I have a sunny 8 × 7 m plot in front of the house. Young cherry, apricot and two old plums are already growing at the edges. Is it possible to place a peach and two hazelnuts here, because they are not planted one by one? Or will the trees be crowded?

      - You can, but I advise you to form hazelnuts in 1-2 trunks.

Even from a small garden with the size of 2-4 weave it is quite possible to harvest, providing annual requirements for plant products of the family from 4-6 people. Just planting should be placed compactly.
Beans, peas, and beans can grow between rows of potatoes. Scourge of cucumbers, squash, squash, pumpkin let curl on the fences. Strawberries, lettuce, spicy herbs I personally grow remarkably on vertical beds - shelving with containers installed near the walls of a country house, sheds. I grow tomatoes, eggplant, peppers in old buckets suspended on a thick steel wire stretched above human growth along garden paths.
Berry bushes tie to trellises, so that they grow not in breadth, but upwards. Apple trees, pears, plums plant colonial varieties. Flowers for the sake of economy of a place grow in flowerpots and кашпо.

When the garden was broken with my husband, due to a lack of experience, we did a lot of things by eye, not really thinking about how and what happens when the plants grow (they thought about beauty and their personal convenience). And then five years passed, and, in particular, it turned out that the luxurious and well-bearing gooseberry bush was “crushed” by a wide-spread cherry. Like it or not, there are only two ways out: either chopping down a tree (cutting its branches from the side of the berry is already pointless, and it looks awful), or getting rid of the bush. I feel sorry for the cherry more. So the victim is gooseberries. Why, even his heart hurts. Hence the question for experienced gardeners: is it possible to transplant a 5-year-old bush? Well, or, at worst, split it when transplanting?

I have only three summer gardening experiences. Every spring, the question arises: what and how much to plant? It is necessary to take into account my strengths and capabilities, the ability to process and preserve, and most importantly, am I to remove all this? What if guests arrive - we must treat them. And if it doesn’t rise, doesn’t grow, withers, gets sick?
How to calculate the right amount of vegetables and greens? Is there an accurate calculation here? This is not a dress for a figure to sew and do not put tiles on the wall.
At first I asked my most experienced neighbor. Management experience - 25 years. The secret is simple. and complicated: good grades and plus 10% of the verified quantity over many years - so to speak, for shrinkage and utruska. For example, last summer she planted 70 bushes of seedlings of cabbage. Gathered - 64 heads.
Then I climbed up for information in the books. That's what they advise. To provide a family of four with vegetables, it is required:
    • 10 salad bushes, which are planted once a week, it is enough for them to allocate an area of 0,5 sq. M. m. One literate bush is better than a hundred crowded in a row of stifles.
    • 4 bush of tomatoes. Tomatoes, which are growing throughout the season (scientifically -indeterminant). If you eat on 1 kg per day, each bush should give 30 kg, and this is not the limit.
    • 4 bushes of cucumbers. Clear business - self-fertile (parthenocarpic), giving solid female flowers, tied immediately, immediately, without any pollination.
    • 6 pepper shrubs, 6 eggplant bushes.
The main thing is to hunt!
From myself, I’ll add. We are used to planting plants in hundreds, sowing in long rows and large handfuls. Then we thin out, if we have time. At the same time, a huge area is planted - we love to create a front for ourselves. Spending the summer in this mode, I decided to keep my plants and beds to a minimum. Better less, but better.

My garden plot is small, but the harvest is enough to provide the family with fresh vegetables and make supplies for the winter. With a reasonable approach, you can also get a lot of products from a small area, without depleting the land.
It is necessary not only to take into account the composition of the soil and make fertilizers necessary for each crop, but also to know the requirements of cultivated crops for illumination. There, where the shadow from the buildings and the garden falls, it is better to plant leafy greens: lettuce, spinach, sorrel, parsley, some spicy herbs. Not bad to withstand the shade of cabbage (especially colored and leafy), onions and garlic. And for cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, beets, it is necessary to allocate well-lit areas.
Also, without a sun, you can not get a decent harvest of potatoes.
However, I have long ago planted only a couple of rows of early varieties to eat young potatoes in the summer. In winter it is easier for me to buy it than store it. The vacant place is occupied by more interesting and tasty vegetables.
Along the sunny side of the fence I make beds for vegetables that require support or garters-beans, peas, cucumbers, tall tomatoes. The fence becomes the basis for the trellis, and if necessary also for the covering film.
On the side slopes of the onion beds, I plant beets and rutabaga. These cultures do not interfere with each other. Between seedlings of tomatoes and cabbage I sow lines of radish - it manages to grow before neighbors begin to claim its place.

To break a large garden on a plot of 6 acres does not work. But, choosing the right trees and shrubs, you can please yourself and loved ones with good harvests of fruits and berries. 3-4 tall trees will be enough. For example, apple trees or pears. The place for them must be chosen carefully, taking into account the size of the future crown, the distance to neighboring sites and to buildings. Estimate where the shadow will fall. The minimum distance between coarse grains is 3-4 m. Be sure to select varieties taking into account the requirements for pollination.
Less places will be occupied by cherry, plum, cherry, irga, thorny, aronia. But most of these plants give a lot of root cane, which must be fought. It is advisable immediately, when planting, to dig into the ground at a distance 1-1,5 m around the seedlings a plastic curb tape or any sheet material.
Pay attention to miniature trees on dwarfish rootstocks or variants with a column-shaped crown. Many nurseries offer unusually formed plants: rowan and hawthorn with a weeping crown, gooseberry on the stem. Usually they take up less space in an adult state than the usual forms. Those who wish can learn the art of grafting and molding the crown.
Do not forget about decorative conifers. They are very beautiful at any time of the year, and occupy very little space.
