CONFERENCE STARS - UNUSUAL AND BEAUTIFUL VARIETIES
We are accustomed to and sweet tall, slender Christmas tree. Loved the lush form of pine. However, fashion has affected these classic images - now coniferous varieties are amazing and all kinds of colors, and unusual compact forms. New Year's Eve - it's time to pay attention to them and express your admiration
FIR ORDER NIDIFORMIS (NIDIFORMIS)
It resembles, rather, a living garden sculpture than a traditional tree. Her crown forms a slightly flattened oval on top of a low leg, making it resemble a green pillow. In the center of the young plant is a real "nest" - a depression, which is due to the growth of branches. And the branches of Nidiformis are spreading, shoots grow densely and fan-shaped. Young growths in color are slightly lighter than old needles, so they give a sparkling effect. The variety is very hardy and slow growing.
MACHALA LUTZ FIR
Dwarf shrub with noble bluish needles. The crown is spreading, pillow-like, shoots partially horizontal, in the center more elevated. Machala is beautiful in landscape compositions, rocky and heather gardens. Shade-tolerant, winter-hardy, but demanding on soil fertility. It tolerates pruning well, so you can create any shape from it - whatever you want.

FIR KOREAN BRILLIANT (BRILLIANT)
Really matches its name. It's all about the dense shape of the crown and its unusual color. Inside the bush, the needles are dark green, and the tips are light green, which creates a sparkling effect. A diamond is a dwarf variety with a height of 0,4-0,6 m. The width of the crown is about 0,6 m. Fir grows very slowly throughout life. Her needles exude a strong and very pleasant aroma. The best conditions are fertile moist slightly acidic soils, a bright place or partial shade.
IMPORTANT!
In early spring, fir needles must be protected from sunlight. the plant does not like stagnation of water and drought
THUI WESTERN DANICA (DANICA) AND GOLDEN GLOBE (GOLDEN GLOBE)
These varieties of thuja have the shape of an almost perfect ball with a diameter of 0,6 m with a dense dense crown.
JUNIOR CRAZY BLUE STAR (BLUE STAR)
Dwarf shrub with a height and diameter of about 0,5 m, with a star-shaped crown. Short bluish needles resemble a frost pattern or blue stars. Juniper coexists perfectly with roses, allowing them to show off against its background; it is ideal in rocky and heather gardens, on alpine hills and slopes.
MOUNTAIN MOUNTAIN OFIR (OPHIR)
This dwarf will fit into a small garden, an alpine hill, can grow in a container. Its crown is pillow-shaped rounded. It is winter-hardy, prefers sunny places. The bright green summer color of the needles in the autumn changes to lemon, and by winter it becomes golden yellow. It grows slowly: by the age of ten it reaches about 50 cm and up to 1 m in diameter.
PINE BLACK NANA (NANA)
A great candidate for coniferous group on the site. A dwarf with a beautiful wide-pyramidal crown and very long needles, bundled in pairs. It prefers exclusively sunny places and well-drained soils.
VEIMUTOV PINE MINIMA (MINIMA)
A miniature tree stretches no more than 7 cm throughout the year. Neat spherical crown, long thin needles, gathered in bunches - the plant does not lose its decorativeness in any season.
Christmas tree on the foot
An interesting option for small gardens is a coniferous plant on the stem. Beautiful forms are obtained from horizontal junipers, from larch, spruce and pine.
FIR-BARED BIALOBOK (BIALOBOK)
It captivates everyone with its “white sides". 2-3 m high. Crown of irregular shape, dense, especially in the first years of life. The needles are silver-blue, in early spring on young growths pale yellow or straw.

How to make a small corner of conifers in the garden?
#
- Slow-growing and dwarf species and varieties of conifers are best suited for such compositions, thanks to which the corner will retain its charming appearance for a long time. For example, in my garden I made a mixborder, which was based on Konika spruce (Sanders Blue, Misty Blue, Rainbow End, Daisy White, balls - Yalako Gold), lying junipers, which in adults do not exceed 1 m in width, a small thuja Western Mickey. Of course, from some conifers the composition would have been boring, so I added birch on the stem, bright slender barberry Maria, heicher, heathers, and variegated boxwood to them. All of these plants can be kept in the shape of a haircut.
When creating such a corner, start work by planting the base - conifers - and gradually fill the space with garden flowers and ornamental shrubs.
The flattened spruce Nidiformis (spruce nests) with roses, spherical chrysanthemums, various stonecrops and perennial asters look very good.
Do not be afraid to experiment, and you will definitely have your own unusual and beautiful place to relax!
