DRY ONION IN THE BATH
The optimum temperature for drying onions after harvesting is + 30 ... + 35 degrees, while it is desirable to maintain this temperature for two to three days. If the weather is wet and cold, the easiest way is to create such conditions in ... a bath.
Spread the crops on the floor and shelves in the steam room. Heat the room slightly 2-3 times a day. If the temperature in the bath rises above 35 degrees, ventilate it. On the third day, transfer the onions to dry in a well-ventilated area.
You can determine that the onion is completely dry by taking the onion in your hands. If the outer scales rustle, the crop is ready for storage.

Garlic in sawdust
Garlic in our family is an indispensable vegetable, we add it to all main dishes. Therefore, we grow it in large quantities, especially winter, with large teeth.
And so that the vegetable does not germinate until spring, I carefully dry the heads. I cut the stem so that the stalk remains at least 5 cm long. I put it in cardboard boxes and sprinkle it abundantly with dry spruce sawdust. I store it in the hallway - the result is excellent, we finish the last heads in April! And then fresh garlic is just a stone's throw away.

WEAVE A SCYTHE FROM ONION ON MONDAY
My grandmother always said that all work related to onions should be done only on Monday, then it will grow well, and there will be no questions about storage. I tried to move away from this recommendation and more than once convinced that my grandmother was right.
And also, I noticed that the onion is best stored in pigtails, suspended in the pantry. Therefore, during cleaning, I leave the "tails". After drying, I weave them like a girl's braid. I tie the ends of the bundle with a rope to make an onion necklace. It always hangs in my kitchen, and it looks good and the onion is always at hand.
