    3 advice to newbies
When I was just engaged in gardening, then like every novice, I made mistakes. I would very much like today's newcomers not to repeat my mistakes.
When planting the seedlings, I forgot to prune the branches. Roots during excavation are inevitably broken off or chopped off, as a result of which the crown does not correspond to the capabilities of the root system. It is not necessary to regret the branch: after the rooting, the crown will recover.
Together with minerals, I poured fresh manure or compost into the planting pit. This did not support, but oppressed the plant. The ideal seedling backfill is the top 30 cm pounds. Feeding is better to do when the tree takes root and grows.
Planting the plant, did not pay attention to the location of branches relative to the sides of the world. When transplanting, it is necessary to note a branch growing, say, to the south, and in a new place to reproduce the habitual position for the seedling.

There will be a garden city!
I want to break up the garden in the country, but the site is new, there used to be nothing. While it's just dug up. What other tillage should be done before planting trees? What fertilizers need to be introduced?

Before splitting the orchard, it is necessary to find out what kind of soil (loam, chernozem, etc.) on the site, and to make its analysis for the chemical composition, acidity, to determine the depth of occurrence of groundwater. Depending on the results obtained, you will take any action. If the soils are rich in humic acids, there are enough nutrients in them, the groundwater does not come to the surface, it is enough to dig a site, prepare planting pits, make humus (at the rate of 1 bucket per pit), compost and complex mineral fertilizers in the amount recommended for each crop (an average of 40-60 g NPK). If it turns out that the soil is poor, with high acidity, be sure to carry out measures to improve their structure. Add dolomite flour for deoxidation, mineral and organic fertilizers for enrichment. High groundwater will not give fruit trees a chance - when wetting the root system, the probability of their death is high. To avoid this, make a good drainage.

Many people think that the most difficult thing is to find the right place in the garden for the berry trees and trees. And I was convinced from my own experience that it is impossible to do this if you do not take into account the scope of the plant roots. For example, a willow can spread its root system up to 40 m, an oak up to 30 m, and an apple tree up to 15 m. It is a pity that I had not thought about this before.
Nurseries are far from us. Sometimes you have to take trees in abandoned villages. I brought the plum and planted it next to the currant. She settled down well, began to give decent harvests, and then with a terrible force around her sprouted shoots and began to almost clog the berry. Now every year I struggle with them, I cut down.
One autumn he was tempted by the wonderful aroma of cones of hops. He brought his escape from the forest, planted it. I enjoyed the smell and look, and then the hops broke up and completely covered the plum, and scattered seeds all over the plot. He began to uproot it, he dug a huge hole, but did not reach the ends of the roots. He cleaned them to white and treated with a vigorous herbicide. In the spring I will see what the result is.
Rosehip also brought from the forest, but planted behind the fence. Both beautiful and good - I picked flowers and put them in tea. But the dogrose became bored, and he came to the garden to get acquainted. I dug a trench along the fence and loaded iron sheets into it. He went around this obstacle - and hello again. I again had to wave with an ax and a shovel. But not sure I got rid of it. And the most difficult fight I had with the turn, which came to me from a neighboring site. Here I even had to take on a chainsaw, and still shoot the shoots with the same herbicide. By the way, plums are often grafted onto the turn. Somewhere I read that if the vaccine is done on an antipka, then there will be no shoots at the plum. Who would explain what antipka is? Maybe an apple tree?
And now I will touch upon other trifles of the life of my favorite garden. The trunks of apple trees I used to whiten in the fall, but I realized in the end that it is useless, because endless rains wash most of the paint. Well, then why all this trouble? To clear your conscience? Last year, I did not engage in this nonsense and simply overlaid the trunks with a spruce fir branch: for both heat and mice. And in March bright, sunny day came. For lime in the city have to go, and she's expensive. Of course, in the basement there is a bucket of slaked lime already lime, but this is for the whitewashing of the two stoves. And I thought of such an option.
Since there are still snowdrifts in the garden, I took old sheets of iron and stumbled right next to the apple trees into the snow - I created a shadow from the burning spring sun. And where there weren’t enough sheets, he made “curtains” out of a black film stretched on boards stuck in the snow, if only the sun would not warm the bark, otherwise it would burst at night from frost.

The six hundred square meters of the garden!
We really wanted to buy a site, as they say, from scratch: to build a house, what we want, and put it where we want. But when they became happy owners and came to the site, they got a little scared.
How to properly manage a small space of six hectare? There are a lot of cones, but I can share my experience.
Fruit trees and shrubs buy in the local nursery and only zoned for your area.
Harvest is always greater when there is cross-pollination. Therefore, varieties with the same periods of flowering plant next to each other.
Consider light requirements and place trees accordingly. Here's the series I got - from the most light-loving to the shade-tolerant: apricots, cherries. pears, apple trees, cherries and plums,
I want to plant small seedlings compactly, but they will grow into large trees. Keep your distance right away. For example, plant apples, pears and cherries at a distance of 4-5 m from each other. Dwarf varieties - 3 m from each other. And in between, until the trees have grown, plant fruit bushes, such as black currants. She is aging early and will require updating soon.

When planting, the root neck of trees and shrubs (the place of departure from the trunk of the first root) should not be deepened or raised much above the soil. In order to prevent deepening, it is necessary to make landing pits in advance, filling them with fertilizers: for spring planting, pits are prepared in autumn, and for autumn planting in summer or early September (7-10 days before planting).
If you did not manage to make the holes in advance, please note that then the soil will settle, so the root neck should be placed above the ground level on 5-7 cm.
Currants, gooseberries and honeysuckle are buried by 7-10 cm. Sea buckthorn is 5-7 cm deep. The raspberry planting depth is determined by the location of the bud, from which a young shoot is formed. It should be 2-3 cm below the ground.
When planting fruit trees grafted on dwarf stocks, always remember that the site of vaccination should be above the soil level. Otherwise, there is a risk that the tree can go to its own roots, and all your works will be brought to naught
