Its seeds of wild strawberry (Orel region)
Cultivation of strawberry seeds
Recently began to grow seeds. Of course, the process is labor-intensive, but it's worth it: plantings are strong and healthy.
And the whole secret is in the seeds. Here bought, in bags of 5 or 10 pieces, they come up very badly: if a couple hatch, then this is already, consider it lucky. And then, if you suddenly overlook, then they will die, but there is no replacement for them. In general, it will take a lot of money and time, but the output is empty.
Another thing is their seeds. If you are not too lazy to carefully cut them from ripe berries (it is still important that the varieties are only zoned, without vagaries), crush on a saucer and dry, they will all be well sprouted.
Well, now about how I treat them. I put it in a box of earth in February, put snow on top and put it on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator for 4-5 days. Then I take it out - and on the windowsill. As soon as the shoots appear, I use a toothpick to take out a plant and transplant it into plastic cups with holes in the bottoms. I put everything in a box from under the cake, cover it with a lid.
Twice a week sprays are sprayed with water from a spray gun. So they live with me until March, when the weather gets warmer. After that, I put them on a closed balcony and hold them there until June.
Then I translate to the dacha, I plant it on the bed and throw in the covering material to make the plants more comfortable to take root.
After a week I take off the cover, and by that time the strawberry is already beginning to grow large leaves. If there are mustaches, I cut them off. The next year these bushes begin to bear fruit.

Now tell about the grades. At one time I had Kokin's early, Festival, Slavutich, Naiden, Zenga-Zengana, Geneva, Bohemia, Mary, Makovka, Ruby pendant, Hanyuan. Good, in general, varieties, but not without cons. And in the end, I exchanged all of them for the three favorites that suit me in everything.
The first grade is Red Gaunt-years. He has large, round, sweet berries, weighing about 60 g, the bushes are tall, powerful, give a lot of mustache. The second grade is Gigan Tella. The berries are even larger, weighing up to 100 g, look like someone has glued two large balls together. At first, when I just started growing, I was embarrassed by this: look, the fruits seem to be ripe, and their tips are still white. You’ll try, and the berries are already sweet, sweet,
a little more - and overripe. Now I'm used to this feature. Bushes at Gigan-Tella are also large, but they give little mustache. And finally, Marshall. The berries are also large, weighing up to 60 g, insanely sweet, in shape resemble a cone. This variety also has its own peculiarity: the first fruits are the largest, and the rest - as if hiding behind them.
And also - the Marshall's mustache is very fond of the larvae of the May beetle, it is for them like a real bait.
Last year, could not resist and bought 10 a mustache of a new variety of Profession. Worth very expensive, but curiosity overpowered (besides it is a patchwork strawberry, and about its merits in the magazine have already written). Yes, and you know that a real summer resident, even if everything is in order, on the achieved never stops.
In general, after harvesting the onions, I dug up a five-meter bed, brought in a bucket of horse manure and a liter of ash, spilled everything well and put the bought mustache into one “trickle”. And a week later they bloomed - that’s what a repair grade means! I cut off the flowers on all but two, and already in September they presented me with sweet berries, each of which was 30 grams each. These two bushes formed one stem at the end of the season, and the rest, from which the flowers were torn, gave out 3 trunk (or, as we say, "horn") and 6 antennae. In winter, I covered them all with spruce branches, and they wintered well.

In one place, I usually grow strawberries for three years (sometimes, if there is no May bug, four), but each year I plant 4 young brooks, without cutting off the mustache. And in the second year, the beds are covered with a continuous carpet of strong healthy bushes. Berries are always clean. In general, I have all strawberry plantings made in 3 "brooks", and between the beds there are wide boundaries lined with hay. Maybe this will seem irrational to some, but it’s very convenient to take care of the plants.
In the autumn, I cut large leaves, I dig up the ground with a pitchfork, I spill it well, I don’t add any fertilizers - I strawberry enough good watering and sprinkle ash. The bushes become fluffy, shiny and cover themselves. You can, of course, handle the planting only for this there will be no enough strength and humus reserves.
I wish all the dacha owners good health and great success in the garden and in the garden!

I will not take other people's services and say that this method of growing strawberries from seeds was invented by me, but, having tried it in practice, I can say that it works perfectly. So, I first lay the bottom of a small plastic container in several layers with toilet paper and moisten it from the sprayer. Then I scatter the seeds, cover them and wait for them to come on. Sometimes I aerate and, if necessary, moisturize.
And so it happened. Then I take peat pills of small diameter, I spread them into a larger container and pour water on the bottom so they swell. After that, in each tablet using a wooden toothpick, I place one sprouted seed one by one and with the same "garden tool" I gently stuff the roots. The container is covered with a lid to create a special microclimate inside. Then, every peat tablet with sprouted seedlings put in a separate glass, pouring the sides of the soil. By the way, you can safely fall asleep to the cotyledonous leaves.
If you sow the seeds of strawberries in the period from January to March, then by the spring season you can get a full seedling.
There are, of course, nuances. For example, in January-February, the days are short, so I lighten the plants. When seedlings are in tablets, I pour water, pouring water on the bottom of the container, and then peat itself takes moisture as much as it needs. Otherwise, a jet of water can simply wash away the tender shoots. Well, the water itself should be permanent for at least 24 hours.
And yet - you need to plant only fresh seeds. Tested: the old will not bend over, no matter how much you wait. In the pictures - shoots of alpine strawberries Yellow Wonder, perennial, yellow-fruited, bezos.
