If we continue the theme of diversity and exclusivity, then why not turn to this culture. Beans, after all, can be different, although one thing can be said about it: if you grow up, you will not regret it.

I know about beans from childhood. I'm from Ukraine, and there this plant is planted all. And everyone loves it, because it is indispensable in home cooking: in borsch, vinaigrette, and simply with fried it is good or even with sugar. And in general, beans are almost like meat. My mother told me that during the hard post-war years, when the food was very bad (the same meat could only be dreamed of), they only survived due to it. It is clear that when I started my dacha, I began to grow beans. Initially sowed only white, but it did not always ripen, and bugs, it used to happen, it started. Once acquaintances brought me a bag of red beans, and since then it's my favorite. At the same time, I constantly (but little by little) experiment with its cultivation. And I want to tell you how I did it last year.
Before planting, the beans were soaked for the night in plain water. And the next day, when potatoes were planted (it was 9 in May), then, in one well (to which previously she threw a handful of humus and ash and 1 tsp complex fertilizer), along with the tubers, she dropped one facial liner.

The summer was rainy, the potato plot was not watered for the entire season even once. Hooked up potatoes with beans as expected - twice. I didn’t feed landing. And the yield of both crops was excellent. Apparently, they liked the neighborhood, and the plants helped each other. I scored almost three buckets of bean pods. Then she distributed them to children and grandchildren, treated her neighbors, and also gave them seeds for planting. In general, I am very satisfied. The product is wonderful. It has few calories, but many benefits.
And I also want to write one simple recipe that I liked very much. Boil the beans, cool (and here is one trick: the first water when cooking should always be drained, then pour already cold water and cook until cooked). After this, pass the beans through a meat grinder along with several cloves of garlic, add a little mayonnaise, mix. Everything, refined paste is ready. Those who like spicy foods can be sprinkled with black ground pepper to taste. And with soup, and with borsch, and with sausage - tasty and healthy. And most importantly, almost for free.
It is possible to put the bean pods into use with advantage: 2 st. l. this well finely chopped, add 10 fruit hips and 1 st. l. oats. Then all pour 1,5 l water, boil over low heat 10 min. and insist 2-3 h. (if too lazy to fiddle, then you can pour boiling water in a thermos). And then got the infusion to drink half a glass before eating. This is an excellent tool for lowering blood sugar and cleaning blood vessels. It is checked up on itself.

Since I mentioned my health at the dacha, then I will tell you about aromatic herbal tea. This year I visited the Crimea, treated my joints a little, and rested. So, there are all phyto-shops where they sell different herbal teas and you can order a cup of tea with a spoonful of honey, sit at a table, please yourself. I also love tea from different herbs, I try to arrange from three to five different herbs.
So my mother also taught. As a child, we dried the leaves of raspberries, wild apple and currant, cherry twigs, peppermint, rose leaves, marigolds, flowers and leaves of hawthorn, petals of cornflowers, sunflowers. Always harvested and St. John's wort, chicory (in Ukraine it is called Petrov Batog), which is very good for disorders. A mixture of hypericum, mint and raspberry leaves improves digestion, relieves pain, nausea. From the leaves of currant, a drink is obtained that reduces the level of sugar in the blood (in diabetes mellitus, there is no better way). Infusion of raspberry leaves (as well as berries) is an excellent help for colds and heat. And tea from leaves and twigs of blueberries will help with inflammation of the kidneys, removes protein from the kidneys, stimulates the pancreas, and lowers blood sugar. Tea from oregano and chamomile is good to drink in the morning - it invigorates.
But my favorite drink is linden blossom tea. Well, there is one pleasure. Now at night I always drink a cup of this tea with a spoon of honey - and the dream is sound, calm. And I’m going to tear the linden to the neighbors, a huge tree grows near their house on the street. And you know, just a miracle, this year, in the spring, I saw a little sticky in my boundary, I was very happy. Over the summer, the tree has grown, and next spring I will transplant it to a convenient place.

And to prepare all these miracle drinks is very easy. 1 tbsp. l finely chopped raw materials pour a glass of boiling water and insist for at least 30 minutes. Tea cools down a bit during this time, but it’s for the better, because it’s harmful to drink boiling water. If you brew branches of raspberries, cherries, lingonberries, then they need to be boiled over low heat for 10 minutes. and insist 30 minutes. If you have your own apples and do not treat the trees with poison, add thinly sliced peel of apple fruits to drinks. And instead of lemon - quince fruit slices.
So, my dear, hide all these purchased newfangled teas (even well-known companies) and move on to your own home made vitamin drinks. Just do not overdo it, because everything is good in moderation.

FILLING FOR BORS
This recipe was presented to me by my mother-in-law. It is very convenient when you come home from work, there is no time, and the family needs to be fed. Eating broth is good. No - even on the water, adding potatoes, you can make delicious borscht very quickly.
FOR PREPARATION, YOU WILL NEED 1,5 kg of beets, 2,5 kg of white cabbage, 2 kg of tomatoes, 1 kg of onions, 1 kg of carrots, 0,5 kg of sweet pepper, 0,3-0,4 kg of beans, 1 glass of vegetable oil odorless, 3 tbsp. tablespoons without a slide of salt, 1 tbsp. spoon of vinegar essence. And of course, 0,5-liter jars for the finished product (it will turn out to be 9-10 liters). Such a jar is just enough for making 3 liters of borscht.
After washing the vegetables, I pass them through the combine. Soak the beans in advance and boil until tender. I cut cabbage and peppers into short strips - so it is more convenient to lay out the cans and then eat.
Pouring oil into a saucepan with a thick bottom, heat it and over high heat, stirring constantly, fry the onion until golden brown. Then, reducing the heat to medium, add the tomatoes and carrots, add some salt.
Stirring regularly, let the vegetable mixture boil well and give juice. Then I add the beets, boil a little - cabbage and pepper. Sometimes the vegetables are not very juicy and you have to add water (maximum 1 glass).
I pour in the essence and put the beans right after it. Boil means it's ready. I put it in sterilized jars, close it with boiled lids, put it under a fur coat. It turns out delicious, the vegetables are a little sweet, not sour, and the vinegar is not felt. It is better to store such jars in the cellar, but last year they were successfully stored under my bed in the coldest room.

SALAD WITH EGGPLANTS AND WHITE BEANS
If you love eggplant, as I love them, then this dish will suit your taste.
FOR 2 KG OF EGGPLANTS I take 0,5 kg of dry white beans, carrots and bell peppers, 1,5 kg of tomatoes, 200 g of garlic, 70 g of salt, 1,5 cups of sugar, 0,5 l of fragrant sunflower oil (a hint of fried seeds gives the salad a special charm) and 100 ml of 9% vinegar. All this splendor fits in about 12 half-liter cans.
I soak the beans in water overnight and boil until half cooked. Pass the tomatoes and garlic through a meat grinder. I cut eggplants and peppers into large, 2-3 cm cubes. Rub the carrots on a coarse grater.
Pour the tomato-garlic mass into a large saucepan, put it on the fire and add salt, sugar, oil, vinegar. You have to stir constantly so that the dish does not burn. RIPE BEANS SALAD
What I like about this salad is that you can use overripe asparagus beans in it, which can no longer be prepared according to traditional recipes. And to it I add ordinary grain beans - red or white. At one time, I cook 4 cups of beans until tender.
I MAKE MARINADE: for 1,5 liters of tomato juice I add 120 g of sugar, 3 tbsp. tablespoons of salt, 350 g of vegetable oil, bay leaf, allspice and hot pepper.
First, I boil carrots (20 kg) pre-cut into slices in the marinade for 1 minutes, then add chopped bell pepper (1 kg) and cook for another 10 minutes. I throw onions cut into half rings (2-3 large onions) to the vegetables, add beans after 5-10 minutes. Everything is stewed together literally for 5 minutes, after which I pour in 100 g of 9% vinegar (less) and cook for another 20 minutes. I lay out the vegetable preparation in pre-sterilized half-liter jars, roll it up and wrap it up. In winter, this salad goes with a bang.

VEGETABLE CAVIAR WITH BEANS
Tomatoes, peppers, onions, carrots, and of course beans - each ingredient requires 1 kg.
I pre-soak the beans and boil until tender. Carcass tomatoes and peppers in a saucepan with a thick bottom. I fry the onion with carrots in a saucepan, then mix it all, add 100 g of vegetable oil and keep it on low heat for another 20 minutes. Then I pour in 7 tbsp. tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, mix, immediately put in jars, trying to ensure that the juice in each was approximately equal, and roll up. They cool down under the covers.

I love growing bush beans. My mother was Ukrainian, and my father was a working Cossack, and the beans loved everything in our family. Now there are no parents, but we, their children and grandchildren, are still growing and preparing grain beans. I do not know the names of the variety, it was raised by my mother, and I really like it.
I plant in mid-April, when the land in our south is already warming up well. I plant two grains in a row after 15-20 cm. Between the rows - 70-80 cm. When the beans bloom, it shrubs very much and the rows close, therefore weeding is necessary only at the beginning, and then the bushes grow and the weeds under them no longer grow .
But it is necessary to spud it, as from strong winds the bushes can lie down. And further care is simple - occasionally watered, that's all. Blades ripen all at once, and it is not necessary to collect gradually. When they dry, you can cut them all off at once and clean them. If there are a lot of beans, it can be spread on the bedspread and trampled underfoot: the grains will spill out, and the remains of leaves and shoulder blades are removed manually.
After cleaning, the grain must be dried for 5-1,5 days in the sun (fry). That's all - the grain is ready. I store it in plastic bottles with a volume of 2-7 liters from under the water. Pour into bottles, adding cloves of garlic, about 10-XNUMX pieces per bottle. So beans are stored for up to five years. Regardless of the shelf life, germination is good.
I think our beans, especially those who do not live in the south, this bean is perfect for growing, since it has a small growing season, and where summer is short, it is important. Seeds can be bought at any store. Take the grains of red color, this is exactly the bush bean. And who needs green spatula, you can also use it, while the pods are still green.

Most likely, the lack of potassium and (or) water appeared. Water the beans moderately, maintaining the soil moisture within normal limits. Before sowing (and even better - in the autumn), fill the garden with potash fertilizers. If this happens again in the new season, try to feed the plants with potassium salt or potassium chloride (2-3 g per 1 sq.m).

Beans like when dry
Bean is said to be a southern plant and matures poorly in Central Russia. Perhaps the 8 northern regions the way it is. But with us. in the Penza region, I plant it every year and always harvest a good crop.
When there is no meat in the house, I easily replace it with beans. Dozens of dishes can be prepared from it - from salad to cake. But in order to get from this vegetable everything that he can give us, we must be able to save it. Since our climate is not hot, first of all, I dry the beans properly. Well, if it was a hot summer and she managed to mature and already dry in the garden. But even in this case, just in case, I warm it in the oven at 50 °. I spread it in an even layer on a baking sheet and keep it for about an hour. Warming is also necessary in order for the larvae of bean kernels, which are the first enemy during storage of beans, to die.
Then I sort out the beans, removing the damaged ones. After that, I store the beans before frost in the refrigerator, and then I hang a cotton bag with beans on the carnations in an unheated room. I add a few cloves of garlic or dill seeds in the pouch, the smells of which scare off pests.
If there are a lot of beans, I fall asleep after warming it in sterile jars under metal covers.

Bean beds
In the summer, I grow beans in the country, and with the arrival of cold weather I arrange beans "beds" on the windowsill. Only varieties I use dwarf, shrub and early ripening. Seeds wrapped in a day in a damp cloth, after which I sow a glass. To ensure that the seedlings do not stretch, immediately after their appearance, I place cups on a light loggia, where the temperature is about 15 °. After 5 days I put it into the room. As 3-4-th leaf appears, I take out plants with a clod of earth and transplant each into an 2-liter pot. I water the beans in the mornings so that by the night the top layer of soil is almost dry, I feed every 2 weeks. Sorts for home-growing I recommend these.
Purple baby is an early ripe, unpretentious variety. On a bush with a height of 35-40 cm, 14-16 purple pods are formed.
Deer king - this variety has white grain, low bushes. You can get several crops in a year!
Sonesta is distinguished by spectacular bright yellow pods with white beans.
