My site is very small, therefore it is necessary to combine a flower garden with a kitchen garden: I turned the edges of vegetable beds into flower beds. Since in the autumn we are plowing the garden with a motorized unit entirely, then mostly bright and unpretentious annuals grow there: marigolds (tagetes), calendula, Dalmatian chamomile.
To make the plants better bush, and flowering was continuous until the fall, I remove the fully opened inflorescences even before they begin to fade. From marigolds and chamomile I prepare infusions for spraying the garden and the garden with aphids and leaf-eating caterpillars.

And I am preparing the inflorescence of calendula for the winter: I spread it in a thin layer on a piece of paper, dry it and lay it on cardboard boxes from under the sweets.
In winter, water infusion of petals (1 tbsp. L. Pour a glass of boiling water and insist 1 hour in a thermos) - first aid for colds. At the slightest discomfort, this infusion needs to gargle. It is very effective for stomatitis and gum disease.
When my granddaughters began to grow, the infusion of calendula helped them quickly overcome skin problems.
In the morning and evening after washing, they rinsed the face with infusion, diluting it in water, so that there were no dark marks left on the skin. If the pimple still jumped out, then at night a lotion of steamed petals was applied to it.

I want to share with readers the recipe for an old English drink from a cold, which always saves me.

As soon as I feel that I have caught a cold, I am immediately treated with the tried and tested product: I warm up the beer (I do not bring it to a boil), I add grated lemon zest, at the tip of the knife, ground cinnamon and cloves.

I rub 3 chicken yolks with 4 tbsp. l sugar to make foam. Stirring, add the yolks with sugar to the hot beer, warm it up to thicken (you can’t boil it), drink one glass of such a drink - and under the covers. The cold goes away very quickly!
