Flower nolin bokarneya at home
Nolina is a small evergreen tree, at the base of its trunk there is a swelling in which the plant stores water. For this plant, it is often called the “bottle tree” and the “elephant foot”, and for the beam of leaves - the “horse tail”.
Nolin at will and in the room
Under natural conditions, the height of the plants can reach 10 m, and the trunk diameter is about 50 cm. The roots do not grow in depth, but spread in the upper soil layer. The leaves are narrow, hard, adapted to live in a drought. In length, they can be up to 1,5 m. On sale, most often there is nolina bent with long and strong leaves.
In natural conditions, Nolina blooms at the age of 15 years with large inflorescences with white flowers. In indoor conditions, it is extremely difficult to achieve flowering.

Humidity and temperature
Nolina prefers bright illumination of a spacious southern window, after all
at home, it grows under the scorching sun of the deserts of South Mexico. At home, it is difficult to create such an atmosphere, but it tolerates everything patiently. In summer, the plant can be taken to fresh air, but make sure that water does not get on the leaves, otherwise there will be sunburn.
In the spring and summer season, zeros, well, water abundantly, but only after the soil has completely dried in the pot. In winter, watering is rare. With excessive humidity, roots and trunk quickly begin to rot, and the plant dies. Due to the dry air, the ends of the plants begin to dry, so they need a rare spraying.
In summer the plant feels well at normal room temperature. During the winter rest it is kept at lower temperatures -10-12 degrees of heat.
Council
Feed the plants only in the period of active growth once in 3-4 weeks. Use complex mineral and organic fertilizers. Nitrogen fertilizers bring noline leaves to softness, so they are used in low concentrations.
Reproduction of Nolin
The plant can be propagated by the seed method and vegetative. In the first case, the seeds are soaked in a weak solution of potassium permanganate to discard the non-viable and to protect the remaining from the germination from soil infection. For sowing seeds, trays with a mixture of peat and sand are prepared. Seeds are spread over the soil surface, gently pressed and put in a warm, bright place, covered with glass. For the germination of seeds, a lot of light is needed, so they are artificially highlighted. Seeds germinate in 3-4 weeks. When the first leaves appear, young seedlings are transplanted into the soil for adult plants.
Council
On an adult plant, nolines sometimes grow lateral shoots, which are cut off with a sharp knife and sprinkle the cutoff site with activated charcoal. Then put in a light soil and root in a warm and bright place.
Possible problems with the cultivation of valine
At the top of the nolins, the leaves are small - a cramped pot. A plant needs a larger diameter container.
Leaves lose their juicy green color - insufficient lighting and high temperature content. Change the location of the plant.
Dry leaf tips - dry air. Spray the plant to increase the humidity around it.
Of the insect pests, a spider mite, a scutellum, a mealybug are dangerous. To prevent the appearance of pests, plants should be kept clean, wipe the leaves with a damp cloth, and spray. If pests have appeared, then insecticides should be used - Actellik. "Actara." Fitoverm.
