Forcing flowering branches in winter

SPRING BOUQUET IN WINTER OWN HANDS
In the cold, you want so much bright colors and aromas around. But there is a real way to achieve flowering of lilacs, forsythia, apple trees, spirea, deren, almonds at this time of year (it is better to take their early varieties).
PREPARATION OF FLOWS FOR RUNNING
When the dormant period has already been completed (late December-January), the branches of the plants are cut, which lay the buds of flowering in summer. They do this in the middle of a frost-free day (preferably at above-zero temperatures) - then adaptation to room conditions will be most successful.
It is necessary to take branches with the largest buds from the central hour and an adult plant - it is from such shoots that the most beautiful forcing is obtained. In stone fruit trees and shrubs, it is better to choose twigs that are more densely covered with generative (flower) buds.
It can be stored until distillation in the refrigerator (+ 2-4 degrees), wrapped in plastic wrap.
BTW
The time of appearance of flowers is 10-45 days from the moment of harvesting the branches (depending on the type).
Weekly spraying with "Epin" (1 drop / 2 l of water) accelerates distillation, improves flowering.
DISCHARGE
It starts from the moment the branches are brought into the heat. To make the transition smoother, first they need to be dipped in snowy water overnight, then wrapped in a cloth and left for a couple of days in a cool room (+ 15 degrees).
Then I refresh the slices and completely immerse them in warm water (35-40 degrees, controlling with a thermometer) for IQ-12 hours. As it cools, I add hot water. This bath speeds up the awakening of the kidneys. For the same purpose, you can add a couple of drops of ammonia to the water.
After the expiration date, I renew the cut again, split the ends by 5 cm (or break it with a hammer). I put the branches in a vase of water at room temperature in a warm place, but away from radiators and direct sun.
You can increase the humidity in the room by placing it around a container with water. When the kidneys swell, it is necessary to dissolve sugar (3 g / l) in water and a pinch of coal to prevent decay.
The flowers will be larger and brighter if you add some boric acid crystals. I periodically spray the branches with settled water and in a vase I change it to fresh one every 3 days, cutting off the ends of the stems.
After budding, I cool the water to + 12-15 degrees so that the flowering lasts longer.
FORCING FLOWERING BRANCHES - ADVICE AND FEEDBACK
WINTER FLOWERING Twigs OWN HANDS
There is snow outside the window, and buds are blooming on the branches of the house. And now the winter bouquet is completely covered with fresh leaves and flowers. Everyone can make such a holiday gift for themselves, observing some rules.
At the end of December (early forcing), it is easiest to experiment with forsythia. Choose branches with plump buds.
Cut them at least 60 cm long and at a 45-degree angle so that the stems absorb water better.
First, put the branches brought home from frost for several hours in a cool place - for acclimatization. Then rinse them with running water. It is useful to split the lower ends along the length by about 5 cm.
If there is no frost in your area in December, then the shoots intended for flowering in January must be kept at - 4-5 degrees for 2-4 weeks (in the freezer
re, setting the required indicator).
Remove the bottom flower buds and side growth that will be below the water level.
Place the cut flower in a vase of warm water and place it in a bright spot near a window.
Change the fluid every 3-4 days to prevent the formation of bacteria that cause wood rot.
Flowers may open within a few days to a couple of weeks.
