Propagation of heather by cuttings
VERESK-CHERENKAMI
Since the end of August I have been enjoying the flowering of the charming common heather.
Bright clouds of small fragrant flowers look organically both along the garden paths and on the alpine slide.
Two years ago, in the spring, in April, I planted a couple of bushes of varieties Aurelia and Allegretto.
I used the following substrate: peat, sand, coniferous sawdust (3: 1: 2). I dug in the seedlings to the level of the root collar. After planting, the soil was lightly tamped, watered abundantly and mulched with small chips of coniferous trees.
Caring for heather is simple: moderate watering and feeding with complex mineral fertilizer once a season, in late spring-early summer (according to the instructions).
REPRODUCTION OF HEATHING WITH SHARROWS
Last season, for the first time, she propagated heather by cuttings.
At the end of August, I cut cuttings from the strongest branches of a semi-shrub (I did not take flowering shoots) and rooted them in pots filled with peat with sand (3: 1). The containers were kept in a cool place.
Once every 3-4 weeks, I fed the plantings with a complex mineral fertilizer (according to the instructions). During the winter, the plants rooted well, and in the spring I planted them in open ground.
