In our garden, a blackberry-raspberry hybrid - ezemalin has long been growing.
He has powerful shoots, like blackberry, just drooping and long. Hybrid is good because it is almost not affected by diseases and pests. In addition, he does not have thorns, he does not creep around the site. And the berries are large and sweet.

We have placed the fashion in the sunniest place. Cherenkovali as a honeysuckle, only for jemalina shoots were cut later, in early July. Cuttings took green, with two internodes. Roots appeared in 3 weeks.
For the winter season, every year you have to hide. After bending sprouts, we put planks under them so that there is no contact with the ground, we also press them with boards on top and sprinkle spruce lapnik, then cover with old film. Under such cover the plants hibernate without any problems.

Ezhemalina is fruitful, shoots are strewn with berries, so we certainly make them support. And for better fruiting during flowering we feed the plant with a mullein. At first the berries blush, only when fully ripe, become dark purple. From them we prepare delicious compotes and jam.

A hybrid of raspberries and blackberries - Ezhemalin - absorbed the best qualities of their parents. From blackberry, he received high productivity and unpretentiousness to growing conditions, and from raspberries - excellent winter hardiness and relative nonship. The berries of the raspberry-blackberry hybrid are juicy, tasty, large. They are rich in carbohydrates, acids (apple and citric), trace elements (manganese, phosphorus, iron, copper, magnesium), they contain a large number of different vitamins.

Raspberry-blackberry hybrid does not need special care, it is enough to water and feed it correctly. It is better to start feeding plants from the second year with a solution of mullein or bird droppings. Loosening the ground under the bushes is not necessary, because the roots are located almost at the surface. Instead, mulch the soil - the plant will be grateful to you for this. In the summer, hedgehog raspberry branches appear - as soon as they reach a height of about 2,5 m, they need to pinch the tops. So the branches will be thicker and will give more lateral shoots, on which the crop is laid.

Those who decide to plant raspberry-blackberry hybrids will find it useful to know that they are quite winter-hardy, but it’s better to cover new plantings for the winter (a spruce or non-woven material is suitable). Adult plants also shelter, if there is concern that they will not survive the winter. To do this, after the first frost at the base, cut out unripe branches, and carefully bend the rest to the ground and pin. With the onset of sustained cold weather, plants should be covered with a layer of sawdust, peat or leaves, and covered with a non-woven material. In the spring, when the snow falls and the temperature in the street is above +10 ° C, it is time to remove the shelter, and for the branches - make supports and fix them. When distributing shoots on a support, do not forget that they should all be well lit, then you will get a rich harvest of large berries.

    Ezhemalina, her, of her!
I was visiting a friend in the south. She treated me to blackberries. But what was my surprise when they tasted like raspberries? I found out that this is a hybrid of two plants - blackberries and raspberries. I had never heard of such a culture before, and, of course, I immediately wanted to grow a miracle berry in my garden! A friend gave me a stalk, but in joy I didn’t even think that in our region a strange plant might not be beaten. But do not throw it away now! What should I do and how to care for the hybrid?

The hybrid form between raspberries and blackberries is a fairly young, promising culture. Undoubtedly, you need to try to grow it on your site. Unfortunately, you did not specify a hybrid grade, therefore it is difficult to say how comfortable this plant will be in the conditions of the Middle Urals. However, there are varieties of hedgehog (Texas, Darrow) that tolerate fairly low temperatures and are able to survive the harsh Ural winter.
The cuttings should be planted in a lighted place in a pit measuring 40 "40x40 cm. Only it does not need to be filled with organic fertilizers (manure, compost) - this will cause increased shoot growth and will contribute to high productivity, however, winter hardiness of such plants will be low.
Care for treasures is almost the same as for ordinary raspberries. The only difference, perhaps, is that the hybrid develops long (2-4 m) creeping whips, which must be fixed on the trellis. For the winter they should be removed from the support, put on the ground and covered with peat, sawdust, fallen leaves, straw.

Appearing on the horticultural market just a few years ago, a raspberry-blackberry hybrid (ezemalin) incorporated all the best qualities of its parents. From blackberries - high productivity and unpretentiousness to growing conditions, and from raspberries - excellent winter hardiness and relative nonship.
Caring for a raspberry-blackberry hybrid is not burdensome - it needs watering and top dressing. It is better to start feeding plants from the second year with a solution of mullein or bird droppings. Loosening the ground under the bushes is not necessary so as not to damage the roots, since they are located almost at the very surface of the earth. Instead of loosening, it is better to mulch the soil around the plant. In summer, plants appear substitution branches. When they reach a height of approximately 2,5 m, they need to pinch the tops. Thanks to this simple procedure, the branches will be thicker and give more side shoots.

    Landing.
Saplings of blackberry-raspberry hybrids are planted in autumn and spring in the usual time for berry crops. A place for planting is chosen solar, protected from cold winds. Plants are planted at a distance of 1-1,5 m from each other to the same depth as they grew before.
Pits or furrows are scooped out so that the roots of the seedlings can be freely placed in them (40x40x40 cm). It is better to introduce phosphorus-potassium fertilizers or ashes into the planting pits, as under raspberry. Organic make it undesirable, as winter hardiness of planted plants in the first year of life decreases. She begins to feed the hea-lina for the third year after planting. Planted plants of pork-
To 25-30 cm, watered and mulched with peat, humus. Along the row set trellis height about 1,5-2 m.
Care. Fruiting plants need to be fed. Organics are introduced in the fall, on light soils - annually, on loams - every two years. Phosphorus and potash fertilizers are also applied in the fall, and nitrogen fertilizers are applied in the spring and in the first half of summer (if necessary).
In dry weather, watering is carried out.
When the young shoots reach a length of 2-2,5 m, their tips are pricked.
In the cold regions in autumn, after the first frosts, the weighed branches are cut out at the soil level, and the young shoots of this year are laid on the ground and covered with a layer of foliage, straw, reeds for the winter ...
