Grape varieties - both for the south and for the north. Title and Description
VARIETIES OF GRAPES FOR THE WHOLE COUNTRY
Me and my friends in the Volgograd region grow grapes that can grow not only in the south, but also in the northern regions of the country. I want to share the varieties. Plant it - you will not regret it.
P-26. Far Eastern variety, author O.A. Galver... Very early ripening. In Volgograd - late July - early August, to the north - August 15-25. Bunches up to 110 g, medium-sized, two per shoot. The berries are medium, up to 3 g, round, dark purple, covered with thick prune. The juice is colored. Sugar in the range of 21-23%, acidity 6 g / l. Produces quality wines such as merlot. However, children are happy to eat fresh berries. Resistant to mildew and rot, two treatments must be done from oidium. Frost resistance up to -32-35 ° С. Wasps are not affected. Fruiting in the year of planting (if you plant a strong seedling in the spring), which is unacceptable. Avoid fruiting for the first two years so that the bush develops well.
P-29. Far Eastern variety, author O.A. Galver... An early ripening variety. Ripens in Volgograd in the third decade of August, to the north - in mid-September. Racks up to 150 g, cylindrical, medium-sized. Berries 2,5 g, round, dark purple, covered with dense prune. The juice is slightly pink in color. Sugar 19-22%, acid 7 g / l. The wine gives high quality, like Cabernet. Resistant to mildew and rot, two treatments must be done from oidium. Frost resistance up to -32-35 ° С. Wasps are not affected. The first two years, it is better not to allow fruiting so that the bush develops well.
P-33. Far Eastern variety, author O.A. Galver... An early ripening variety. Ripens a week earlier than the P-29 variety. In Volgograd - in mid-August, to the north - until mid-September. Bunches up to 150 g, cylindrical, moderately loose, well-formed. Berries up to 2,5 g, round, black, with a dense prune. There is almost no pulp, solid juice, uncolored. Sugar up to 26%, acidity 6-8 g / l. Produces a quality Cabernet type wine. Resistant to mildew and rot, two treatments must be done from oidium. Frost resistance up to -32-35 ° С. Wasps are not affected. For the first two years, it is better to refrain from receiving fruits so that the bush develops well. Until there is a large supply of perennial wood, it is better to ration the harvest.
P-34. Far Eastern variety, author O.A. Galver... Very early ripening, a week later than P-26. In Volgograd, it ripens in the first decade of August, to the north - at the end of August. Bunches up to 200 g, moderately loose, cylindrical-conical. Berries up to 2,5 g, round, dark purple, with a dense prune. There is almost no pulp, almost one uncolored juice. Sugar up to 23%, acidity 7-8 g / l. Wine made from berries of this variety is good, such as cabernet. Resistant to mildew and rot, two treatments are recommended for powdery mildew. Winter hardiness is high, up to -36-38 ° С. Wasps are not affected. The variety is vigorous, high-yielding (three inflorescences per shoot), but it is still better not to load the crop for the first two years. The bush should develop well and come into force.
EXPRESS EARLY (parent couple - Amur and Early Magaracha)... Very early ripening variety. In Volgograd it ripens in late July - early August, in Tver on September 1-5, in St. Petersburg around September 10. The bunch is medium-sized (loose), with an average weight of up to 250 g, individual clusters up to 0,5 kg. The berries are round, black, of pleasant, very harmonious taste, weighing 2-3 g. Sugar content of the juice is 22-25%, acidity is 9 g / l. The variety is relatively resistant to mildew and rot. It is unstable to powdery mildew; 2-3 treatments must be done. Withstands without shelter for the winter up to -32 ° C. In areas where winter temperatures are lower, it is enough to put the vines on the ground, and they successfully winter under the snow. A very productive variety! The fruits are used to make wine. The wine is dark in color, with a pleasant taste and aroma. The berries are also delicious when eaten fresh.
And for lovers of isable wines with a pleasant aroma, the breeders have developed a variety FABEL... It differs from Isabella by its high sugar content and very juicy pulp, without mucus, i.e. when making wine from this variety, you do not need to add any water or sugar.
This is an American variety, it came to us from Finland, where in the southern regions it is grown in the open field without shelter for the winter. An early ripening variety. In Volgograd and Voronezh it ripens on August 15-20, to the north - in early - mid-September. The clusters are medium, weighing up to 300 g, cylindrical, sometimes with a wing, medium-sized. The berries are rounded, up to 4 g, when fully ripe, they are white-pink in color. The seeds are easily separated from the pulp. The sugar content of the juice is from 19 to 26%. Acidity - 7 g / l. High resistance to fungal diseases. Frost resistance up to -38 ° С.

Why do I recommend these particular varieties? They make a very decent wine like Cabernet and Merlot. They are easy to grow in the middle lane and even north of the Moscow region, up to the northern regions of Karelia, since they are relatively resistant to diseases and frosts.
Finally, almost all of them are obtained using Amur grapes, withstand more than 30 ° frost, which means they contain an increased amount of resveratrol. Almost all Far Eastern plants have medicinal properties, and Amur grapes are no exception. To survive in the harsh conditions in nature, Amur grapes produce much more physiologically active substances than their cultivated counterparts. And these substances are medicinal for humans! What we need!
Why does a person generally drink alcohol? If you do not take the countries where the use of wine is a long tradition, then in our country it is for pleasure!
Although I have a different, more mundane goal here - disease prevention and health improvement. But at the festive table, having the opportunity to taste all the drinks that my family and friends preferred, I realized that I get pleasure from natural, red, self-made wine! And what is interesting, at first several people supported me in this matter, and now our whole company adheres to this opinion!
In conclusion, what do I want to say? Take the issue of preserving your health into your own hands! Of course, more than one dry red wine heals the human body, but it is of great importance in the complex of measures for health improvement!

Can grape leaves be used to heal the body?

Grapes have been rewarding people with health since ancient times. And not only berries were used. Here is one of the recipes.
With hypertension, young leaves and twigs of grapes are harvested in May, dried in the shade and stored in cardboard boxes. An infusion is prepared from them: 4 tbsp. l. crushed raw materials are brewed like tea in 0,5 liters of boiled water, boiled over low heat for 10-15 minutes, filtered and drunk before meals, 0,5 cups 3-4 times a day. This remedy also helps with diabetes and gout.

During his 20 years of viticulture experience, he tested plants of many varieties. And today I want to tell you about one of them, which I recommend to all summer residents.
We are talking about the Zlato variety of early ripening. The bush is medium-sized, frost-resistant (up to -25 degrees). Plants are resistant to mildew, powdery mildew. On old wood, clusters with amber-yellow berries (without hummocking) reach 700-1200 g. The berries are large, with fleshy and juicy pulp, with a slight taste of nutmeg. In my garden, even in the unfavorable year 2020, these grapes ripened and gave a good harvest. In the photo - a bunch weighing 1072 g (left one bunch on each shoot, removed the rest).

5. The first time like this: the grapes are ripe (mostly black), but tasted like mash. I think: is it because of the heat?
