    Peony thin-leafed (Paeonia tenuifolia)
Description. A perennial plant with a height of up to 45 cm. When the nodule is being expanded, the thin-leafed leaves look like an unknown fluffy beast because of the narrow leaves. Flowers large, non-marble, bright red. They blossom at the end of May. But unfortunately, as with most species peonies, the blossom of the finely divided plant is very short - only 5 days, and if it's hot outside, then even less.
It is included in the Red Book of Russia, although it is not at all difficult to grow it in the garden. There is a terry variety 'Plena' also with bright red flowers. Agrotechnics. It grows well in an open, sunny area. It prefers drained soil, drainage is one of the components of a successful wintering of this plant. In general, it’s only a breeze and a fear of the thin-leaved - it tolerates low temperatures normally. Unlike many varieties of hybrid peony, it is not damaged by pathogens.

Reproduction. It reproduces by dividing rhizomes immediately after flowering, or (better) in autumn. Using. Effective P. finelygreen is the place in the large rockeries, among stones it looks especially advantageous. You can use it for forcing and cutting. Even planted separately bush of this plant will look interesting.

These beautiful plants please with their huge, charming flowers in the beginning of summer. The main secret of their successful cultivation lies in the correct planting. Choose a bright sunny place for the peony. In the shade, he or not at all will bloom, or bloom will be rare and weak. I planted my first plants under the apple tree, and they did not blossom until I transferred them to a more sunny place.
For pions prepare landing pits 50-70 cm in width and depth for about 2-3 weeks before planting or even earlier. Peony roots are fragile and tender, they grow only in the treated soil. The ground for this flower should be light, fertile, with a neutral reaction. In clay soil, add 1-2 sand buckets for loosening and good drainage. In sandy soil it is recommended to add a couple of buckets of clay to
make it more dense. In the pit, compost and overgrazing manure, leaf or sod land, 300 g bone meal or ashes, according to 150 g superphosphate and potassium sulfate must be added to the pit. I do not use peat, because it acidifies the soil, and peonies do not like it.
When planting, the upper bud should be cut into 3-5 cm in clay soils and at 5-6 cm in sandy soils. If the upper kidney is bare, the plant will be ill. If the rhizome is cut too deep, the peony will never blossom. Care is watering and feeding. Loosen and weed the soil should be seldom and very carefully, so as not to damage the roots. In the spring, I water the peonies with a weak solution of potassium permanganate from diseases and for good growth. In the autumn, I cut the leaves only after they have fallen from freezing, so as not to damage the pion early.
