WINTER FLOWER AT YOUR HOUSE - FLOWERS AND CARE
Probably each of us remembers the pre-Christmas tale of the evil stepmother who sent her adopted daughter to the forest for snowdrops in winter. It turns out that in every fairy tale there is a thread of truth. And she is that In the middle of winter you can get in the home flower garden not only blossoming snowdrops, but also a number of other flowers. Let's talk more about how to do this.
Bulbs - Hyacinths, Daffodils, Tulips
It is much easier to get them to bloom in the middle of winter, they usually start lovers of flower cultures, as it were, stuffed their hands. For the forcing of bulbous cultures, be sure to take the earliest varieties, the timing of flowering can be found on the packaging with bulbs. Why early? Yes, because they are already adapted to germinate and grow in the most unfavorable conditions for this — a short bottom, a cool, often lack of moisture.
Choose the most well-developed bulbs, they should be massive, large. Next, select the appropriate container for them. The ideal option is to make it twice as high and three times as large as the bulb diameter. Be sure to provide a hole at the bottom of the container so that excess moisture passes through it, rather than accumulating in the base, and place a small layer (about a centimeter) of the smallest expanded clay for drainage.
In December - you can start at the beginning, you can do it in the middle of the month - the bulbs should be placed in such containers filled with the usual flower substrate, which can be purchased at any flower shop, and put in a not too dry and necessarily dark room, for example, in the pantry, which is often located next to the bathroom.
Then watch out for when the bulb begins to come to life and give the first sprout. After that, it should immediately be placed in a bright room with a temperature of about 22 degrees above zero and humidity preferably more than 80%, or about. It remains to maintain the soil in a wet state and have patience to wait for flowering.
DIKLITRA BEAUTIFUL
In addition to the bulbous ones, it is possible to make a beautiful ditchiter in order to blossom in an unusual time for this business. This plant has magnificent purple-pink flowers, arranged in large bud-like inflorescences.
The flowers are usually dug out from the site as late as possible in autumn, placed in a cloth, and in December they are planted in a container, which by that time should be filled with a mixture of turf soil and river sand. After that, the container with the planted plant should be put on the glazed balcony, but there you should try to maintain the temperature around 10 degrees, preferably not higher.
All this time, it is imperative to monitor the maintenance of soil moisture at an optimal level, not allowing it to dry out too much, but also not over-wetting the soil, too. Watch for the appearance of sprouts: as soon as they appear, the container with the plant should be placed in a room on a southern sill or just in a well-lit place.
Usually at temperatures around 22 degrees, plenty of light and moisture flowers will appear in February, sometimes a little earlier, sometimes a little later. The plant blooms under favorable conditions for up to a month.
BTW
The resulting flowers can be cut to decorate the room, well, or keep the pots alive, then they naturally will bloom longer and give joy and fragrance.

IRIS LOW
Another wonderful flower culture that you can quite easily wake up in the middle of winter is low iris. They plant it in pots around the beginning of December and put it on the balcony, where the temperature should be maintained at about 10 degrees Celsius. The containers are usually kept there until the end of January, sometimes a little less, sometimes longer - in general, until the shoots appear, after which they are transferred to the living room, where once a week an earthen lump needs to be watered well and once every ten days spray the plant with spray water. The flowers will not take long to wait, at a stable plus temperature they will appear quickly, however, flowering will not last long, usually no more than a week.
CROCUS SPRING
Lovers of spring flowers are recommended to distill the spring crocus. This nodule plant can be purchased in a store and planted in the ground in early or mid-December. If the capacity is large, then you can plant up to a dozen nodules of this flower culture in it. Moreover, there is absolutely no need to look for deep containers, and those that have a height of about ten centimeters will be fine.
The containers should be placed on a balcony with a temperature of about 12 degrees and the soil should be kept slightly moist. Usually, containers are brought into the dwelling a week before the New Year, after which the clod of earth is well moistened. Flowering usually begins in late January, sometimes a little earlier, sometimes later. Long-lasting flowering can be achieved by placing the plant on a southern windowsill and keeping the soil slightly moist.
MAY LANDISH
This flower will bloom much earlier in May, if you plant it in early December in pots with soil for flowers. When planting, pay attention to the kidneys on the planting material, it should be placed so that it is dull buds, and not those that have sharp tips, were in close proximity to the soil surface. After planting, the soil should be watered well and put the pots in the pantry, where it is dark and warm.
As soon as sprouts appear, flowers should be put on the southern window-sill, and then by the New Year the first inflorescences will be seen.
IMPORTANT
If you want to prolong flowering as long as possible, you will have to sacrifice comfort and keep the temperature around 16 degrees by ventilation: the higher the temperature, the shorter the flowering will be.
Snowdrops
This is also a bulb culture, its bulbs are on sale for free - we buy, select the largest and most well-developed ones and plant on the heel of the bulbs in a standard flower pot. Suitable for planting ordinary soil for flowers.
