To create a kind of carrot conveyor, which supplies juice from July to October, you can pick up varieties and hybrids of carrots of different maturation periods. To be guided by selection it is necessary to the following characteristics. Root crops should be of medium size (14-17 cm), with a diameter of 3-4 cm, and the core can occupy up to 30-50%. It is also desirable to have a gentle consistency of pulp (in this case, the juice yield will be of the order of 50-60%), high carotene content (up to 20 mg%) and Saccharum (up to 8%).
I note that the conveyor will start working in July, as in the central regions in June it is still impossible to get juicy roots of carrots: the culture has a long growing season. In the southern regions, the conveyor will work earlier.

Early varieties of carrots for juice
The earliest harvest, already in June, can be obtained from winter carrots. However, the unpredictable winters of recent years do not guarantee that carrots will winter well. And it is more likely that early (early-ripening) varieties and hybrids will give the first crop. From the appearance of mass seedlings to the technical ripeness of root crops, 70-100 days pass, and fresh juice can be obtained from July 20 to August 20.
Artek it forms orange-red, cylindrical root crops with a weak run to the base and a thickened tip, length 15-17 cm, diameter 3-4 cm, weight 80-130. The surface is smooth with slightly noticeable eyes, the head is medium, flat. The immersion of root crops is complete: this will not turn green in the light. The core occupies 35-40% of the root diameter, the flesh is orange, contains 6-7% Sugars and 9-13 mg% carotene.

In the Northern, Volga-Vyatka and Central Black Earth regions, you can also grow a hybrid Napoli F1.

Medium-ripening varieties and carrot hybrids ripen after 100-120 days after emergence.

The root crops of the Chantene royal variety, conic, 15-17 cm long and weighing 110-180 g, and NIIOKH 336, with a maximum amount of carotene up to 23%, with a yield of up to 8,3 kg / sq., Are also famous for the high content of carotene and sugars. m and good keeping quality. Late grades for making carrot juice
In later varieties and hybrids of carrots, the growing season lasts 120-150 days. Harvested from September 10 to October 10, it is well kept. To get root juice, you can use it for 5-6 months. But only if they are stored at a temperature of 1-3 ° C and a relative humidity of 75-85%.
Root crop Incomparable reaches a length of 15-18 cm and a mass of 100-180 g, it is conical with a blunt tip. Bark and core bright orange-red, contain 7-10% of sugars, 8-14 mg% carotene.

A low content of carotene can also be obtained with a lack of potassium. Carrots are second only to cabbage in terms of nutrient removal, and their potassium consumption exceeds nitrogen consumption by 1,2-1,5 times. This element enhances the formation of sugars and slows down vegetative growth somewhat.

Carrot is the second most popular vegetable in our family (it is second only to potatoes).
We eat it fresh and in salads and garnish, we prepare juices. Honestly, I deliberately taught my family to carrots, because it is an extremely useful vegetable. It has beta-carotene, which helps to strengthen immunity, improve eyesight, hair condition.
In my opinion, the maximum of useful substances is contained in fresh vegetables, so I often make freshly squeezed juice. For better digestibility, I add 1 tsp to it. cream or olive oil (a glass of juice). You can also mix it with other juices. I, for example, like to add spinach or celery juice, and my son prefers to mix with apple or peach juice.
So that carrots are enough for the whole autumn-winter season, I sow 3 small beds with it. I prefer classic varieties - Chantane, Vitamin 6, Nantes. All of them are perfectly stored in the cellar in boxes of dry sand.

I always plant more carrots in the country, so that I can drink carrot juice at least every day - an incredibly useful product. It contains a whole bunch of vitamins and strengthens the body. Carrot juice is especially useful for poor eyesight, diseases of the throat, blood, skin, liver, bronchitis.
In the country, I do not have a juicer, so I make juice with a grater or a meat grinder. I grind and squeeze. Over 15-20 mins before a meal I drink 100-150 ml of juice and I feel fine. I think carrot juice even improves the mood!

Gardeners do not really favor small carrots - it is stored poorly and it is more difficult to process it. Therefore, they try to thin out the beds with carrots in a timely manner, sometimes even more than once. And yet, if there is no time for thinning, or the soil in the garden is poor, the appearance of small root crops cannot be avoided.
Someone throws a mini-carrot into the compost, but meanwhile such root crops are very tasty! Many small carrot dishes even relate to delicacies - for example, glazed carrots. The only question is how to save miniature root crops. Immediately after harvesting, I sort the carrots. I process it into salads, whole marina, add it to mixed vegetables, and freeze it.
Fine carrots are also well stored in a 3-liter jar in the refrigerator. To do this, you need to wash and trim the vegetables from 2 sides - the tail and top, without leaving the tops. With this method, my carrots are stored until spring and even until the next harvest.
I also love small beets - it is very tasty in a marinated form. When there is no time to cook vegetables for vinaigrette, you can open a jar with ready-made, pickled ingredients and very quickly prepare this salad. And as children like to crunch mini-vegetables!

Previously, the tops of my carrots often curly. Root crops grew small, bitter. The acquaintances suggested that the larvae of the carrot leaf leaf were so harmed.
