JONQUILLIUM NARCISSES - LANDING AND CARE
To enjoy the flowering of unique daffodils at the end of next spring, I advise you to plant Jonquillia plants. Their characteristic features are waves of golden fragrant flowers, several of them on one peduncle!
These beauties are sensitive to late spring frosts, so in regions with a cold climate, they need to be grown in a place protected from the north wind. They are planted in the same way as other bulbs (optimally in the fall), but if you want to decorate the lawn with them, there are some nuances.
Lawn planting of narcissus
There is a special device for such a landing. Or you can simply lift the sod with a shovel, having previously cut it from three or four sides (30 × 30 cm).
Then I loosen the soil well with a garden pitchfork and remove it a little. I put in almost the same amount of compost and fertilizer for bulbous plants (according to the instructions).
I spread the daffodil bulbs at a distance of 15-20 cm from each other and cover them with compost.
I put the removed sod on top and water it well.
Lawns on which Jonquillia daffodils grow are mowed only after their leaves have died.
If you notice that the plants have begun to bloom worse, dig up the bulbs after the foliage has died and separate the daughter ones.
Do the leaves turn pale and curl up, do they have small yellow swellings? These bulbs are affected by nematodes. They need to be thrown away, the rest should be dug up and soaked in hot water for 2, 5 hours (43-46 degrees).

JONQUILLIUM NARCISSES: TIPS FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
I buy planting material in the fall - the largest bulbs are 5 cm in diameter. Remember, they are smaller than other types of daffodils. Do not take soft ones, as well as with red dots and spots - these are signs of the disease.
The sun or partial shade are the most comfortable places for Jonquillian daffodils.
The soil needs to be permeable. In areas with heavy soil where water stagnates, you need to build a high flower bed.
Lime soil is improved with peat, leaf compost or rhododendron substrate.
