I read that if you spill the soil with a saturated solution of Trichodermin (200 ml of liquid or 40 g of dry per 10 l of water) before potatoes and tomatoes, you will not be afraid of phytophthora. Does the method really work? What else needs to be done in the spring to protect future plantings from late blight?

      - Trichodermin is inherently beneficial fungi that secrete antibiotics and inhibit the growth and development of harmful fungi, including phytophthora. But this is not a panacea, and in the described way it is impossible to guarantee 100% that the disease will not appear, although it will have much less chances.
Late blight develops well when it is humid and warm, with thickening of plantings, non-observance of crop rotation and cultivation of varieties unstable to disease.
