They planted blueberries: it seems that we are doing everything right, but for some reason the bushes do not grow ... What is the reason?

Perhaps you planted blueberries on a site where potatoes or other vegetables grew. The "correct" predecessors for blueberry are only perennial grasses (and only those areas where fertilizers were not applied for five years). The reason may be in the wrong landing. Often gardeners try to buy a bush with a large number of branches and in a smaller pot, to make it easier to carry. The roots of such a seedling are densely woven and wrapped inside. Before planting, the pot with the plant should be put in water, after 10-15 minutes, reach and separate the roots, split and spread in the pit horizontally. They themselves are not able to turn around in the soil, the root system does not grow. As a result, the plant will die after some time.

In the Central Siberian Botanical Gardens, varieties that can be successfully grown in the middle lane are bred:
Blue placer, Marvelous, Elegant, Ixin, Nectar, Taiga beauty, Shegarskaya, Yurkovskaya. You need to buy 2-3 grades. You can add plants brought from the forest to them - pollination will immediately improve.
Plants need good drainage and peaty soil, better light with an admixture of sand and high humus content. Blueberries are usually planted in the spring, but it is possible in the early fall (if the bushes are with a closed root system). Before planting, dig the soil into 2-2,5 bayonets, add humus and peat (8-10 kg per 1 m2), and in the lower layers of the soil - complete mineral fertilizer, such as aquarin (60-80 g per 1 m2).
Plant blueberries in one row along the southern fence. The distance between the landing holes must be 120-130 cm. Then it is immediately milled with a layer of peat or sawdust (8-10 cm), which acidifies the soil, retains moisture, reduces fluctuations in soil temperature and promotes the development of good roots in the first year.
