OWN BORDERS - A WORTHY "EDGE" OF THE GARDEN AT THE DACHA
Spring is just around the corner, which means it's time to plan new compositions, flower beds, paths ... As you know, great success consists of hundreds of little things, and today we will touch on the theme of borders: they give the garden a well-groomed and finished look. I'll tell you about the pros and cons of different types, and the choice is yours.
Plastic border "Country".
It is a soft tape with a small decorative piping on top, similar to a hose. The curb is deepened into the ground, attached to metal pins.
Pros: versatile, easy to install, does not "jump" out of the ground due to fastening; well restrains the growth of the lawn; safe as the plastic itself is soft.
Cons: does not keep the straight lines of the composition, it becomes wavy; to eliminate this problem, we insert the fittings into the "hose". Someone may be confused by its presence at the top of the curb, but with proper installation, the edging ceases to be noticeable after a year.
L-shaped plastic.
It is most often used to decorate tracks, very convenient for creating lines, corners and near-trunk circles. Mounted on special plastic pins.
Pros: keeps its shape, easy to install.
Minus: in the 2-3rd year it may not be able to cope with the growth of lawn grasses, so they need to be regularly cut from the side of the curb.

Paving stones, natural stone, etc.
A small sand / mix cushion is needed for styling.
Pros: it inhibits the growth of the lawn well, is durable; with this border, you can fix a flower garden or another zone; there are many installation variations; goes well with many types of paths, different styles in the landscape.
Cons: labor-intensive (it is required, for example, to adjust the joints between the slabs, additionally process the stone); high price.
Wooden border.
Basically, this is a design technique in the design of geometrically complex gardens, for example, for fencing flower beds and garden beds. More often they use a larch board, which is important to fix very well. Pros: high aesthetic level of design, environmental friendliness, easy installation. Cons: not suitable for all gardens, it degrades faster under the influence of climatic conditions.
