Chelated fertilizers - what is it?
Chelation form of fertilizers
In recent years, the term "chelating fertilizers" has burst into the lexicon of gardeners-gardeners. Not everyone understands what it is, and probably most do not apply them.
And we are talking only about the possibility of metals, which are necessary for any living creature, including plants, to be built into organic compounds. In the end, it is in this form is iron in the human body, and it, according to scientists, it would be enough for a nail of solid sizes.
Organic inorganic
Scientists managed to obtain such organic compounds that retain ions of various metals in the soluble state. This is what plants need, which easily "swallow" such a "metallized dish". And it perfectly influences all metabolic processes occurring within our "green friends".
The basic microelements, without which plants are difficult, include iron, manganese, copper, zinc, boron, molybdenum and cobalt. They activate photosynthesis, participate in the production of enzymes, irreplaceable in the metabolism. Thanks to micronutrients, drought and frost resistance, resistance to diseases increase, the growth and development of plants is accelerated.
And in the end this has the most positive effect on crop yields and quality improvement.
Note
In the absence of microelements in the diet of plants, the imbalance of all vital processes that occur in them begins. This threatens a sharp decline in yield and even plant death.
Commercially available chelated fertilizers are offered in the form of a water-soluble powder or a highly concentrated solution. They contain 3-6% of microelements.

What are the advantages of the chelate form of fertilizers
Chelate fertilizers are much more quickly absorbed by plants and at the same time contain all the micro and macro elements they need, which directly affect their vital functions.
Since they are absorbed by plants almost completely (according to numerous studies - by 90%), the amount of such fertilizers required for the normal development of plants is much less than any other mineral fertilizers absorbed by no more than 20-30%. So, for foliar top dressing of tomatoes on an industrial scale, no more than 1 l / ha of chelated fertilizers is needed, while top dressing with conventional formulations is measured in tons!
And on the scale of dacha and garden plots for processing all plants during the season, one small bottle will suffice. This allows us to say that the effectiveness of the effect of chelating fertilizers on the growth and development of plants exceeds all other forms of mineral fertilizers in 2-10 times.
It should also be noted that metal ions remain in the soluble state until they enter the plants, and therefore fertilizers are not wasted. In addition, they are not toxic, are not susceptible to destruction in the ground by microorganisms, are stable in any soil, are not bound by it, and this allows plants to freely consume the batteries they contain.
