VEGETABLES FOR GROWING!
OPTIMUM VOLUME OF SOIL FOR GROWING
- Tomato, pepper, physalis: undersized varieties - 3 liters, medium-sized ones - 5-7 liters
- Root parsley,
- celery - 3-4 liters per plant
- Leaf parsley,
- dill, onions - 1 liter for two or three plants
- Basil - 1-2L per plant
In September, when the heat-loving crops in the greenhouse have already borne fruit, in their place you can sow the seeds of cold-resistant plants (radishes, arugula, lettuce, onions for herbs, spinach, dill, parsley, watercress). They grow normally at air temperatures from +5 to +15 degrees. Greens will be ready for harvest already on the 20-30th day from the moment of emergence. And to make crops feel as comfortable as possible, adhere to the following rules.
To speed up germination, before sowing, soak the seeds in a solution of Epin (according to the instructions) or honey (1 tsp for 0 liters of water).
Water the bed abundantly with heated water before sowing, cover the seedlings with a layer of spunbond or film.
Avoid the use of mineral fertilizers, humus, compost and manure. In cool and cloudy weather, fertilizers can lead to the accumulation of excess nitrates in the greenery.
Sow seeds as tightly as possible - 1-2 cm apart and 10-15 cm between rows.
When the plants grow up, thin them out, leaving 3-5 cm between them. By the way, some of the torn plants can be transplanted into pots, and when it gets very cold, take them home.
After the final harvest, sow several rows of dill and parsley in the greenhouse before winter. Mark the spots with pegs. So get the earliest harvest in the spring.
WHAT vegetables can be sent FOR GROWING
The greenhouse can also be used for growing vegetables that have not yet yielded: cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kale, leeks, fennel. The essence of the reception is that nutrients from the leaves and stems will gradually flow into the inflorescences, bulbs, heads of cabbage and will enable the plants to grow to the desired size.
HOW TO DO IT
Dig up the vegetables to be grown by the roots.
Remove any old, yellowing leaves and plant the plants in the greenhouse, 5-10 cm deep compared to how they grew outside.
Make sure that the leaves do not touch the soil, and the plants do not touch each other, otherwise they can rot.
Remember to keep the soil moist at all times, as damaged roots absorb less water.
GROWING NOT ONLY IN THE GREENHOUSE
If you are leaving your summer cottage before spring, then the growing process can be organized in the basement, vegetable pit, and even in the pantry.
Prepare the plants in the same way as for growing in a greenhouse. However, plant them in a wooden crate filled with dirt or a heavy garbage bag.
Keep vegetables in any dark place with air temperatures above XNUMX degrees. Ventilate the room once a day, otherwise the plants may rot.
LET'S MOVE WITH VEGETABLES AT HOME
Dwarf varieties of physalis, tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, on which the fruits are not yet ripe, can be grown in the apartment.
Gently dig up the plants from the soil before frost, pinch the crown, remove yellowed leaves, flowers and all stepchildren.
Transplant into pots or buckets.
Keep in a room with a temperature above +10 degrees.
You can extend the summer by planting perennial plants in pots - mint, lemon balm, basil.
CAUTION: PESTS!
Be extremely careful when taking garden plants home. Whiteflies, thrips, spider mites can "move" into the apartment with them. Therefore, keep outdoor plants away from indoor flowers and, as soon as you finish growing, immediately remove them with the container from the house. If during the growing process you noticed pests on the vegetables, it is better to collect the fruits that have grown up, and discard the plants.

READER TIPS:
ROSEMARY IN THE APARTMENT: NOT IMMEDIATELY, BUT IT WORKED!
I have been growing rosemary in my apartment for several years. But it didn't work out all at once. At first, the seeds did not want to sprout, and then the weak seedlings died, as soon as 3-4 real leaves appeared. A friend's advice helped to cope with this problem.
On her recommendation, the seedlings, as soon as the third real leaf appeared on it, was planted in the greenhouse for the whole summer. In September, she dug in a bush at a distance of 15 cm from the stem, transferred it into a three-liter pot, a third filled with fine gravel. I poured it abundantly with warm water, put on a transparent plastic bag on top and left it on a sunny windowsill for 2 weeks. Then she removed the shelter. Rosemary took root well and grew all winter.
In the spring, I transplanted the plant into a five-liter pot. And the next fall, he had to give him a seven-liter bucket. Now, once every six months, I change the soil in the container, and carefully wash the drainage and spill it with a saturated solution of potassium permanganate.
