blue Ball variety aggregate, gazania, gravilat. The pool and slide look as a whole. But now I see some errors in the selection and placement of plants, which I will correct in the fall and next spring.

    Northern Flowers
Northerners need a lot of work to turn their holiday village into a small green paradise. The tropical heaters of the cold do not favor, therefore it is necessary to find vegetable reserves near the nature itself.
Especially pleasing spring perennials. As soon as the snow comes down, my Arabian bloom. It blooms abundantly all May and until mid-June. With the first warm summer days, it is joined by a simple, but very spectacular phlox, sublime, flaunting lilac flowers. A little later (from August to September inclusive), blossoms a delightful pink flowers blossom (sedum).
All these plants are well established on the Alpine hills, and in | any other, even the most unexpected places for the flower brotherhood. For example, on my site they are successfully located in a children's corner, where my little granddaughters play.
And as soon as the hot summer days come, we put a pool there.
I heard from some gardeners that the landowners are unpretentious in terms of lighting and nutrition, but I noticed that they feel much more comfortable in sunny places with well-fertilized soil. Therefore, I do not refuse to care for my plants. I feed, from early spring to autumn, generously water in drought, cut off faded and dry inflorescences. And imagine, I have not a single weed on the site! So - and my groundcover flowers delight me with beauty, and help me in the fight against plant pests.
The northern summer is short. How much strength, knowledge and skill are required for the dacha site to look smart and attractive! And, it seems, I succeed.

We arranged a rock garden and wanted it to be not only beautiful, but also useful. Therefore, we put a mother-and-stepmother and a smoke on him. They covered the entire alpine hill and allowed us to stock up on medicines.
Seedlings of the mother-and-stepmother are planted directly in the clay and we pour the hole on the ground from the garden. We put the smoke on the finished hill. The plant is one-year, does not require special care and multiplies itself by self-seeding. Grass gather during flowering, dry in the shade, and for urgent treatment use fresh.
Mother-and-stepmother is used for ailments associated with the lungs. With a cold, cough, acute bronchitis
make a decoction: 2-3 a leaf on 500 ml of fresh milk, boil and add the pork fat to the tip of the knife. Take 50 ml before going to bed until the disease passes.
Also, mother-and-stepmother helps with hair loss and dandruff, for the healing effect, 2 times a week, rinse the freshly washed head with decoction of leaves of mother-and-stepmother, nettle and burdock root - according to 2 st. l. on 1 l of water.
The dymyaka is used to stimulate the appetite and stimulate the digestive processes. Prepare a decoction of 10 g of dry herb on 0,5 liter of beer, take an 1 glass before each meal. The course of treatment lasts 2-3 weeks.
