Vertical landscaping and vertical flower gardens
In order to give the garden landscape originality and scope, experts advise the use of various vertical structures, including frame flower gardens. For them, special support is required, which everyone can do.
Principles of vertical landscaping of the garden
One of the methods for creating an unusual garden landscape is vertical gardening with the help of climbing plants, whose branches rise to a height of 150-180 cm above ground level. Against the background of lush grass cover, bright columns of flowering plants are associated with flower bouquets of various shapes and heights (Fig. 1-3).

How to make skeletons and supports for landscaping
Create original green structures can be using light frames of various shapes and sizes. This is shown in the figures. What material is desirable to use?
The most affordable and inexpensive - wooden slats, bars, as well as dry tree branches. But aluminum profiles and thin tubes are quite suitable. The latter can be easily bent and interconnected using wooden elements or metal pins.
The most simple and easily executed design consists of two inclined frames made of slats, as in Fig. 1 (the same shows the connection of the inclined and horizontal crossbeams of the frames). Each frame rests on the bottom of the end walls of a wooden box, which is partially buried in the ground, and concrete blocks are substituted for its corner joints. They serve as a kind of foundation and do not allow the box to go deeper into the ground or to bend, thereby ensuring the stability of the entire structure.
To protect the wooden elements of the box and the inclined frames they are covered with acrylic or oil paint, varnish or special protective compounds from decay.
In addition to inclined structures, the most interesting is the composition of several vertical racks assembled in a kind of whatnot (Fig. 2). Racks with a section of 20 x 40 and a height of 150-180 cm are interconnected not only by horizontal bars, but also by rack racks. The same shelves serve as a place to place additional pots with plants.

Below all the posts are fixed with screws to a wooden box to ensure the stability of the structure against gusts of wind.
Such a flower garden can be painted with white enamel, which will protect the wooden elements from decay.
In addition, the white color is in good harmony with the greenery of the garden.
Probably, many gardeners will be interested in the construction of frame flower beds, formed by four inclined poles, which in shape resemble a tree. Each inclined stand is a dry tree trunk, supported by a metal disk (Figure 3). Above, all four poles are connected to each other. The inclined and horizontal elements are fastened with a cord or metal wire. Curly plants with antennae cling to the frame, crawl up, forming a green pyramid.
A similar construction is shown in Fig. 4. Here, the stand for flowers and climbing plants is made up of four wooden triangles. All of them are compositionally united and form a peculiar bouquet of height 75-80. See horizontal bars in triangles serve as a support for wooden shelves, on which pots with flowers are installed. This mini ensemble is crowned by a large ceramic bowl that unites the structure. Like in other compositions, the sectors are supported by concrete cubes, thanks to which the vertical flower garden retains its position.
Another flower garden of unusual shape, made of bent aluminum tubes {Fig. 5), can easily become a focal point, any garden landscape. In this design, each half-bar is fixed with pins on the boards, which serve as a solid base of the frame. A variety of semiarcs are connected by a thin knitting wire or a kapron thread.

Vertical gardening - do-it-yourself green tower
A nice green tower can safely be called an object of rapid reaction, because to grow it in a suburban area, you will need very little time and effort.
Modest heroes - garden bindweeds, whose stems are capable of reaching an impressive length, will help to accomplish this small feat. Perhaps one of the most suitable candidates for the role of a vertical landscaper is morning glory purple. Its shoots easily extend up to 7 m. Your task is to make them race to climb up the previously prepared skeleton, simultaneously braiding the tier behind the tier.
You can create a tower in two formats. In a container with a limited volume of land, the plant will not be so large, but more mobile. For growth, a small turret with a height of 60-80 cm, which can be placed in the aperture of the gazebo, and at the entrance to the house, on the porch or in any other corner of the garden, suffices for growth.
For open ground, the ideal is a cylindrical obelisk made of metal, plastic or wood, and a tetrahedral or triangular support is suitable for these purposes.
In the open ground, plants grow more powerful, they will need stronger support and taller - about 2-2,5 m. Important: the principle of the longline formation of the liana allows you to create a compact object that clearly meets the specified sizes and volumes. By directing the movement of the stems in a circle, we exclude the situation when the liana outgrows the height of the supporting structure. Let's try to create a compact version of such a turret.
To begin with, fill the 5-liter container with earth and insert 7 vertical pegs approximately 1 m long vertically along the edge (desired tower height + pot height). For structural strength, stick pegs as deep as possible, to the very bottom of the container. The material can serve as thin rods of hazel or willow vine. For the "construction" of tower floors, use pre-prepared rings of twigs or thick wire. Tip: the rings will be very strong if in the autumn fresh flexible rods are bent with a spiral inside a section of a thick pipe or hidden until a spring in a high saucepan of a suitable diameter. During the winter, they will completely dry and will keep their shape perfectly.
Five rings are placed one above the other at an equidistant distance and attached to the vertical struts by wire or by braiding. Alternative: the tower tiers can be made in the form of braided belts in a circular basketwork, using a flexible thin vine, the stems of a girlish grapes, a dendrike or actinidia, which were left after pruning.
Important: for basket weaving in a circle there must be an odd number of support pegs.
The tower can be made cylindrical with an open top or closed, connecting the thin ends of the rods at the top into the cone. But keep in mind that the pointed tower, adorned on the vertex with a continuous weaving, acquires additional strength.
To grow a tower with a height of only 1 m, only one plant is sufficient.
1. Sow the seeds in a container with earth where the ready-made support is already installed. When the seedlings sprout, select the strongest of them, and remove the rest. If in the spring there is not enough space on the windowsill or the "construction" of the tower is extended for a long time, you can grow seedlings in a small flower pot, and later relocate to a permanent "place of residence".
2. Wait until the stem of the young plant begins to bend and look for a support and guide it along one of the vertical support posts. As soon as he overcomes the height of the first tier, having made one or two turns above the ring, carefully remove these turns from the vertical stand
and point horizontally along the ring. Observe the previous direction of rotation - counterclockwise (if you look at the top of the stem from above). It is natural for the stalk to tend upward, so regularly monitor the top, not allowing the stalk to go astray and entwine around the nearest upright post. Important: each complete “run” along the ring strengthens the tower, and the ring itself after several circles becomes like a wreath or twisted green bracelet.
3. The horizontal location of the stem accelerates the formation of lateral shoots from the axils of the leaves. Continue to curl the main shoot in a circle, forming the 1st tier. Lateral shoots direct to vertical racks. The strongest side shoot, reaching the 2nd tier, translate into movement along the ring - it will engage in landscaping the 2nd "floor". The remaining shoots will continue to braid the vertical posts until the next tier, until the liana covers all the "floors" of the tower.
4. The lateral shoots may be larger than the tiers
at the tower - try to distribute them evenly. Keep in mind that in the upper part the shoot growth will be stronger.
5. The leaves of the creeper are located on the pedestal with picturesque rows. If the tower is covered with leaves too thick, some of them (first and foremost the largest and oldest) should be carefully cut off.
6. Fade flowers regularly pinch, not allowing tied boxes with seeds.
7. Ipomeus from the container at any time can be transplanted into the open ground. The formation of the tower ends here: all shoots are directed upwards along a new support (fence, gazebo, fence or trellis). A plant that has a powerful root system at this point is coping very quickly with the new task.

We recently installed a solid fence on a garden plot. And immediately the question arose: what plants to plant along it to revive boring structures?

Since the fence casts a shadow, plants should be selected taking into account the illumination of this place. Here the yew tree will feel good - a green tree that can be shaped into any shape. In addition, it loves moist and loose soil.
You can also plant Siberian fir here. In the spring, it will be pleasing to the eye, as it is covered with very beautiful purple cones and decorative inflorescences.
Unpretentious, but very decorative mountain ash is suitable for these places.
Already it can be safely planted in the most remote corners where other plants grow poorly. And the mountain ash will survive.
Hydrangea will also look great along the fence - it also respects the shadow, and elderberry, which is not afraid of either cold or heat.
Note
Vegetables such as carrots, beets and onions can be grown in the shade of the fence
