Since the maturation period of eggplant LLP and more days, I always buy early and medium varieties so that they can harvest before cold weather. it Maria, Galina, the Black Prince and the Diamond.
In the garden I plant seedlings at the age of 60 days. The soil should have a temperature of at least 15 °. It is necessary to water, level the bed and make holes. I don’t fertilize the whole bed, in the sense I only fertilize in the hole. I plant seedlings when it reaches a height of 25 cm and has 5-6 leaves. From fertilizers I bring in superphosphate, potassium chloride and nitrogen. I mix everything in the hole and pour it with warm water (about 25 °). Carefully turn the watered pot onto the palm of your hand and plant the seedlings of the 8th abundantly watered bed. For 1 square. I plant 4-5 plants - in 2 rows, 1 plant per hole. Mulch the beds with mowed or dry grass.

Eggplants are very moody, they are especially sensitive to weather changes. If the temperature drops to 10 ° and lasts for several days, the buds may fall. And if the heat is above 25 °, the ovaries may fall. The optimum temperature for eggplant is 24-25 °.
I water it twice a week under the root with 1-2 liters of warm water (25 °). Since the roots of the eggplant are shallow, it is better not to loosen the ground, but to mulch so as not to injure them.
I feed, planting fertilizers. In 10 liters of water, every two weeks I dissolve 30 g superphosphate, 10-15 g of potassium chloride and 10 g of nitrogen. After fertilizing, water with clean water so that there are no burns. I form shrubs only by removing small non-fruiting stems inside plants.
Watch not only the temperature, but also the humidity of the air, as with increased humidity eggplants are affected by fungal diseases.
I really like to take care of what I plant, and I plant a lot of things. But eggplants are my weakness, I have special feelings for them, because they have no equal in cooking.

In 2014 year my sickness was attacked. How much I had to re-read the literature to make a diagnosis on the basis of external signs! The leaves began to fall off, the remaining ones turned yellow, then they began to curl and fall off. It turned out my plants hit the column. With it, the roots die and the plant dies. I, of course, was not a biologist and did not know what to do, but I read that this is not treated, the severely affected plants fade. There are no varieties resistant to this disease yet. It is also written that this disease affects peppers and cucumbers.
I decided to tear up very bad bushes and burn them. Gathered fruits that ripened, but still hung on the bushes. Tore off twisted and yellowed leaves. Then she prepared an explosive mixture - wormwood, garlic, tansy, laundry soap and iodine. Insisted for three days. I washed my hands with each leaf and stem and poured this tincture under each root.
I look, like my plants cheered up. And it raised my spirits. I cheered up that all is not lost. A week later, my eggplants began to produce new leaves and ovaries.
That summer I made a vow, although I love eggplants, I can’t plant them anymore. But ... In short, in 2015 I planted them again. I was very afraid that there would be a failure again. True, the bed was in a new place. But this still does not mean anything, because this disease is difficult to cope with.

In vain do you think so, aubergines grow well in the middle band. What you did not do is difficult to determine, so I'll tell you about the mistakes most often made when growing these wonderful vegetables.
1. After planting seedlings, a weak and rare watering restricts the growth of roots, plants do not take root well.
2. During fruiting, excessive watering without subsequent loosening of the soil
leads to rotting of the roots. A rare watering and small doses can lead to the smallening and distortion of the fruit.
3. Fertilizing was not carried out or the recipe was broken, namely: at the beginning of growth, the introduction of nitrogen-containing fertilizers for the development of the stem and leaves; during flowering and fruiting - potash and phosphorus.
4. The soil is acidic, there is little potassium in it, because of what develops the vertex rot of fruits.
5. When the beds are ventilated, opening the film from both sides leads to an undesirable draft, dropping of flowers and leaves due to the fragility of the plants.
6. Sharp cooling, temperature changes, especially in the film greenhouse, lead to the development of gray rot.
7. The unventilated greenhouse after irrigation increases the humidity of the air, because of which the flowers are poorly pollinated and crumbled, the eggplant appears gray rot.
8. Rare collection of fruits. Cut them should be light-lilac, without waiting for full maturation.
9. Incorrect formation of plants: pinching of all stems, removal of side shoots, early prischipka top growth, which leads to deprivation of most of the crop.

Among the vegetables I have in a prominent place - eggplant. And although they are mainly cultivated in the southern regions, with the advent of new varieties and climate warming, it became possible to grow this crop here.
Growing conditions
This is a heat-demanding and hygrophilous plant. Seeds germinate at a temperature of at least 15 degrees. And the best conditions for the growth and development of plants are created when there is a stable heat of at least 22, but not more than 30 degrees.
Watering aubergines is necessary abundantly. The lack of soil moisture reduces the yield, adds bitterness to the fruits, makes them ugly. But do not over-moisten the soil, it can provoke fungal diseases.
Seizure care
I grow eggplant through seedlings. I sow seeds from March 1 to March 15 - 55-60 days before planting seedlings in a greenhouse. You can grow this crop in a greenhouse. The temperature regime during the germination period is -25-30 degrees heat. With the advent of seedlings, I lower the temperature during the first 6 days to 14-16 degrees.
By the time of landing on a permanent place, the seedlings must have 5-6 real leaves and a thick stem. On the eve of planting, I water abundantly. Planted to a depth of 7-8 cm, so that the root neck was at 1,5 cm below ground level. It is best to do this in cloudy weather, the soil before planting should be well moistened. Putting the seedlings in the holes, the ground around the roots squeeze and immediately watered.
Watering and feeding
