St. John's wort grows in my garden. I prepare medicinal raw materials during the flowering period. I cut flowers with leaves and stems several times a season. I dry it in the attic or under a canopy. The layer should not exceed 7 cm. End of drying
I determine it by the degree of fragility of the stems - they should not bend. I brew St. John's wort and drink it as tea. It helps with many diseases. Infusion: 5 tsp. chopped dry grass, pour 1 tbsp. boiling water, leave for 2 hours, filter. I drink 1/3 tbsp.

3 times a day after meals for insomnia, irritability, fatigue for a month. You can rinse your mouth with the same infusion to strengthen your gums and eliminate bad breath.

St. John's wort is best planted in open and sunny places. The plant develops better on not very heavy and slightly acidic soil of medium moisture.
Seeds of St. John's wort are sown superficially early in the spring, and better - before winter. Young plants bloom in the second year.

The bushes are divided in April-May or late August-early September.
    In treatment
Decoction for headache, dizziness: 1 tbsp. dry herbs pour 200 ml of boiling water, cook over low heat for 15 minutes, leave for 1 hour, strain. Drink half or a third of a glass 3 times a day.
By the way, flowers can be used to paint fabrics in red and orange colors.

St. John's wort is known for its useful properties, but I have not seen it anywhere in the district. So I decided to put him in the garden. When and where is it better to sow St. John's Wort? Will the gardener have the same medicinal qualities as the field?

All species from the genus St. John's wort - Hypericum - are quite familiar, they are found almost everywhere. They grow mainly in dry places: on the edges and glades of pine forests, upland meadows, on sandy and sandy loamy soils. It is known that plants that grow under natural conditions have the most pronounced healing properties. Their cultural counterparts are less effective when used as prophylactic and medicinal products. However, if there is a need to grow this plant on a personal plot, you should adhere to some rules.

St. John's wort is a very unpretentious plant, so you should not allocate the best, most fertile areas of your garden for its sowing. For its cultivation, any well-lit area with light sandy soil is suitable. St. John's wort should be sown in early spring (after stratification) or in September-October with freshly harvested seeds. St. John's wort usually blooms in the 2nd year. Planting care is extremely simple: weeding, loosening, watering during droughts. When purchasing St. John's wort seeds in a trading network, it should be remembered that there are several decorative varieties of this plant that do not have healing properties.

Even in animals that eat a lot of St. John's wort, there is a strong allergy. Large dosages of this plant are very dangerous for humans. Even if you brew a pinch of grass on a glass of water and use this infusion every day, a person's stomach, liver and pancreas can be damaged. Here you need to know the exact dosage, so you need the help of a specialist. Self-treatment is excluded!
