The most healthy varieties of apples (high in vitamin C)
WHICH APPLES ARE GOOD THAN ALL
"An apple a day - and the doctor is not needed," the English proverb says. That is, just eating at least one apple per day, you protect yourself from many diseases, raise immunity, heal the body.
You probably heard about the healing apples of Professor L.I. Vigorova. Leonid Ivanovich did not recognize the assessment of varieties only in terms of size and taste of the fruit and yield. He studied hundreds of varieties of apple trees, conducted large-scale research and biochemical analyzes of fruits for the content of vitamins and various nutrients. And of these hundreds of varieties of medicinal, he recognized units.
A person needs to absorb 70-100 mg of vitamin C per day, which in the right amount not only helps the body escape from colds, but also prevents stomach and duodenal ulcers, atherosclerosis.
The content of vitamin C in apples varies from 2 mg% to 40 mg%. Can you imagine the difference?
To get the necessary amount of vitamin C, according to Professor Vigorov’s calculations, you need to eat about 5-7 kg of sweet southern apples of the Golden Del and neck or Jonathan varieties, 2-3 kg of most varieties of central Russia (such as saffron Pepin) and only 0,5 kg of ascorbic rich varieties such as Renet Chernenko.
But Vigorov’s healing apples are rich not only in vitamin C. In them, the professor found 10 other vitamins of extraordinary importance for humans (including vitally important vitamin P), 6 microelements, 3 antibiotics, and even radioprotective compounds (those that protect against ionizing radiation) )
Nowadays, the study of the composition of apples continues. In particular, more than 300 apple varieties were studied at the All-Russian Research Institute for Fruit Crop Breeding. And the conclusion was curious: the content of vitamins in the fruits largely depends not only on the variety of apple trees, but also on the growing area.
For example, 100 g of fruits grown in the southern zone (Northern Caucasus, Lower Volga Region) contain only 10,6 mg of vitamin C, in the transition zone (Central, Central Black Earth, Middle Volga regions) -12,6 mg, in the northern zone (Northern, North-Western, Volga-Vyatka regions) - 14,7 mg. Most ascorbic acid in the fruits of apple trees in the Urals, Siberia and the Far East.
In central Russia, high-ascorbic acid content in fruits distinguishes varieties of selection VNIISPK - Vita (21,4 mg / 100 g) and Veteran (19,4 mg / 100 g), selection of Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosov - Multivitamin (37 mg / 100 g), VNIIGiSPR selection - Skala (27 mg / 100 g) and Uspenskoe (26,4 mg / 100 g), as well as old varieties of folk selection - Babushkino (24,6 mg / 100 g ), Papirovka (15,1 mg / 100 g), Skryazhapel (15 mg / 100 g), Antonovka vulgaris (14,5 mg / 100 g).
The authors of several articles in popular publications claim that green apples contain more ascorbic acid than red ones. This is not confirmed by research (see table).
Analysis shows that differences in vitamin C content in fruits depend on the variety and growing area, but not on the color of the fruits. It happens that red-fruited varieties are superior to green-fruited in terms of vitamin C.
