LIFHAKI FOR DACHI - ALL WITH YOUR OWN HANDS
SELF-MODERN POND AT DACHA = CORNER MOLD
Physical fatigue can be removed quickly and easily, but accumulated in the soul - much more difficult. A special atmosphere, silence and unity with nature are required.
Five years ago, I simply could not wait for spring to begin construction of the pond, and, of course, before going to work, I thoroughly studied this issue. As soon as the ground thawed from the frost, I began to dig a reservoir.
He was not ready yet, and I fell in love with the future pond so much that in just three days I was dug a rather big (2 × 3,5 m and 1,2 m deep) foundation pit with steps for flowers. In the first year, I covered the pond with ordinary film, but already in the second year it all crawled away, and I had to buy a PVC film. And for five years now my pond has been flourishing!
For a long time I picked plants to him, thought over the cascade. But this is all behind, and now everything just makes me happy. The daughter arranged a cascade near the pond, and water circulates in it all summer. After rain, water from the roofs escapes into the barrel, and from the barrel runs through a hose to the pond. Ducks settled in the pond, water lilies grow - white, yellow, red. The cyperus with magnificent hats decorates a reservoir, and when a water calla blooms - you just can’t take your eyes off! Girlfriends presented red fish that feel great in the pond even in winter with water lilies. But I bring cyperus and callas into the house for the winter, put them in trays and constantly add water. My pond is surrounded by coastal plants - cinquefoil, barberry and my favorite buzulnik. All this looks very harmonious.
Due to the large foliage, impressive size of the adult bush and yellow flowers, the buzulnik became an accent of the flower garden near the pond, and all types of silverweed and barberry are well combined with other flowers. Potentilla branches fall into the pond, and the fish gladly rub back on them.
I come home from work, sit down on a little bench and admire this beauty. Water purrs, bees buzz, fish play, and peace of mind. So I regain my strength and move away from the bustle. I admire nature in any of its manifestations - whether it be a leaf, a branch or a whole pond. Do you think it's so hard to do? No! Once my daughter asked me: “Mom, but who needs a pond more - do you or me?” - and, having received the answer, she cut off: - "Then then dig it to yourself." Well, I am very grateful to her: I had so much strength that it seemed that I would roll mountains!
Above all, do not be afraid to start, and then everything goes smoothly. I wish you success!

WALKING ON THE CABLE
In the photo is our pond in early autumn. I’ll write how we did it. First you need to dig a hole - the dimensions are according to your capabilities (the husband dug 0,8x2x5 m). Planned to use for irrigation and as a fire reservoir. The edges were strengthened with bridges, this gives decorativeness, creates convenience.
“Walk along the promenade,” we joke when we walk along the walkways.
Materials can always be found at the nearest sawmill. The bottom and walls of the pit are lined with a special strong film (it stretches under pressure). There is a drain - the landscape allows. In summer, water is at a comfortable temperature for swimming. You can fill the pond with rain water (a drain from the roof). Turn everyday things into beautiful ones! Good luck!

POND FOR THREE HOURS
Although I am not a very experienced gardener, I’ll say that without watering, no vegetable will be mutilated. There is no reservoir on the site, there is a well nearby, but carrying water with buckets is worthless: my hands hurt, and for a long time, and I'm already 76 years old. And I decided to make a pond.
In early spring, when there is no heat, no wind, you have to dig a hole (dimensions at your discretion). Try not to go too deep, so that the water warms up in the sun.
Now the main thing is to find clay, dense and oily, so that it does not lag behind the hands when wet. When you bring clay to the site, carefully cover it from all sides, otherwise it will dry out. Lay it in a thick layer, tamp with a shovel tightly. From time to time, water the upholstery from a watering can, and pour a layer of coarse sand on top. We treat the sides of the pond in the same way as the bottom. Shore so that the sun does not burn clay, we square with turf squares or 2 parts of crushed brick, mix with 1 part of lime, add water to the consistency of sour cream and coat the inner surface of the reservoir with a layer of 7-10 cm. Immediately after finishing work, thoroughly process with vegetable oil (you can spent), over time, such pruning hardens like cement. Now you can fill the pond with water. Water is the joy of a summer resident. All this work will take about three hours.

MONEY IS TIGHT? ENABLE FANTASY!
Specialized shops are literally packed with all kinds of utensils intended for a summer vacation. It’s a pleasure to look at these things. Rather, it would be. If it weren’t for the prices ... And then it's time to remember that almost everything can be made by yourself without any special costs.
I did not even imagine what I would do when I retired (I am a teacher by profession). I suggested that my husband buy a summer house. Family members did not like my proposal, but they agreed, hoping that over time I would deviate from my venture ... It was not there.
I did not have any experience with land. Now I am ashamed to remember how many mistakes I made, how many plants I destroyed. Although I read special literature, I took advice from the Internet with might and main. There was porridge in my head: it was late for feeding, then it was not processed on time, it was overlooked, it was overdone ...
Fortunately, quite by accident I got into the hands of the number of “My beautiful summer residence”. I read it from cover to cover, and for eight years this is my handbook. I look forward to each issue, I will be happy to take into service interesting recommendations. Thanks to the advice of readers, my cottage from an ugly duckling turned into a beautiful swan. And now they come to me for advice, seedlings, cuttings ... I want to contribute to the treasury of summer councils.
I have long noted that many gardeners pay attention to the appearance of their site, arrange cozy recreation areas.
I also live by the principle: less material costs plus imagination - to revive the most dull corner, so that the soul rejoices. Yes, not everyone has money to buy ready-made "masterpieces", so let's make them ourselves!
In addition to the garden, garden, pool, bath, gazebos, fountains, pond, we have many flower beds, paths, hedges, flowerpots, figurines, arches, which give a unique flavor to the entire site. They decorate the country landscape, give it warmth and harmony.
Pond: step by step
I will begin, perhaps, from a pond with a fountain, it is in our recreation area.
- They made a skeleton from pieces of a professional sheet (remained from the roof). Pieces bolted together. The top edge is smooth, the bottom does not matter.
- They determined the shape and size of the pond on the ground - in accordance with the frame.
- On a bayonet, shovels removed the ground.
- They leveled the ground, flooded with water.
- From the old linoleum cut the substrate, so that the bottom was smoother.
- Laid out the bottom of a thick film, wrapping it on the walls of the frame.
- Scored reinforcement pins from the front of the frame. When water is poured, it will begin to burst iron, and the pins will support the film and strengthen the iron.
Now about the outside of the pond (photo 1).
From the boards of boxes of persimmon (sellers throw them in the trash) tied framing kapron cords, cutting the old tights in a spiral. These threads are strong, stretch and do not rot for a long time.
Why took the boxes out of the persimmon? The fact is that these boards are treated with a composition from rot, and their thickness reaches 1, see. They are well painted and do not rot for a long time.
This "path" of plates (photo 2) framed iron and closed the film. By the way, you need to buy a thicker film.
Turn on the fantasy
We bought a motor for fountains (it turns out that it is not expensive at all) and installed in the middle of a pond between stones, the wire was connected to a power outlet. Sitting side by side on a swing and listening to the splash of water - it soothes. Framing above ground prevents water clogging. We fill the pond from the water supply, and so that the pressure does not raise turbidity from the bottom, put a bucket in the middle of the pond and direct a hose into it, or we put a divider from an old sock on the hose.
When there was no running water, water was added from the barrel. She stood above the pond, and the water flowed, where necessary, by gravity through the hose.
In the summer in my pond live frogs.
The stones must be covered with water, otherwise the frogs will burn on the stones heated by the sun. Plants around the pond in some places down to the water itself. They provide a safe exit for the frogs.
I clean the garbage with a net of large gauze. In the fall I cover the pond with a net (for the time of leaf fall). In the winter I put several boards in the water so that the ice would not burst the walls. I remove the motor, wash the filter and leave it in the garage until spring. I cover the top with boards and film. It is easier to pour out the water and cover it with a film, securing the edges with stones and boards. If there are no boards, you can put plastic bottles of 1,5 l with sand into the water, then ice will not break the walls of the pond too.
Epilogue about the plates
Of these, we made low fences throughout the site, having painted it green (photo 3-4). Framed old buckets for petunia and other flowers. Currant and gooseberry supports were used to cover the roses. We have frosts in the winter for -30 °, but roses tolerate them well under such a shelter. Inside the dry land is covered (photo 5). In spring, I take shelter, dry it, process it with a solution of copper sulfate and clean the structure until autumn.
In general, you can do a lot of things by turning on the fantasy (photo 6-7).
Good luck to you, dear gardeners and gardeners!

BRATIAN BRANDY WITH YOUR OWN HANDS
Brotherly, because I am sharing with you fraternally.
Nothing should disappear on the farm, and often there are billet preserves. We put Braga, then overtake. I have a brochure: 148 recipes for brewing, processes, devices, cleaning. On sale now you can find various literature on
This issue is not a problem. On a three-liter can of moonshine I take 3 tbsp. l dry long tea, 3 tbsp. l sugar, 3 bay leaves, 1 lemon or 1/2 tsp. citric acid, 1/2 tsp vanilla (or on the tip of a knife).
Compote zucchini with quince
I put the prepared three-liter jar half a liter of zucchini, cut into cubes, and the same Japanese quince (previously freed from the seeds).
Pour boiling syrup: water + a glass of sugar. Roll up - and under a fur coat.
Quince is good for the stomach and reduces excess weight.

COMPOUND CONVEYOR OWN HANDS
How to make compost, everyone knows. Much has already been written about this, but not everyone knows how to arrange a compost conveyor. Meanwhile, everything is very simple.
The box is better to make metal. The height of the 40 cm is sufficient, and other sizes will depend on the amount of material. The box is divided into three sections by two partitions. The two extreme sections are the same, and the average is two times less.
In the first year the first section is filled, and as the filling is completed, additional removable sides are installed. In the second year, the third section is filled. With an increase in the volume of contents in the third section and a decrease (due to decay) in the first, the beads are transferred from the first to the third section. In the third year in the spring, the almost ready-made compost from the first section is transferred to the second and mixed with ash, dolomite flour (for deoxidation) and ripens there until the next spring. And the first section is again filled with fresh material.
In the photo the beginning of summer, ready humus from the second section has already been used, and in its place compost from the third section has been transferred. The main thing: compost should definitely sift! I do it this way: I put a trough in the second section, put two buckets into it and sieve all the humus with a sieve.
Wireworm larvae are rarely found, and for the beetle larvae, the compost heap is a favorite habitat. I make a sieve (see photo) from a tree or a wicker metal mesh with a cell clearance of 5 mm. Size - to whom it is convenient for work.

Bottle curb do it yourself
I really like the border (fence) of plastic bottles. Of plastic, I have a lot of things done in the country - animals, flowerpots, flowerpots, etc.
Bottles of the same size are required for collection.
Their bottom is cut off (see. Fig.), Then they are connected in two places for the fortress of the fence. The fence painted by automobile spray paint is dug in and filled with the earth. In such "pots" it is good to plant undersized flowers - ageratum, marigolds, and moss also looks good.
The advantages of this fence: durability, stability, beauty.

MEMBER HANDLES
On the advice of readers
I really liked the Mittlider landing method. Now potatoes, strawberries, carrots, beets, blackberries, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cabbage - I plant everything like this. The result is water saving during irrigation, and most importantly - water and top dressing go specifically to the root. I put cropped bottles on two sides on eggplant. Very well! There is no mention of a Colorado potato beetle.
Inshell Cucumbers
I plant cucumbers in eggshells about 10 days before planting in open ground. I put the shell on the palm and with a thin awl I make holes in it. Sometimes, it happens, it will crack, and the puncture will become large, so what? I make three such punctures.
I pour in the finished wet earth, put a seed in it, cover it with earth and put it in egg trays. While the seeds are germinating, I dig a trench in the garden, fertilize it, set the arches and cover with a film. I cover the film on all sides with earth so as not to be blown away by the wind, and the earth is warming.
In 10 days, the cucumbers will sprout, a leaf will appear. Then I open one side of the film and plant the cucumbers along with the shell. When planting in the ground, the shell needs to be crushed gently so that the roots can easily break through it. And between the greenbacks we plant corn. And again we cover with a film - until the return frosts pass, and then the corn then protects them from the heat. We plant watermelons and melons in the same way, only we put the seeds in the ground.
Bump in a circle
I make indentations in the ground, fertilize with humus, and in a circle - a side from the ground, plant the seeds two in a hole and cover it with glass from above. It turns out a little greenhouse.
How does hazel blossom?
I plant cabbage with marigolds, but only with tall ones - this helps from a butterfly.
I also brought strawberries and hazel from the forest, planted it in the garden. Everything is growing well, and have already tasted nuts. Someone wrote that they did not know how hazel blossoms. Earrings on it for pollination of flowers, and flowers - look closely - on the kidneys are red as brushes.
Fighting slugs
In the summer to fight them hard. They get out at night and go to their shelters by morning: they are afraid of the heat. But somewhere from mid-September until the frost there is no heat, and they are expanse: in the mornings they are in no hurry to hide and at this time they are being trapped. In a liter jar pour some water and add salt. I take a spoon in one hand, another in a wand, with which I scoop slugs in a spoon (it is disgusting to take hands), then I throw them in salted water. There they die. Last fall, their number significantly decreased, and the horror that was happening!
Sunflowers for birds
I sow sunflowers so that in winter there is something to feed the birds. I protect against sparrows by tying vegetable nets. If you wear a regular mesh, then through the holes they will still peck.
Feeders
Bird feeders made it this way: she cut out windows in a three-liter bottle, put a wand so that there was something to sit on, and tied it with a string. On sharp edges I made notches, bent them and taped them with adhesive tape. And in another bottle I inserted a nail 100 mm, and I put fat on it (sorry for drawing, I'm not an artist).
Early potatoes
I also remembered one case. From early potatoes I plant Minerva and the Riviera. I try to plant carefully so that the sprouts do not break off. But somehow one sprout of the Riviera broke off - I stuck it in a flowerpot, and it began to grow there. Then I transplanted him into the garden. As a result, a bush grew, which was no different from those that I planted with tubers.
Nine good potatoes grew in it.
Variety rejuvenation
In the cellar it often happens that small young nodules grow on potatoes. I tear them off and stand along with planting material for germination of sprouts, and small ones turn green at the same time. These small ones I plant separately, and from them grows normal potatoes, which I leave for planting material.
Oh, probably enough, but that went to the memories, and the place in the magazine is not enough, if you write everything.
I love you all and respect, I wish you all good, and disputes between us so as not to arise!

Hops-suneli from the garden
I will share my advice with my dear fellow gardeners as I made my hop-suneli seasoning.
When pulling carrots, drew attention to the aroma of her young tops. I rinsed it in clean water, dried it in the shade on a towel.
Then narwhal mint leaves, lemon balm, currant, thyme (it grows in my garden), gathered nasturtium flowers, marigolds, peony petals, leaves and green young inflorescences of dill, parsley leaves, celery, basil, ripe dill seeds, celery and coriander.
I dried the seeds and crushed the tolkushkoy, dried grass and petals ground in my hands. All mixed and poured into an opaque jar with a lid, so that the aroma is not exhaled.
Here you have ready seasoning for fish, meat, chicken, soup!

I want to share my plain garden tricks.
For growing seedlings of vegetables, flowers from very small seeds (petunias, celery, garden strawberries) I use peat tablets with a diameter of 33 mm. Why exactly this size? Just when swelling, they fill the cells in containers for packing eggs in volume and height.
Plastic transparent packaging containers are very convenient for growing "young growth" of vegetables. Firstly, they take up little space on the windowsill, secondly, they are transparent and, thirdly, they have good humidity control due to the presence of a small side gap, which contributes to the flow of air and minimizes condensation.
