This year, for the first time, has grown Chinese cucumbers. Judging by the picture on the package, they should have grown thin and long, but they turned out to be plump, with a hard crust and tasteless. Maybe overseas varieties need to be grown in some special way?

      - Chinese cucumber is not the most demanding plant to care for, but there are subtleties in growing it.
The age of the seedlings should be no more than 30 days from the moment of emergence to planting on the site.
It can be planted in a greenhouse at the end of May, and in open ground at the beginning of June.

The land on the site should be loose, moisture - and breathable. To loosen the soil, add river sand (1 square meter bucket).
Water the plantings with warm water daily, but do not allow moisture to stagnate.
Grow Chinese cucumber on a trellis - this way the plants will better pollinate and develop.

This year I tried to grow Chinese cucumber F, Emerald Stream. Growing it through seedlings. Shoots appeared quickly, spore went up in growth and, clinging to a trellis rope, soon grew to the roof of the greenhouse.
I did not think that cucumbers really grow big. But the biggest one reached the 56 cm bar! Yes, even though last summer we were not spoiled with warmth and it was cool in the greenhouse, but this cucumber provided us with juicy fruits all summer.

One cucumber is enough to make a salad for the whole family. And the productivity was simply amazing. When asked what the lack of cucumber is, one of the household said that you do not know where to put such a breakthrough. And we called this cucumber "cucumber sausage."

Chinese cucumber can be grown in the same way as ordinary cucumbers. True, some nuances must be taken into account. In particular, their seed germination is somewhat lower, so it is better to put seeds with a margin in the hole. And grow only on a trellis. The fruits lying on the ground are deformed.

Hybrids of Chinese cucumbers, according to manufacturers, are more resistant to disease and cold snap. This year I also tested 3 hybrids, including one white-fruited. Cucumbers to taste (if this word can be called monsters 30-50 cm long) are sweeter than ordinary ones. I did not notice any special taste differences between green and white-fruited. However, by the shock effect, the “blond”, of course, was in the lead. Of course, these cucumbers, like ordinary ones, need to be fed regularly. They are formed strictly in 1 stalk and grown only on a trellis so that the fruits are formed even and long (although, most likely, it will not be possible to do without exotic in the form of a “knotted knot”). There are many male flowers on plants, but the yield is more than decent. The conclusion is this: for the family for the season 3 bushes are enough to eat - after all, the “Chinese” are unsuitable for harvesting.

This year, for the first time, she grew Chinese cucumbers. Judging by the picture on the package with seeds, they should have grown long and thin, but turned out to be about 20 cm long, very thick and with a hard skin. Maybe they somehow had to be grown in a special way?

There are no particular differences in the care of such cucumbers, unless it is desirable to grow them in a greenhouse. Therefore, the author of the question is most likely not lucky with the seeds. In general, complaints about the seeds of Chinese manufacturers, especially those bought on the Internet, are often heard.

And sometimes at gardeners plants grow not only varieties other than the picture, but even other species. Therefore, in the future, I advise you to give preference to the seeds of proven producers.
