I grow cucumbers on a green plastic mesh trellis, I cover the ground around the stems with black spunbond. How often should you water them? How and when to feed the plants with this growing method? Are there any peculiarities in the care?

      - When growing plants using black spunbond mulch, the following regime is observed: if it is hot and sunny outside, watering is required every 3-4 days; if it's not very hot, once a week is enough. It should be fed weekly with a solution of a complex mineral fertilizer, for example, azofoski (1 tablespoon per 10 liters of water; 1-2 liters per plant). The more fruits on the plants, the more fertilizers can be added to the water, but not more than 3 tbsp.

Explain how to care for onions before harvesting so that they ripen better. I was advised to dig in the feathers. Should I do it? How is it correct?

      - Stop watering 3-4 weeks before harvesting the onions - this will help switch the plant to bulb ripening. In the absence of moisture in the soil, the feathers will dry out faster. If the weather is rather humid, you can limit the access of water by injuring the roots (slightly pull and turn the plant in the garden or cut the roots with a shovel). Forced dropping of feathers with earth will damage the neck of the bulb and the appearance of harmful microbes on the leaves. As a result, the crop will be poorly stored.

In the fall of 2014, a friend gave me several bulbs, and I planted it with bulbs from year to year.
I really like the Family bow: it is well stored, it does not go into the arrow, it is large enough, now I am different and I do not plant it.

But in the spring of 2019, I saw green sprouts in last year's garden - the bulb that remained in the winter sprouted, and four arrows bloomed and gave small seeds. The next spring, I sowed a nigella, from which an excellent sevok grew (see photo). Now every fall I plant a few bulbs in the winter for seeds.
Advice for those who want to quickly grow family onions: winter grows in an arrow. Maybe I missed it, but I don't remember anyone writing about it.
