Ideal roses for a flower garden and a garden - are there any?

Overview of varieties and hybrids of roses that are close to ideal for a combination of characteristics.
If your main goal is the creation of a long and constantly flowering rosary, choose roses with high winter hardiness; The most resistant to diseases and unfavorable weather conditions; abundant and continuously flowering from early summer to late autumn; with beautiful, fragrant flowers.
The most modern varieties with such characteristics are found among ground cover roses, floribunda, rouge roses, Canadian selections and English David Austin.
Since there are practically no unconventional varieties of modern roses, first of all give preference to low (up to 60-70 cm), which, with a good snow cover, can suffer severe winters without losses (-30-35 degree). But for reliability it is better to cover them with a layer of covering material with a density of 60 g / m 2.
Low shrub roses, planted in groups of one kind, create a wonderful decorative effect. Among them you can choose varieties with flowers of all colors and a variety of shapes - from simple to terry. Leading companies of the world (Meilland, Kordes, Tantau, Noack and others) created whole groups of varieties of such roses that do not require labor-intensive care and special shelter in the winter.
Ground-cover roses
The first ground cover (landscape) roses were obtained by breeders of the French firm Meilland.
The baton was picked up by German firms Kordes and Tantau. Among the varieties they obtained, there are both grafted and root crops, which are more durable and do not give wild growth. Virtually all of them are resistant to disease, winter hardiness, decorative, abundant and continuously bloom until late autumn. Most varieties have the ADR certificate (a kind of quality mark). The color scheme is for every taste. So there is plenty to choose from.
Roses are the height of a man
To create a spectacular group in the center of the lawn or an impenetrable wall in the growth of a man, roses are required that have a three-dimensional bush with a height of 1,5 m and more. Such varieties can be found among the roses of Rugosa, Canadian roses, British David Austin. However, in the late autumn they will have to tilt their shoots to the ground (often in two or three steps), so that the height from the ground level does not exceed 0,5-0,6 m, and hide.

Hybrid roses rogoza
Long since the rose rugosa (wrinkled) attracted breeders with such qualities as winter hardiness, resistance to diseases, repair. One of the first hybrids of the rose rugosa is the Hansa variety (1905). Flowers are purple-pink, cup-shaped, double, slightly shaggy, with a diameter of 5-7 cm with a strong saturated flavor that appear on the bush until late autumn.
Extremely disease-resistant rose, very winter-hardy, 1,5 × 1,5 m in size. We can say that this is an improved version of rose rugosa. Grade Rose Rugosa Alba with white non-fluff flowers blooming abundantly and continuously. At the end of the 20th century, Cordes breeders created a number of varieties of roses of Rugosa with various flowers. With red - Robust physique (1979) Hansaland (1993); white - Weisse Wolke(1993); pink - Pink Robusta (1986) Delisia (2002); yellow - Rugelda (1989).
Each of these varieties is good in its own way, and together they make it possible to create an accent in the center of the lawn, a picturesque group at the fence, and a mysterious corner in the garden, where the curious sight of an outsider does not penetrate.
One of the best
Among the hybrids of rose rugosa is a variety Hansaland. In my opinion, this is one of the best varieties of park roses today. Flowers of pure red color, without any shades, cup-shaped, double, diameter 7-8 cm, without flavor. At full disclosure, yellow stamens are visible. Flowers are single or collected in powerful inflorescences (5-7 pcs.). Flowering is abundant, prolonged, repeated. The bushes are powerful, vigorous, with strong upright shoots up to an altitude of 1,5 m. The leaves are bright green, roundish, semi-glossy. High resistance to diseases, very frost-resistant and universal variety. Effectively looks like a soloist, and in group plantings, both along the tracks against the background of the lawn, and in the form of a fence.
Roses of David Austin
More than half a century ago, the English breeder David Austin set a goal to obtain varieties that combine the charm of ancient roses with the virtues of modern. He sought to obtain a rose, harmonious and perfect in all respects - a beautiful flower, a strong aroma, beautiful foliage and a bush, increased resistance to diseases and high winter hardiness. Especially D. Austin approached his ideal of the perfect rose in the varieties he received in the 21st century: William Shakespeare 2000, Crocus Rose, Lichfield Angel, Princess Alexandra of Kent, Munstead Wood, The Wedgwood Rose, Lady of Shalott. These varieties are very effective, continuously bloom until late autumn and have a fairly high resistance to disease. Many amateur roses growers believe that D. Austin's roses are the most "Russian" roses, since they have high winter hardiness. And the fabulous beauty of the flowers of such varieties as The Wedgwood Rose and Lady of Shalott, makes them desirable for almost all lovers of roses.
Roses of Canadian breeding
Canadians are not as effective as tea-hybrid roses or flory-bunda, but they have many advantages: endurance and unpretentiousness, resistance to diseases and high frost resistance. Most of them withstand frosts -35 degrees, and some varieties up to -45 degrees.
Among the many varieties divided into three series: Explorer ("Explorers"), Parkland ("Park"), Artists ("Artists"), you can distinguish a variety of colors: red - Alexander Mac Kenzie, John Franklin, Champlain, Hope for Humanity, Adelaide Hoodless; pink - Morden Centennial, Loui Jolliet, Prairie Joy; yellow - JPConnell, Morden Sunrise; white - Henry Hudson, Sir Thomas Lipton. Since the genotype of Canadian roses has an increased ability to restore shoots, even in the case of the freezing of bushes in especially unfavorable winters, they are already beginning to blossom on new shoots in the summer.

New varieties of flower roses
Opens a list of new mini-rose varieties 'Lola', bred in the famous nursery of Tantau. This plant, reaching 1,8 m in height, looks like a climbing rose. Its cherry-red flowers, with which the mini-rose is decorated all summer, exude a sweet aroma. By the way, they do not need to be cut after flowering - they fall off themselves. This variety was bred specifically for growing in a tub (the optimal height of the container is at least 50 cm with a volume of at least 20 l). Variety 'Eva' with pink flowers, 'Melina' with purple or light blue and 'Carmen' with yellow-orange are also new products intended for frame culture.
