Once I was on a diet based on flaxseed porridge, and from my own experience I was convinced of the usefulness of flax. Its seeds are rich in the so-called "youthful vitamins" A and E, which improve the condition of the skin, nails and hair. Flax also contains a rare vitamin F, which helps in lowering cholesterol.
Flaxseeds are a source of plant fiber and plant protein, so diet can be combined with exercise without fear of exhaustion. In addition, the long-established recipe for flaxseed decoction is still great for stomach ailments.
FLAX LANDING
Growing such a healthy plant on your site was not at all difficult. Flax may well serve as a garden decoration: it is not for nothing that perennial varieties are so often found in flower gardens and rock gardens in combination with daisies, daisies and marigolds.
I sowed seeds in the spring in different parts of the garden in sunny areas. The daytime temperature during the period favorable for planting should not fall below 15 ° C. I was worried that flax would grow poorly on sandy soil, but my fears did not materialize. When planting, it deepened the seeds 1-2 cm into the ground.
FLAX - CARE
The plant is unpretentious, it needs standard care, which includes infrequent watering, feeding and loosening. I noticed that flax does not require frequent feeding; except that during the growth period - in June - you can pamper it with liquid organic fertilizers. I used the top dressing twice. In May - based on wood ash, to add potassium, magnesium, calcium and sodium necessary for growth and development to the soil.
In June - based on poultry droppings, to strengthen the immunity of plants and strengthen the green mass.
The plant is resistant to pests. Flax does not like sudden changes in temperature when the thermometer drops below 12 ° C. For full growth and development of the plant, the temperature should be in the range of 15-25 ° C.
It's important
For the full growth and development of the plant, the temperature should be within 15-25 C.
I watered the flax regularly, trying to avoid stagnant water in the soil. I didn’t forget about weed control either. Flax has a very thin stem and weeds can damage the plant.
HARVESTING
During the flowering period, flax (from July to August) is covered with pale blue flowers about 2 cm in diameter. By the beginning of August, yellow-brown spherical capsules are formed, in which the seeds ripen. At the end of August, I gathered my first crop. The seeds had reached full maturity and were ready to be consumed, milled.
I recommend gardeners to take a closer look at this beautiful and healthy plant!
