When and how do I need to feed currants and gooseberries?
Currants, gooseberries are unpretentious plants, but in order for them to bear fruit abundantly, you need to spoil them periodically with "goodies." In the fall, under each bush, add 100-120 g of superphosphate, 50-60 g of potassium sulfate. Once every three years, fertilize the soil with organic fertilizers - manure or humus of 12-15 kg per bush. In spring, plants need nitrogen, so immediately after the snow melts it is useful to add 80 g of ammonium nitrate under the bushes. Liquid top dressing is very effective (in early spring and after flowering, during the setting of berries), you can even use ordinary mullein diluted in water at a ratio of 1:10, half a bucket for each plant.

    A CURRANT TREE
I grow the red currant on the stem. Formed it from a seedling with a powerful vertical shoot length of 30 cm. The remaining shoots cut out, and even broke the kidneys in the zone of the future stem, leaving only 5-6 on top. The following year he formed a crown from shoots. Slish-
he shortened long combs by cutting to the outer kidney, and weak ones by cutting. All shoots appearing in the zone of the stem were removed. Currant tied to a peg: first for stability, and then - to support the bush with the crop! In subsequent years, all the buds and shoots that appeared on the stem were also removed, and the shoots growing inside the crown were shortened. If after some time the yield decreases, it will be possible to trim the skeletal branches so that the lateral ones begin to grow.
