    Otp aphids will help guaranteed!
This summer I found an excellent remedy for aphids. I use it both in the garden and in the garden. Helps guaranteed!
500 g of pine or spruce needles pour 2 liters of hot water, insist in a dark place for a week. Before use, I dilute with water (1: 7), and then spray the damaged plants.

    Killer against aphids

When aphids attack peonies, roses, I fight it with celandine infusion. In gloves, I cut the shoots of the plant, densely fill them with a third of a 10-liter bucket. Pour boiling water to the top and insist 2-3 hours, stirring a couple of times. I filter, dilute with water (1: 1), adding 2 tablespoons to the bucket. liquid soap, and spray the plants. During the season I spend 2-4 treatments with an interval of 7-10 days.

On the trees, you can immediately see where there is aphids - the leaf is twisted, the fruit bud does not form, bare branches appear. Almost all females are brought into the trees by ants before the birth of the first generation. Somewhere deep in the soil, under the roots, there is an anthill, it usually appears under a 2-3-year-old tree. When the ants plant the aphids on the branches, it begins to twist all the leaves. Ants help her: they protect her, transfer them to new branches, and then milk her.
Usually gardeners begin to deal with aphids when it has already twisted a few leaves on the shoots. Useless. Aphids are now safely hidden from any precipitation and spraying.

The only moment when it can be destroyed is the first week of the release of shoots from the kidneys.
Although the leaves have not yet blossomed, female aphids are already sitting on the young shoots. They could hatch from eggs, or they could come from an anthill. This is the first generation and it is open. So we spray it with liquid potassium soap, a concentration of 3% - 300 g per one and a half buckets of water.
You can also make sand cones under the barrel. I put a film under the barrel and pour 2-4 buckets of fine dry sand mixed with ash onto it.

I form a steep cone around the trunk. Every week it must be corrected, especially after rains. We cover with a film so that weeds do not germinate.
And one more way. When the aphid has wrapped the young growth (May-June), it is necessary to cut it off to a healthy leaf, since a twisted leaf cannot give anything.

    We chase aphids with pepper

In September, greenery always grows on my site. During this period, aphids are especially dangerous for her, because there are less and less succulent green plants. To protect the beds, after weeding, I spray the plants with the following composition.

2 tbsp I dilute ground red pepper in 0,5 liters of water, put it in heat. When the liquid turns sour, I heat it over low heat for 10 minutes. Separately, in 10 liters of water, I dilute with 2 tablespoons. vinegar essence and dry mustard powder. I add pepper infusion and spray the beds. Aphids die almost immediately!

In summer, plums especially suffer from aphids in my garden. I deal with the problem with ash. I pour 1 liter of ash into 3 liters of boiling water, insist until cooling, filter it. First, I dilute the composition with water 1: 1, pour it into a bucket and dip the tops of the shoots, heavily covered with aphids, into the solution. Then I dilute again with water (1: 2) and spray the tree completely. Be sure to remove all overgrowth and weeds.

    Flower beds without aphids

If you want to spend the new season without aphids, stock up on tar soap and ammonia (sold at the pharmacy) right now. They will be needed as soon as the first "scouts" creep into the flower garden (obvious signs are twisted or stuck together yellowed leaves). Do not wait for their colonies to spread. If a pest is found, I take a ten-liter bucket (which I no longer use at home), pour water, add at least half a piece of grated soap (about 70 g) and 2 tbsp. l. ammonia. I mix well and spray all plantings, especially carefully - already affected by aphids, as a result, insects die from suffocation.

    IMPORTANT!
When processing, be sure to wear rubber gloves, a mask and goggles to protect the eyes. If the effect is insufficient, then after two weeks the procedure should be repeated.

Aphids are the most common pest in our gardens. Insects suck the juices from the upper tender shoots of plants, weakening and slowing down their growth. Moreover, they multiply so quickly that sometimes the most effective methods can not help.

But the husband uses a method that will help get rid of aphids in almost a minute. He impregnates rags with used machine oil (stores in a separate container), stuffs them into a can and fixes it securely to a stick. Then he sets fire to the rags and brings the smoking "torch", waving it slightly, to the plant, which is covered by the aphids. So fumigates the crown for a few minutes. Pests are dying right before our eyes.

Logically, there will be no harm from such a method. Will it benefit? This is another question. In any case, if you decide on such an experiment, remember the safety measures so as not to injure yourself and not burn the plants. With a massive invasion of aphids, I still do not advise you to completely abandon insecticides (for example, Karate, Aktara), which can be used 20 days before fruiting or after it. Do not forget about biological products (such as Fitoverma) - they are safe throughout the season.

In the summer, an aphid attacked an apple tree seedling. In general, this is a rather gentle insect that dies even from plant infusions with insecticidal properties (infusions of tobacco, garlic, hot pepper). Its strength lies in its colossal reproduction rate. But, as luck would have it, there was not a single garden insecticide at hand. But there was a spray lotion to protect against mosquitoes and other blood-sucking insects. So I decided to use it to protect the apple tree. What I soon regretted ...
The spray killed the aphids, however, it also had a negative effect on the seedling. An hour after spraying, the leaves turned brown and curled up (see photo). The upper part of the plant, which did not have time to lignify, also suffered, while the lower, lignified, remained intact. Well, science for the future ...

With a not too threatening spread of aphids in the garden, it is quite possible to use folk remedies to fight.
Recipe 1: 2 tbsp. l. soda ash or 1 tbsp. liquid detergent + 4-5 ml of iodine tincture + 30-40 g of tar soap - for 10 liters of water. Process in the morning or evening.
Recipe 2: 100 ml of milk or whey + 5 ml of iodine - for 10 liters of water.
Recipe 3: 400 g of fresh dandelion leaves for 3 hours, pour 10 liters of water and add 40-50 g of soap.
When "heavy artillery" is already required, it is better to use insecticides based on bacteria - "Bicol", "Biotlin", "Fitoverm", according to the instructions.

    Garlic against aphids

Method 1 for preparing the infusion: Pass 500 g of fresh garlic (or 100 g of dried) through a meat grinder, pour 1 liter of cold water, stir, close the lid and leave for 10 days. Strain and squeeze. Store in a glass container in a cool dark place (preferably in a basement or refrigerator). The infusion is effective against aphids, phytophthora and gray rot. For processing, dilute 100 ml of infusion in 10 liters of water, add a few drops of liquid soap and spray the plants.

2nd method: chop 1 head of garlic, pour 1 liter of boiling water. Leave in a jar covered with a lid for a week. For processing, dissolve 50 ml of infusion in 10 liters of water. Protects against aphids, spider mites, whiteflies, as well as pests of indoor plants - the worm and scale insects.

To drive away aphids from the beds, I usually have enough soap solution (200 g of grated laundry soap per 10 liters of water). But this year there were so many insects that vegetables began to die. The cabbage leaves were deformed, the peppers began to fade. Therefore, pest control had to be done using other methods.

In the evening, in dry weather, I sprayed all the plants on the site (including currant and gooseberry bushes that grow along the perimeter of the garden) with Fitoverm diluted according to instructions.
Three days later, the treatment was repeated. This time I used the biological product Summer resident (it not only destroys aphids, but also scares off ants).
Then, once a week, I alternated spraying with a solution of laundry soap and an infusion of yarrow (400 g of fresh grass per 10 liters of water).
I noticed that if you process only plants damaged by aphids, the pests quickly move to others. So a systematic approach is needed.

Summer residents know that aphids do considerable harm to plants, and use different ways to combat it. But few people know the technique that I want to talk about. Yellow color attracts aphids. You can arrange planks painted with yellow paint in the garden, attach adhesive tape to them with the sticky side out, and the aphid will stick. You can still put a yellow bucket of soapy water, and the aphids will be in the bucket. Thanks to these measures, you will distract insects from plants.

I never throw onion husks, but put them in a linen bag and hang them on the battery so that the raw materials are dry. After all, this is a real storehouse of useful substances! I actively use husk on the site. For example, to feed roses, as well as to protect them from spotting, aphids and caterpillars.

The recipe is simple: pour a liter jar of husk (tightly filled) in a saucepan of 1, 5 liters of boiling water, close it with a lid and insist for two days. I filter, squeeze and dilute with water (1: 2), adding 1 tbsp. green soap. I infuse the bushes on the leaves with infusion.

If I notice aphids in a garden or vegetable garden, I abundantly spray all the plants on the site with one of the compounds. I repeat the treatment with an interval of 3-4 days, until all the pests die. I noticed that if you fight aphids only in the garden or only in the garden, the pests will surely move to the site, the plants are not processed. And the war can last forever.

400 g of washed and crushed roots of fresh horse sorrel pour 2, 5 liters of boiling water, wrap, insist 3 hours. Before use, dilute with water (1: 1), add 1 - 2 tablespoons. liquid soap.
1 kg of fresh (or 300 g dry) ground pods of hot pepper, I insist a day in 10 l of water at room temperature. Before spraying, I dilute with water (1:10), add 50 g of laundry soap grated on a coarse grater.
1 kg of chopped fresh pine needles insist a week in 4 liters of water. I mix it once a day. I filter, dilute with water 1: 1, add 50 g of crushed tar soap.

If the aphids are small, you can ignore it. And if - hordes, then young shoots of roses suffer first of all, their juice for a pest is too tasty. It can significantly weaken the young growth. As a result, the leaves will deform, and the buds will not open.
The most affective effect on this pest is sprayed with drugs such as Actar, Iskra, and Fitoverm.

Drive the ants away from aphids
For ants, aphids are a kind of “confectionery factory”.
They feed on its secretions. Therefore, first drive away ants from the garden.
Dig an ant nest and carry it away as far as possible from the site.
Sprinkle the places where insects were most often seen with ground cinnamon, chopped tansy, dry bitter wormwood, field mint or anise - the ants cannot stand these odors.

Fill the bucket with chopped leaves and stepsons of tomatoes, pour water to the top, boil for 5-8 minutes, pour the broth along with the tops onto the nest.
When dealing with ants, dilute 1 g of 2 g of Fitoverm in 3 and abundantly spray the damaged aphids with the solution. Harvesting will be possible in 4-XNUMX days after processing.

      - There are many ways to deal with shrews, but the most effective are as follows:
put rags soaked in kerosene or tar into the mink and ground with soil:
      add onion peel or garlic cloves next to the mink;
to plant marigolds, euphorbia, onions and garlic pointwise throughout the site - these plants repel pests:
to push eggshells into minks (animals will scratch about it):
put poisoned baits near the minks, however, if there are pets or birds, the baits will need to be covered so that they can be accessed from the mink, but not outside.

      - My garden roses also suffered from aphids in the summer. I had to save them by chemical means. Although the use of such pest control methods on plants is undesirable. You can cope with aphids and folk remedies. Most often, they do not kill, but scare away the insect aggressors. The aphid does not tolerate the smell of Dalmatian chamomile and fennel, as well as lavender. Plant them near your rosary to protect the flowers. Pest and marigolds, pelargonium, nasturtium, calendula are driven away.
If the aphid has settled on the plants, treat them with a decoction or infusion of garlic, onions (onion husks), pharmacy chamomile, aconite, cowberry, marigold, larkspur, dope, tobacco, Japanese Sophora, yarrow, celandine or fresh potato tops.

      We prepare decoctions
To prepare 1 liters of 200-250 concentrate, g of any herb (or mix several types), pour boiling water or simmer for half an hour, then the broth should be allowed to brew for 2-3 days in a sealed container. Then this concentrate must be filtered, diluted with water in the ratio 1: 3-4 and then sprayed with plants. It is also useful to add green or laundry soap (40-50 g / 5 l) to all decoctions to increase the adherence of the prepared product.
The roses affected by aphids are usually sprayed in the evening. At this time, beneficial insects on plants no longer exist, so you can safely fight pests.

Dilute with cold water (1: 10), copiously spray the composition of damaged plants.

    2. In 1 l of water, dissolve on 40 of grated tar soap and vodka. Treat bushes damaged by aphids. By the way, the strong smell of this composition does not like mites, Colorado beetles and moths.
    3. Add 500 g of wood ash with a bucket of water, add 15-20 crushed garlic cloves, bring to a boil, remove from heat, dissolve chopped tar soap with hot 50 composition and strain. Spray the plants damaged by aphids.

It is good to use tobacco dust sold in stores for this purpose. It should be poured on the fire, diluted in a flat tin can (for example, from under the herring) with holes in the bottom. The tobacco begins to smolder, giving a large amount of white odorous smoke.
This “dymovuha” is placed in a greenhouse, closing all doors and air vents on the 5-8 hours. The greenhouse is filled with thick smoke, kills all small insects.

And against the Colorado potato beetle, you can use its rejection of fish. If, when planting potatoes in the hole, we put part of the head, for example, herring, then the whales immediately leave the site. This has been tested many times, it is necessary only to take care of stocks of fish material. It can be collected all winter, keeping in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator.

300 g of ash boiled in 10 l of water 30 minutes, added 40 g of soap, allowed the solution to cool and spray all the plants in the apartment. The treatment was repeated three times with an interval of 5 days. After that, the aphid disappeared.

The method described by the author really works, but you must agree that it is laborious. It is easier in the case of appearing on houseplants of aphids to use Fitoverm. 5 ml of the drug diluted in 0,6 l of water and spray the plants so that the solution fell, including on the underside of the leaves, as well as on the ground.

Repeat processing 3-4 times with an interval of 5-6 days. Spraying spend in the bathroom or on the balcony. Cut greens and pick fruits from the treated plants will be possible after 3 day after spraying - during this time the drug is completely decomposed and ceases to be dangerous to humans.

I want to share with readers my experience in exterminating cucumber aphids. Last year in the summer, after a lingering coolness, cucumbers, as never before, stuck to aphids. So much so that the leaves of the plants were covered with pests on both sides. I did not want to splash any chemicals, especially since the first cucumbers had already gone.

A neighbor in the country read somewhere about ammonia, and I just had it. I took his 3 bottles of 30 ml per 5 liters of water, mixed everything and with such a vigorous solution I abundantly sprayed each leaf on both sides and the whip of cucumbers themselves. As they say, they poured the solution without sparing - the liquid was dripping from the leaves. A day later, the procedure was repeated. When the next day after treatment I arrived at the cottage, I saw clean shiny leaves. A day later, he processed the cucumber lashes again and did not see aphids until the end of the season.

When fighting aphids, pay attention to garden ants, for which small pests become a kind of “dairy cows”. They "milk" the aphids, like a milkmaid - a cow, but instead of milk stands out a drop of sweet syrup - a favorite treat of ants. It is noticed that without them the aphid does not reproduce and perishes.
Located not far from the "herd", the ants constantly protect their "herd" from enemies - larvae of sorphid flies, lacewings, predatory beetles, etc. They transfer aphids to new "obese fields" - young shoots of uninhabited branches, which contribute to the complete infection of the garden plant . Entomologists have discovered that ants
colonies of aphids are specially settled and spread around the garden, followed by armies of other pests of the garden attacking the weakened plants. In the fall, the “milkers” carry their “cows” to the “winter apartments” in their nests (as deep as 1,5 m) in order to start all over again in the spring.
And although there are many means of fighting against aphids, they often have no effect if there are garden ants on the site. As soon as the plant, processed and cleared of aphids, came to life and began to gain strength, the ants "relocate" the new colonies of their "cows", and everything starts all over again.

Therefore, if you fight with aphids, then at the same time, and perhaps as a preventive measure, it is necessary to apply all forces to the complete destruction of ants, because they are the main culprits and the root cause of the dead crop.
We need to make every effort so that the ants cannot move freely along the trunks of trees and shrubs, and prohibit ants from climbing the tree! This means that you need to attach sticky belts to the tree trunks in a timely manner. But they need to be glued very carefully, because ants are much more agile than larvae and caterpillars, and even smaller.

This year in the greenhouse there were a lot of aphids on cucumbers. And how to treat plants with chemicals, when a grandson "grazes" in a greenhouse every day? I had to use tobacco smoke.
She placed a metal plate on the bricks, several smoldering coals on it, and a handful of tobacco on top. And she closed all the doors and windows. In the morning she came - so the aphid had already crumbled from the leaves, but the smoke did not harm the plants.

A few years ago in the garden the aphids scattered apparently invisibly.

Most likely, it was the ants who dragged her - before this invasion, they too often began to come across on the site.
But I decided to deal with them later, but for now I decided to start with their "confidante" immediately. In the struggle, she used the whole arsenal of means she had heard about, read, or asked experienced seasoners. And if, at first, she tried to apply all this in a hurry, she gradually began to create her own strategy, selecting those methods that she liked most.
As a result, she coped with the aphids, and developed her own technique. And now, if this pest is again declared on the site (from the ants, until completely to get rid of failed), then I do this.
I dilute the laundry soap in the pan (if there is one, then take a special one - green) until the foam appears, dip a broom into it and completely spray the trees with this solution.
In the same way, spray the planting with infusion of garlic (about 200 g per 10 l of water, soak for 24 hours).

Densely I pasted the trunks of fruit trees with a double-sided tape to catch the ants, which carry the aphids.
In autumn, at the very beginning of the fall leaf, I spray the trees with a solution of urea: 500-700 g for 10 l of water.

Aphids are harmful to almost all plants in the garden. Insects feed on juice, which causes deformed leaves of peppers and other crops, vital processes of synthesis, respiration, and metabolism are disrupted. Pests are afraid of spraying with cold water, household solutions (300 g per 10 L of water), tar or green (100 g per 10 L of water) soap. Extraction of wood ash also helps.
250-300 g of ash boil for thirty minutes in 10 l of water, strain, cool, add 50 g soap and spray the damaged plants.

    Iodized milk against aphids

I want to share with my readers my experience of fighting aphids. To combat this scourge, we will need: a nebulizer or 2-liter bottle, a syringe, 100 ml of milk and a vial of pharmacy iodine. Pour a liter of water into the nebulizer. In a syringe, fill half a cube of iodine, pour it into the milk and mix. Milk turns out to be a beautiful yellowish color. Iodized milk is poured into a sprayer with water, shake and you can spray roses and other plants affected by aphids.

Such a composition not only helps me to deal with aphids, but also is a prevention against fungal diseases (phytophthora, powdery mildew). This recipe has been tested for many years

There are many ways to combat this pest, including without the use of chemicals. Here are just some of them.

1,2 kg of green tops of potatoes or 600-700 g of dry pour 10 liters of water, insist 3-4 hours. Then add 40-50 g of laundry soap, foam and spray. Instead of potato, you can use dry tomato tops - 1 kg per 10 liters of water.
200 g crushed dandelion roots or 400 g of its fresh leaves insist 2-3 hours into 10 l of warm water, strain. The remedy is also suitable for fighting against a cold-chest, a spider mite.
200 g pine or spruce needles chop, pour 2 l of warm water, insist 6 days in a tightly closed container. Then wring out, strain. Before spraying, add 40 g grated soap.
Pickled horseradish leaves and leaves through a meat grinder, fill them with a third of the bucket, pour warm water to the brim, stir, insist an hour. Strain and before spraying add 40 g grated soap.
400 g of crushed dry tobacco leaves or makhorka pour 10 l of hot water. After 2 days, strain and add 40 g of green soap. This means apart from aphids scares away meds, thrips, cabbage moths, fleas.

Once I complained to my neighbor that because of the aphids the leaves on the young fruit trees were folded, she asked her advice on how to get rid of this aphid. And she advised me first of all to destroy not the aphids, but the garden ants. And she said that it's useless to fight one aphid.

It turns out that aphids and ants are connected by difficult mutually beneficial relationships ... It is the ants that spread aphids through garden plants, because they feed on the sweet nectar that it secrets.
Aphids stick around buds, leaves and petioles, suck out all the juices from them and as a result emit sweet drops, which are collected by insatiable ants. Do you think the ants took advantage of the aphids - and that’s it? No. They even move their adopters to other plants and protect them in every way!
Ants even take the aphids to wintering in their shelters and literally nurture a new generation that will feed them next year. We try to dig anthills and carry them out of the garden out of the plot, but we can not do without poisonous baits either. In the early spring we cultivate garden trees with chemical preparations against sucking insects, we put on huntings belts, so that the ants with their aphids and other reptiles do not climb the crowns.

For the prevention of aphids, ticks and many other diseases, plants should be periodically sprayed with an ash-soap solution. This procedure helps, if you do not avoid infection, then significantly reduce crop losses. For 10 liters of water - 300-400 g of wood ash. Boil the solution for 10-15 minutes. Strain and cool. Grate 40 g of laundry soap on a coarse grater, add a small amount of water, and insist until the soap is completely acidified. Add soap to ash. The solution is ready to use. After rain, treatment must be repeated.

Chemical preparations used on currant bushes did not become, and to collect herb grass (for natural infusions), for me it's hard. But grandchildren came and started to work. They always help us. Here are my recipes for dealing with aphids.

Ordinary dandelions. We collect, finely cut flowers and stems, we weigh on kitchen scales, we need exactly 500 g. Pour into a bucket and pour 10 l of warm water (heated in the sun). Infuse hours 3-4. Then sprinkle everything that the aphid had time to chew. Good treatment in the evening or after the rain.
Yarrow is prepared in the same way as dandelion. But we take on a bucket of water twice as much grass. Pour yarrow better with boiling water and insist for 24 hours. The bucket is tightly closed with a lid or tightened with a film.

Our neighbors use onion husks and potato tops in the fight against aphids. But I personally can not say how good the effect of such infusions, I used only dandelion and yarrow. Aph was as it had not happened. I also want to tell those summer residents who love chemistry. Do not rush to poison yourself and the garden, try the grass first!

Wrote there and grandmother, and grandfather, and my mother and father, and I with my husband. We write down recipes, tips, we put clippings from country magazines. I can say that many of the councils remain on paper only, because they can not be verified in practice due to various reasons. But there are a lot of really useful little things that you can not hold in your head, and opened the notebook and remembered immediately how much to mix to get the right solution. Tips and recipes that are tested in practice.

For example, many know what and how to spray plants from aphids, but, perhaps, for many, it will be a novelty to learn that after spraying (in a day), the solution must be rinsed from the leaves with a stream of water from a hose to remove the dead aphid and clean the plant from it . But you need to do this very carefully, so as not to damage the leaves.
Or here: 1 art. l. ammonia on a bucket of water.

Aphid helps on time! But you need to prepare the solution in gloves and a mask. And apply the solution should be no more than two times per season, alternating with the infusion of pepper. Recipe: 500 g hot chili pepper boil over low heat in 5 l water. Cool, insist 3-4 days. Then strain. Dilute 100 g of filtered solution in a bucket of water, add 20 g of laundry soap and spray from aphids. Very effective tool!

Aphids settle only on young, tender and juicy leaves of plants. This is either the tops of plants, or the lower young leaves. She can not gnaw old and dense leaves. Therefore, to protect against aphids need young shoots and young leaves.

The most loyal and reliable friend of the aphids is an ant. This couple is so united and in love with each other that only death can separate them. The trick is that the ant is very fond of the sweet syrup that gives off aphids. And aphids use ants as a personal car: ants carry aphids on themselves at rather impressive distances. Where there are ants, there will be aphids!

At aphids there are not only friends, but also enemies. They can be used in the control of aphids. For example, insects, birds, ladybugs, wasps, lacewings.
    Herbs: chamomile, dandelion, sorrel, yarrow.
If you plant coriander, fennel, basil, lavender near the planting of vegetables or shrubs, you can protect them from aphids, as it does not tolerate the odoriferous substances released by these plants.

But there are also plants, which, like a magnet, attract aphids to themselves. This is bird cherry, beans, begonia, petunia, linden, viburnum, mallow, kosmeja, kleoma. These crops can not be planted near plants that need to be protected from aphids. These simple knowledge can help in the control of aphids. After all, the more you know the enemy, the better you understand how to deal with it.

Aphids do not only suck up the cell sap of plants, but also release toxic substances that cause the death of plants. In addition, the natural movements of aphids deposited on the leaf surface, violate the gas exchange of plants.

In gardens and flower gardens aphids are able to transfer through the saliva viral diseases and infect healthy plants, so the harm from aphids is significant. During one summer season aphids are able to give 50 generations, which can easily ruin a site.

There are many problems from pests, but the aphids do not give rest. In my opinion, aphids are the most malicious enemy in the country, and her tastes are very diverse: fruit trees, shrubs, flowers, vegetables. Like all summer residents who want to preserve the harvest, for several seasons they fought like fish on ice, which they just did not try to fight against aphids. Especially sorry was the bushes of roses and chrysanthemums, the aphids simply destroyed them.

But she flatly refused to use chemistry. Firstly, because we have cats and dogs in our country house, and our grandchildren are small, I was afraid that the poison could somehow harm or get into the body of people or animals. Secondly, in principle, I try not to use chemistry on the site, trying to grow a natural crop.

Any folk remedy, of course, helps, but not more than two weeks. After two to three weeks, the aphid reappears. I tried the infusion of garlic, a solution of laundry soap, herbal infusions. But lately, more and more often I’m wondering whether to use chemistry ...

I read about the way how you can get rid of aphids and ants on young apple shoots with the help of orange peel. Last year I decided to check how this method works.

In July, after heavy rains, he hung a fresh orange peel on threads on the shoots of apple trees, where aphids were feasting. After a couple of days I spread out new crusts around the trunks of the same apple trees. The aphids did not disappear from the leaves, but there were no ants.

That is, no one defended the aphids, which means that it has become a tasty prey for ladybugs. Two days later, the orange peel on both branches and soil dried up, but the aphids still sat on the leaves. And I decided that nothing sensible would come of my experiment ... However, when I arrived at the cottage in a week, a pleasant surprise awaited me - the aphid was gone! Of course, the leaves that she managed to try were deformed, but the new growth was clean. Five days later, he again looked into the garden - fortunately, he did not find aphids on plants.

Experience the Power of Effective Results
Now I can say with confidence that the citrus peel is very effective in combating apple aphids. Now I’m thinking: maybe it’s worth trying the method on the berries? Perhaps it will be possible to get rid of gall aphids on currants ...

Interesting, but very unusual experiment. I know for sure that the smell of orange crusts do not like cats - so they can be discarded, for example, from actinidia, which they can spoil. Perhaps the citrus smell could scare off ants. And since they stopped "caring" for aphids, it is possible that the latter destroyed useful insects (the same ladybugs).

However, I doubt that the above-described method will work on berry-berry (against the gall-stone aphid on the currant). By the way, citrus peel can be used in the fight against aphids in the form of infusion: chopped peel from 3-4 oranges to pour 1 l of hot water (+ 40 degrees). Insist in a dark, warm place 5-6 days. Strain, add 1 st.l. liquid soap and sprinkle with this medium a plant with aphids. Repeat the processing of 3-4 times at intervals of 2-3 days.

2 the right way to get rid of aphids
The stores sell a lot of funds from aphids. Solid chemistry! And what if it hurts plants more than this aphid? So I'm acting the old way.

Method No. 1. There are plants that repel the pest. This is coriander, onion, garlic, mint, mustard, basil, marigold, lavender, chamomile, other plants, on the contrary, distract the pest on yourself. These include beans, petunia, poppy, mallow, nasturtium. They need to be planted far away from the beds, and when plants stain aphids, remove and burn. Tile is also attracted by bird cherry. If you remove the tree from the site, it is a pity, then you will have to treat it with chemical preparations.

Method No. 2. It is worth paying attention to the ants. They feed on the sweet secretions of the pest and therefore contribute to its spreading through the garden and vegetable garden. Discovered anthills and moves need to be filled with plenty of water, so that the insects moved "far away". Their disappearance very soon will cause a decrease in the number of aphids.

The moment of appearance on the plant of the root aphid can not be determined, because the main development of this pest occurs in the ground.

Only when the number of aphids increases so much that it crawls out onto the radical part of plants, we can detect it. And in the open ground it is more difficult to do, but on indoor plants the signs of the appearance of root aphids are most noticeable. Affected flowers need to be removed from other plants.

It is best to immediately eliminate both the flower and the soil. But if it's a pity, you can try to compete with aphids by spraying the aerial part and washing the root system in a solution of pyrethrum (prepare the solution according to the instructions on the package), followed by a flower transplantation into a new soil.
In order not to let plants of root aphids be affected, one must be very careful about the choice of land and must disinfect it before use.

A very common phenomenon is swollen leaves on the tops of red currants. Gardeners often ask themselves: what kind of a disease so terrible struck our bush? However, this is the result of the activity of ordinary garden aphids. and it’s easy to verify this: just turn over one such leaflet and look at it under the magnifying glass - you will see everything for yourself. The first thing that comes to mind is to treat with any drug against aphids. for example Fufanon. "Actellicus." These funds are effective, but, unfortunately, even after processing the good growth of the affected top of the plant, you can not wait. I would advise you to inspect the plants more often, especially at the beginning of the season, and if you find the first swollen leaves - immediately cut off the entire apical part.
Starting to deal with garden aphids, you must understand that in the first place you will need to destroy all the ants on the site, since they bring these insects to berry bushes.

In winter, when it's sunny, I go to the garden: at this time it's easiest to notice on the bare branches of the black shiny clumps of eggs of leaf aphid. I clean them, and in my garden notebook I mark the trees on which I noticed the traces of pests. In early spring, I spray these plants with an oil-based insecticide so that the aphids can not hatch.

    Garlic from aphids
In the spring of one of the first in the garden appears aphids, who enjoy eating young leaves of cherries and cherries. Damaged leaves of trees begin to wrap themselves in a tube, and if they are not saved from a voracious pest, the leaves will dry up.
I use garlic to fight. If the pest has appeared so far only on one plant, you can tie his trunk with garlic feathers.
But the main "weapon" - garlic infusion: finely chop 100 g denticles, pour 3 l boiling water. I insist 30 minutes, then filter, let it cool to room temperature. Now you can fill the resulting infusion with a garden sprayer and carefully process all the affected trees. If one treatment is not enough, then a few days I sprayed again. By the way, the same recipe will help get rid of caterpillars and snails in the garden and the garden.

I'm 65 years old, I have been engaged in a garden-garden for a long time, so some experience has accumulated. So I will share ways to combat pests, and then, judging by the letters, many summer residents can not find any justice in them.
The most harmful of them is, of course, aphids. I deal with her like that. I steam a bag of dry mustard, and then 2 tbsp. l I breed with water in one and a half liter plastic bottles. Well, then I just spray this planting solution (including home flowers), and the aphid disappears after that. Most importantly, this tool also disinfects plants from any fungal misfortune.
It also helps to remove the itching and rash on the skin after mosquito bites: you have to bathe in a bath, where before that you should dissolve all the same 2 st. l. steamed mustard.
Many of my acquaintances who suffer from mosquitoes (especially in early summer, when they are visibly invisible), only now they are saved.

Sometimes our cucumbers suffer from aphids. I do not want to use chemistry, that's why I have been fighting the pest for many years with the help of horseradish infusion. 200 g roots of horseradish chop and pour 3 l water. Insist 3 hours, then drain the liquid into another container, and the roots are again flooded with water and leave for another 3-S h. The infusion is drained into the same capacity as the first one.
1 a glass of the received infusion I dilute in 5 l of water. By this composition I spray the damaged aphids with cucumbers. Very effective!

    How to save trees
I'll tell you how we saved the young trees from aphids. The method is simple, but very effective.
We took a large garbage bag and carefully pulled it on the tree (on the crown). At the bottom near the trunk they gathered him in a bun. Inside the usual dichlorvos. Tied up for an hour and a half. When the bag was removed, the aphids turned black and crumbled. All the ants from the trunk are gone. Finally, the trees breathed freely and began to grow.
To get rid of the fly-drosophila, ropes, buttons, chopsticks attached sticky tape from the flies right above the flowers. After three or four days, the entire tape was already black from the midges.

The heart bleeds when you see stuck aphids tree branches or leaves of garden crops. Immediately I want to process everything by some super-means. Fortunately, the choice of drugs is now large, even if you exclude from the list of unloved chemical substances.
The most original aphid control methods that I know of are spraying the affected plants with one known carbonated drink or vodka. A simpler way is to poison aphids with tobacco smoke. To do this, dry chips must be ignited in a tin or metal container, and when they flare up, pouring tobacco into the fire can be the cheapest. If fumigation is carried out in a greenhouse, it should last 2-3 hours. If in the open air - 2 times longer.
Sunflower oil is an effective remedy for aphids. A glass of oil should be poured into an 8-liter bucket of water, add a little soap chips, stir very actively and pour the affected plants with solution. For the season, it is required to make at least 3 such "ablutions".
Can be used to control pest and needles. 1 kg of needles should be poured 4-5 L of water and insist for a week, mixing 1-2 times a day. Before spraying dilute the product with water in the ratio 1: 1. For a season to process three times.

I take it from my own garden. 1 kg of raw pepper pour Yul water and leave for 3 days. After this, the infusion is filtered, I mix 40 g of laundry soap. With this liquid, I spray everything. Over the summer I spend 2-3 processing, and vegetables grow healthy!

I have an oak tree in the garden that is 4 m high. Last year, in the second half of the summer, the trunk and branches turned black, as if everything had become covered with soot. The raid was even on the leaves. How to save an oak tree? Can this "soot" go to fruit trees and bushes?

    Reply
    • Summerman, gardener and gardener (anonymous)

Most likely, the aphid “settled” on the oak, and on its sweet secretions (honey dew) a sooty fungus began to develop abundantly. This phenomenon is quite common in nature and gardens during the mass reproduction of aphids. Sometimes there are so many aphids that its sticky secretions cover the foliage in a continuous layer, flow down the branches and trunk. Then they “Populate” with a sooty fungus, and the whole tree
gets a kind of slightly sooty soot. Particularly badly affected are aphid plums, cherry plum, pear, linden, less - apple. If an oak appeared on the oak tree, it may well "migrate" to your fruit plants in the garden. The sooty fungus itself is not dangerous. However, combined with sticky honey-dew, it prevents normal gas exchange and photosynthesis in the leaves, thus weakening the plant.
      Control measures
As soon as the leaves start to blossom, you can sprinkle the oak with an insecticide (Aktara, Actel-lick, Almetrin, Tsunami, etc. - according to the instructions). In parallel, treat and fruit trees in the garden, so that aphids do not have shelters, from where it could "settle" over the site again.
To kill the black fungus in the second half of the summer, when it starts to multiply (or when the first signs of the disease appear), spray the plants with foliage Bordeaux fluid (1-3%).
In autumn, collect and burn old foliage - it spores and mycelium of various diseases winter.
And, of course, during the autumn eradicating treatment in the garden, do not forget about the oak - it will not hurt him, either.

Aphids are omnipresent: you can find it on berry bushes, and on tomatoes in a greenhouse, and even on flowers. Getting rid of it is quite difficult.
We tried on our site and smelly smelling infusions, and watering with a strong pressure of water, and all sorts of "burning" sprays such as pepper broth or tincture of mustard. From the bushes they tried to cut the damaged branches. But the next year, we had to start all over again.
Once I heard somewhere that fumigation with tobacco is considered the best way to fight against aphids. You make a fire, make coals, put them in a bucket, and on top
on them you pour dry tobacco. You cover with a lid with holes and arrange on a site or you leave in a hothouse behind the closed doors and pane-curtains. And let it be worth it, smoldering slowly. As soon as the smoke ceases, so does the mite end.
We decided to try this method on our site. Only buckets of coal under the trees and around the bushes 1 times in 15-20 min. moved to fumigate the plants from all sides. It's amazing, but the aphids went around our landings that year. In the end, the ashes useful as a feedstuff were also received. We will use this method even now.

Each summer resident has its own ways of dealing with ants and aphids in a garden plot. I want to share my.
It is quite possible to protect the garden from aphids without the use of pesticides. A great option is the use of decoctions and infusions of various plants. Moreover, the more the plant is shredded, the better it acts. For example, I use horse sorrel for spraying: pour 300 g of roots into 10 liters of hot water and leave for 2-3 hours.
I also apply one-year increments of pine: 2 kg of needles pour 8 l of water and insist for a week, mixing every day. Before spraying, dilute with water in a ratio of 1: 10.
You can take 1 kg of potato leaves and pour 8 l of water. I insist for 3-4 hours, and then I process the plants.
With the ants I struggle so: since these insects do not tolerate the sharp smells, I put the head of the smoked herring on the anthill, cut into several pieces of garlic cloves, lay out the top of the tomato or the leaves of parsley. Unceremonious guests soon leave.
It is known that these insects do not like the smell of tansy, wormwood, mint, and anise. Green or dried leaves of these plants are laid out in places of insects.
Well helps to boil tomato tops. The more concentrated the solution, the better.
You can take a corrugated cardboard width of about 20 cm, sprinkle it with a solution of soot, the smell of which the ants can not stand.
Ground cinnamon is another remedy that ants do not like.
To remove the ants from the plot helps also the vegetable oil, which should be poured into the ant moves. In addition to this, you can sprinkle a nest with salt.

    Charm for cherry
One of the first in the spring garden appears not infamous to all aphids. Especially defenseless against her peach, cherry and cherry, in which young damaged leaves immediately begin to wrap in a tube.
Of course, the aphids have enemies in nature - they are creepers and ladybugs. Finally, chemical protective agents are available. But personally, I use a folk remedy - garlic!
    • Method No. 1. You need to take 1 clove of garlic and bury it shallow into the ground of the affected tree or plant, about 1,5-2 cm.
    • Method No. 2. If only one tree is damaged, you can tie his trunk with garlic feathers.
    • Method No. 3. Take 100 g finely chopped garlic and pour 3 l of boiling water. Insist 30 min. Then filter through a bandage or gauze folded in several layers. Cool to room temperature and pour into a garden sprayer. Thoroughly spray all trees in the garden with a solution. If necessary, repeat the treatment.
This garlic broth is effective even when attacked by other pests, the same caterpillars and snails.
