RARE PERENNIAL FLOWERS FOR THE GARDEN
Every gardener early in the shares wants to make his garden unique late. Of course, the main parameter of beauty is a thoughtful landscape design, but plants are no less important.
From perennials I want to advise several beautiful species.
1. Near flowing circles of magnolias and other trees, as well as shrubs, flowering curtains will look great trilliums. Some of them, for example, Kamchatka (T. kamtschaticum), Small (T. smalii), Chonoski (T. tschonoskii) in nature grow on Kamchatka and Sakhalin. In my collection, the favorite is T. Large-flowered Snow Bunting (Trillium grandiflorum Snow Bunting). He is the undisputed leader in ceremonial flower gardens.
2 and 3. In partial shade of trees you can plant glacidium (Glaucidium) and terry sanguine Flora Pleno (Sanguinaria canadensis). These are unpretentious plants that prefer fertile, moist soil. Their flowering begins almost immediately after the snow melts.
4. Look implausible podophyllums (Podophyllum). Especially the varieties Kaleidoscope and Spotty Dotti. They have proven winter hardiness, and this is the basis for interest in this exotic. Podophyllums prefer penumbra and moist drained soils.
5. In sunny places Marigold Spigelia (Spigelia marilandica) will surprise you. The plant is up to 40 cm high. It prefers light fertile soils and is responsive to feeding with complex mineral fertilizers in the form of a solution of 30 g / 10 l of water.
6. Still rare in flower gardens hemiboea (Hemiboea subcapitata). It blooms in late summer and autumn, to severe frosts, but the bushes are beautiful and without flowers. A plant for partial shade, it feels great on light fertile soil.
7. For shady, damp places suitable kirengeshoma danniform (Kirengeshoma palmata). It blooms in late summer, prefers moist, acidic soils. Height - 60 cm.
8. On the sunny side of the Alpine slide, they grow well in the middle lane (they winter without shelter) prickly pear (Opuntia). It is very interesting to watch them: in the autumn, the stalks are wrinkled and lie on the ground. It seems that the plants die, but in the spring, filled with juice, rise again. In May, buds appear. I propagate prickly pears with cuttings, which I immediately plant in a permanent place.
