Cucumbers on spunbond
Growing Cucumbers on a Spunbond - Tips
Three years ago I tried to grow cucumbers on a black spunbond - and now I use only this method. This year, the cucumbers on the spunbond did not let me down again, the harvest was good.
1. I make a bed of width 1,2 m and a length of about 6 m. Rakes level the surface.
2. I retreat from each edge of the black spunbond (1,5 mi wide, 6,2 m long) 40 cm long and mark two lines along the chalk (70 cm extends between them). I make cross-shaped cuts of 10 × 10 cm at intervals of 30 cm along these lines on two sides with scissors.
Spanbond I take wider, so that the edges along the perimeter can be sprinkled with earth.
3. I prepare the holes: in the place of each cut I select a soil in the bucket, add humus, a handful of ash and 1 tsp to the hole. complex fertilizer. All mixed and watered. In the holes I plant cucumber seedlings, sprinkling with the selected soil, and I water again.
4. Above the bed I arrange the metal arcs at an equal distance. And it doesn’t matter that at the same time you have to pierce a spanbond in some places - next year I will put arcs precisely in these holes. From above, while the nights are cold, I throw a white spanbond on the arcs. 5. When the plants grow up, I pull a thick wire at the top of the arcs, as if holding them together. I also tied cucumbers with twine to it. 6. Watering abundantly - 1-2 times a week. I feed every ten days under the root with a solution of “green soup”: in a barrel I mix 12 liters of water, nettle and celandine grass, 0,5 liters of horse manure or bird droppings, 2 tbsp. superphosphate and 1 tablespoon growth regulator RostMoment; before applying 1 liter of strained composition, I dilute in 10 liters of water.

5 PLUSES GROWING CUCUMBERS ON SPANBOND
1. It takes a little more time and money to prepare such a garden, but I do not throw spunbond in the fall: I shoot, shake out and fold until the next season.
2. Absolutely no need for propolok. In addition, the grass under the spunbond, without getting light, preet and rot into fertilizer.
3. If the summer is hot, sponbond retains moisture, not allowing it to evaporate from the surface of the soil. And vice versa, if the summer is rainy, it absorbs moisture well, and the plants with fruits do not touch the ground, which means they are not exposed to diseases.
4. Saving of fertile soil and fertilizers, t. everything is brought directly into the hole to the plant, and not to the whole garden.
5. Plants last longer fructify, and the collected cucumbers are always clean!

Seeds of cucumbers were sown this year twice: in the spring and in the middle of July on the spot after radish and garlic.
She spread hoops and old tires at a distance of 75 cm from each other, covered black earth with a small amount of sand, added to each circle 15-25 grams of ammonium nitrate, spilled water, sowed seeds and covered the film with a film for exactly one week. As soon as the seedlings appeared, the shelter took off and left in each circle 3 the strongest plants. Regularly watered, weeded.
I fed Ammophus in the stage of two leaves, and when bloomed, once a week used yeast: diluted 15 g in a bucket of water, added 15-20 drops of iodine and watered.
During flowering to attract bees, the plant was sprinkled with sweet water. As the seeds took the early varieties, the first cucumbers began to form in 30 days. I collected them at least once in 3-4 days, so that they would not outgrow. I had cucumbers all season!

Cucumbers with voids
Somehow noticed that in some cucumbers appeared voids. When I consulted my father (he is an experienced gardener), we came to the conclusion that, most likely, I violated the regime of watering plants.
It is generally accepted that in hot weather cucumbers need to be watered frequently and plentifully. However, the root system of plants is shallow, and regular waterlogging harms both it and the fruits, which become hollow inside. In general, cucumbers are moisture-loving plants, therefore, it is also impossible to stop watering sharply. I began to water the lashes under the root with warm water in the evenings - once every 1-3 days, and then mulch the soil. For this, I took dried grass. If you use fresh and lay it close to the roots, it can cause a plant burn.
When I was not at the dacha for a long time, I poured them very little on arrival (the abundance of moisture can provoke the growth of green mass), and after a while fed the plants with a phosphorus-potassium solution (according to instructions). More hollow cucumbers to me did not come across!

Cucumbers are one of my favorite vegetables ...
I grow them through seedlings. This year, planted 150 bushes! Cucumbers shot from May to autumn, while the neighbors have long since turned yellow. I think it happened because of accidental, unplanned hardening. As I take the seeds already processed (the favorite variety is Merenga), I only temper them. Usually at the end of February or beginning of March the seeds are soaked in a glass of warm water for half an hour, then I put it in a damp towel, which I put in a bag and leave it in the refrigerator for a day. A few hours before sowing I get out for warming up. And this year it turned out differently: the seeds were taken out, and there was not enough time for sowing, and I put them in the refrigerator again, already with sprouts. I got it the next morning and in the evening I sowed: every seed in a separate bag of peat and earth from my garden. In April, when the seedlings were a height of 30-40 cm, she landed her in a greenhouse at a distance of 60 cm from each other. Before this early spring, the overgrazed manure was patched up on the patch. Next, the plant was tied with twine to the roof, formed (cut off lateral shoots for better fruiting and airing the bushes). A day later I poured on 2-3 l on the bush, periodically loosened the soil. I fed a couple of times at the beginning of fruiting according to the instructions of Agricola and Peat Oxidate.

Cucumbers behind a pea screen
I have one problem - the wrong location of the greenhouse, which is why one side is constantly under the scorching sun. Cucumbers from that side always burned. The best option would be to turn the greenhouse 90 ″, but so far there is no such possibility. I came up with another method - last year I planted peas along the entire length of the solar wall. Sowed densely. After a while, a pea screen formed along the greenhouse, which perfectly protected the cucumbers from the scorching sun. The cucumber tops no longer yellowed, became strong, bright green, and the fruits began to appear at an incredible speed, and even so even, okay. I decided that the reason for the rapid growth of cucumbers is not only that. that they stopped overheating, but also in the fact that peas "fed" the soil with nitrogen. This conclusion was made because the cucumbers on the opposite side of the greenhouse did not have such lush foliage, they bore a little worse. But, when I fed the plants with organics, both rows of cucumbers began to bear fruit about the same. This year, planted peas along both walls of the greenhouse. Result: cucumbers were delighted with peas, and I - from the harvest of cucumbers!

Cucumbers in bottles
I want to share my experience of planting cucumbers in PET bottles. In 5-liter bottles, I trim the top and bottom, trying to shoot as little as possible (in height), but at the same time the width of the slices is sufficient to plant the seeds. I put the bottles on the plot at 5 cm in the ground (you can close to each other, and can be at a distance) and fill the garden soil, which I pour peat and ash. And the capacity is filled, not reaching the edge on the 2 finger. In each seed on 3 seeds, and then leave the most powerful plant. I feed cucumbers with yeast, ashes, nettle infusions and onion husks. They grow great!
WHAT DO WE ACHIEVE?
1. Earlier harvest of cucumbers, tk. The earth is faster and better warmed up.
2. We save water: only one 0,5 per liter is used for watering.
3 »No weeds. 4- No need to think about crop rotation: for the winter, shake out the ground, remove the bottles in the shed, and fill the spring with a new mixture.
