UNUSUAL VARIETIES OF ROSES OF VARIOUS COLORS
Roses, as well as other cultures, have many similar varieties, sometimes almost identical. But often breeders indulge us, surprising with unusual colors.
There is no really desired blue rose, but there are varieties with flowers of different varieties of lilac, lilac, and violet. The most famous of them, the closest to blue is Rhapsody in Bluewhich belongs to the group of Shrabs. It is a rose about 120 cm tall with purple-violet flowers with a white center and golden stamens. In the sun, over time, the color will fade to pale lilac with a slightly grayish tint.
FOR THE NOTICE
Rose growers believe that lilac and purple varieties of roses in conditions of central Russia are not sufficiently stable. And I have no positive experience in growing roses of these colors. Although some craftsmen manage to tame and these caprices.
Another noteworthy variety, too Scrub - Midnight Blue with beautiful inky-purple flowers (at the beginning of flowering - almost black) with golden stamens in the center. It forms a dense compact shrub up to 80 in height. In addition, flowers of such rich, saturated color also have a pleasant, quite strong aroma of a combination of cloves and spices. This variety is practically not damaged by pests and pathogens, it hibernates well. But, unfortunately, it does not tolerate rain and the bright scorching sun: the flowers are damaged or fade.
ROSES OF TERRACOTE
Among the varieties of this color is interesting Terracotta. It has beautiful, large brick-red flowers. They are single and odorless, in this case, all these shortcomings are more than offset by color. This variety belongs to the cut plant and is most often grown in large flower farms, although in Russia it can be found on sale in garden centers and growers use it to decorate their flower arrangements. This variety is best obtained if the summer is cold enough: it does not like bright direct sunlight (in this case, the flowers usually fade).
Nice terracotta variety - Brown velvet, the color of which varies depending on the weather: in the cool, it can be brown, in the warmer - orange with a slightly dirty tint. The flowers are quite large, up to 8 cm in diameter, double with slightly wavy petals. This terracotta variety is one of the most resistant to pathogens.
ROSES COLORS OF COFFEE AND CHOCOLATE
I would like to note an unusual variety Hot cocoait is often sold under the name Hot Chocolate. The color of the flowers is unusual: to someone it seems red, to someone with chocolate. This variety has a very complex color (in a number of catalogs it goes like “fire-but-orange”), the base color can vary from chestnut, red-brown to dark, and rich-red. The basic tone shines through smoky, taupe. It is difficult to imagine this rich color, and in the photos it is not so easy to convey. Better to see at least once! So far this variety is the same, and it has no equal. In addition, he has a powerful branched shrub, and he is resistant to pathogens.
If we have already talked about appetizing colors, then do not forget about roses with coffee-colored flowers. Coffee with milk, beige with a slightly lavender tint, walnut-coffee ... For example, Brownie - This variety was registered in 1959 in America, and then it made a splash. Small cream-colored toffee buds with bright splashes of cherry on the tips of the petals open into walnut flowers. Cherry edges quickly fade, leaving only a nutty coffee tone. This variety looks amazing! Unfortunately, despite such beauties), the bush turns out to be rather weak, not resistant enough to pathogens. but. looking at his fantastic flowers, he can be forgiven.
Interesting coloring at Creme caramel - cream and coffee with a caramel shade. The flowers are gusgomahra, beautiful build, this variety is large, with a diameter of a good ear can reach 11, see. Moreover, they are not afraid of rain. Bushes are strong, branched, in our conditions, they feel good, resistant to pathogens.
One of the best coffee roses can rightly be considered CAFE - color coffee milk. When opened, the flowers show the middle with many small wavy petals; open rose looks very attractive. It is also with a pleasant, pronounced aroma of rose oil, which is not typical for varieties of this color. The color of the variety depends on the weather - it is better manifested in the cold.
Perhaps the most unusual shade for roses - gray. Of course, the color of the queen’s flowers is not to be found, it’s still a sort of pale pink, pale lilac, smoky, as if slightly powdered. Such roses may look a little dirty, but that is their charm.
Among the "gray" varieties I would like to highlight Griselis - Old French variety. It has double-colored flowers of a dirty pink color, on a pearl-white substrate, not very fragrant, but with a light, pleasant spicy aroma. A general impression is created, especially if you look from afar, that the flowers are really gray.
Another variety that I would like to mention - Gray dawn; Officially, it is considered lilac, but looking at it, you realize that it is not so lilac. It seems as if pink was mixed with coffee, and it turned out such an obscure, slightly dirty color.
Old Grade - Ash Wednesday, its color can change: lilac, pale pink or even yellowish, but in any case it looks as if slightly powdered and looks like gray from afar. And the outer side of the petals is silver, so if you look at the flower, you get a beautiful play of shades. Coloring may appear better if the weather is not warm enough during flowering, which is not uncommon in our conditions. And if it's hot in the street, the color is greyish-lavender, which, by the way, is also very good. In addition, this variety is vigorous and grows quickly after planting.
Unusual green roses are another gift from breeders. First of all, one cannot fail to say about such a variety as ViridifloraHe is extremely unusual, for an amateur.
This truly green rose looks weird, because all parts of the flower turned into photosynthesizing structures. It turns out that the petals and stamens, and the pistil is a derivative of the leaves.
At the beginning of flowering flowers are green, later they become bronze or slightly rusty. Despite its downright cosmic appearance, the variety in the conditions of central Russia hibernates well, although it requires shelter and can freeze over the snow cover.
Even more resistant to our conditions, but not so green, - climbing Life. This variety has only a slightly perceptible greenish shade. You can even say that its flowers are cream or ivory with a pale green base in the petals.
MULTI-COLORED ROSES - WHAT COLORS THEY STILL HAVE
ROSES IN ALL POSSIBLE COLORS AND SHADES - VARIETY NAME
Breeders, like real couturiers, create the most incredible outfits for roses. Scarlet, white colors are replaced by caramel, gray, purple, coffee. It is time for poets to take up the pen and exalt the extraordinary beauty of the queens
Unfortunately, not a single breeder has yet succeeded in getting the desired blue rose; they have not yet advanced beyond lilac, purple colors. But lovers of blue can turn their eyes to Rhapsody in Blue with purple-violet flowers, a white center and golden stamens - today it is closest to the "blue dream".
There are no black roses in nature either, painted store ones do not count. But the Midnight Blue variety at the beginning of flowering is dark dark purple, well, almost black. Later it brightens, fades to inky purple. In addition, this variety is also fragrant, practically not damaged by pests and pathogens, winters well. There is only one fly in the ointment: its flowers do not tolerate rain and the bright scorching sun - they are damaged or burn out.
Anyone who is partial to a brown rose can look at Hot Cocoa, which, although described in the catalog as a fiery orange, is actually a very complex, chestnut-y, smoky. The color is rich, it is difficult to convey it through a photo, you need to see it live. While there is no equal to him, he is the only one! In addition, he does not get sick and winters well.
ROSES COFFEE WITH MILK
Appetizing coffee coloring is also rare for roses. But there is one old Brownie variety that was registered back in 1959. Its buds are like toffees with bright cherry splashes, and the fully opened flowers are hazel. Unfortunately, despite the beauty of the flowers, the bush turns out to be rather weak, not sufficiently resistant to pathogens, but, looking at its fantastic flowers, everything can be forgiven.
ROSES COLOR CREAM AND CARAMEL
An interesting color in the variety Creme Caramel (Creme Caramel) - creamy coffee with a caramel tint. The flowers are densely double, large, in diameter, with good care, they can reach up to 11 cm. In addition, they are not at all afraid of rain. The bushes are strong, branchy, in our difficult conditions they feel very good, resistant to pathogens.
Among the gray varieties, I would like to highlight Griselis (Griselis), a rather old French variety. Its dense double flowers are dirty pink, on a pearly white substrate, not very fragrant, but the aroma is pleasant, spicy. And the general impression is created, especially when viewed from afar, that the flowers are really gray.
ROSES OF TERRACOTE
Brown, rusty, ocher - roses of these colors look unusual. And the Terracotta variety is the most terracotta of all. It is cut, but flower growers use it to decorate their flower arrangements. This variety does best when the weather is cold enough, it does not like bright direct sunlight, as in this case the flowers usually fade.
