PLUM - FLOWERS ARE BUT NO FRUIT ...
Every year my plum blossomed well, and that was it ... There were no ovaries, and consequently there was no harvest. I came up with a way to fix this situation, and last year I tried it.
Plums of most varieties are self-fertile or partially self-fertile, that is, for the formation of fruits, it is necessary for the pollen of one variety to fall on the flowers of another. In this case, the flowering period of the over-pollinated varieties must coincide.
Therefore, for a bountiful harvest, experts advise planting trees of at least four different varieties on the site. But where to get so many meters in the garden? Therefore, during the period of plum flowering, I went around the village and, with the permission of the neighbors, cut flowering branches of other varieties of plums, as well as cherry plums in their gardens.
Important! Cut branches from flowering pollinators cannot be transported and stored for more than an hour.
Received a "bouquet" slightly shaken over her tree and immediately put it in a container of water right under the drain. Then, to attract pollinating insects, she sprayed the crown with a honey solution (1 tablespoon honey per 1 liter of water). Within an hour, the tree was buzzing with bumblebees and bees. They conscientiously transferred pollen from the "bouquet" to plum flowers.
After a couple of weeks, I was happy to notice that the whole tree was in ovaries.
True, there were some mistakes. While I was preparing boxes for harvesting in anticipation of a mega harvest, this harvest attracted a more agile moth. Alas, I missed all the processing times. As a result, I got only 10% of the potential harvest. This year I will no longer allow such an oversight: before and after flowering, I will treat the plum with bioinsecticide (Lepidocid, Fitoverm).

In order not to walk around the neighbors in search of a "bouquet" of blooming plums, I advise you to plant the best pollinating varieties in the crown of a self-sterile variety of plums (in March-April).
