Three tips agronomist when planting conifers
CORRECT planting of conifers - DEPTH, BEST PLACE, SOIL AND FERTILIZER
In the spring, it is important to plant conifers before the onset of hot weather. In doing so, try to avoid the following errors.
1. Do not disturb the earthen ball
All conifers must be transplanted with a lump of earth, otherwise the roots will dry out and die. On the eve of planting, water the plant in the container well, and the next day, carefully transfer it from the tank to the planting pit.
2. Make the right size landing pit
It should be wider than the diameter of the coma and deeper than the height of the coma. For reference: between the lump and the walls of the pit should be the palm of an adult man. When you install an earthen lump in a pit, it is better to fill the air gaps with soil for a particular coniferous species (see the table). But you can use the land that was taken out during the preparation of the landing pit.
3. Monitor the level of the root neck
When planting a coniferous plant, the root neck (transition from the tree trunk to the roots) should be at the level of the soil. Do not fall asleep, otherwise the plant may not take root or will develop poorly. If you nevertheless deepened the root neck, then free it from the ground, removing the excess.
TIP: In the landing pit, drainage is mandatory - a layer of broken brick and sand (15-20 cm). After planting, mulch the soil under the plants to preserve moisture and protect against weeds (for example, pine needles).

Otstilil dog from conifers
More than once I heard complaints of gardeners, on the plot of which conifers grow, that cats and especially dogs use these plants for their “wet” affairs. I also encountered such a problem. As a result, coniferous bushes “labeled” by animals turn yellow immediately, and eventually may die at all.
The way out of the situation was suggested by a German tourist with whom fate brought me together. He advised periodically to sprinkle a coniferous plant and the earth around it ... with ground pepper (black or red). I checked - the method works! My dog now bypasses conifers.
