Growing tomatoes in beds in a greenhouse (Yaroslavl region)

PADS FOR TOMATOES IN THE GREENHOUSE - MY SCHEME - TOMATOES + PEPPERS + GREENS AND ONIONS
I also had a desire to share my own experience. And, perhaps, I'll start with a story about growing tomatoes and peppers in a 6xXNUMX m polycarbonate greenhouse, which my wife and I bought three years ago.
Inside, I marked out three beds: two side (for tomatoes) - 70 × 380 cm, central (for peppers) - 60 × 460 cm. However, I also provided them with several "pockets" for leaf parsley, lettuce and dill (these planting gives early greens, and I do not need to buy them in the store), as well as the Stuttgarten Riesen onions (see fig.).
The sides were made of boards 15 cm wide, which were treated with an anti-decay solution before installation.
In these boxes I have filled, so to speak, the main soil mixture, consisting of dead leaves (I brought them from the squares near the school and the yard area), on top of which sod land and soil from vegetable ridges are laid.
And for the pending planting of tomato and pepper seedlings, I prepare a separate special mixture from one bucket of sod land, two buckets of rotted compost and a bucket of sheep or horse droppings. After mixing all this, I add a little more purchased peat soil for greenhouses and ash. And I fill each planting hole dug in the garden with this mixture, which I then spill with warm water. After planting, I mulch all the seedlings with the same "special means".

SELECTION OF VARIETIES OF TOMATOES FOR GROWING IN A GREENHOUSE
The selection of non-misfire varieties of tomatoes and peppers is, of course, not an easy task. But, by the method of a long selection, I nevertheless found for myself those that delight not only me, but also all my friends and acquaintances.
Well, for example, Nikola's tomatoes. The height of the bushes is 80 cm, fruiting is abundant, early ripening, fruits of medium size and very tasty. The variety is also very good. Apparently invisibly: the height of the bushes is about 80-100 cm, the fruits are pink in color, large, in each cluster there are two or three pieces. Ripen two to three weeks later than Nikola.
Banana orange and Lel deserve a separate story. Their seeds lay in the box for several years, and two years ago, finally, I sowed them for testing. And I got a truly excellent result!
After that, he forever enrolled them in his tomato collection. Banana orange bushes grow to a height of more than two meters (I form them into two stems), and in each bunch there are six to eight fruits, elongated cylindrical, which, when ripe, acquire a pleasant orange color.
They taste sweet, so they are ideal for fresh salads, but very good for pickling. But at Lelya they look like pointed cylinders of red color with dense pulp. Moreover, small fruits, when pickled, perfectly replace cherry. The height of the bushes of this variety is about 60-70 cm. Last year I planted for the first time, alternating on the same bed, Lel and Banana orange, and thus I managed to avoid excessive thickening.
As for peppers, my favorite is the Orange King variety, which fully justifies its name. Last year, he gave such a generous harvest that he provided fruits even to all my friends. I took off the last peppers, still unripe, after September 20, because I was afraid of frost. I put these fruits in cardboard boxes, where they ripened on the balcony until mid-November.
AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT OF TOMATOES IN YAROSLAVKA REGION
Now I'll tell you about agricultural technology. In order to work out the techniques and their correct sequence, it also took a lot of time, but now, thanks to a verified algorithm, it is possible to obtain excellent yields and avoid lesions by late blight. And now even the strangest thing: what was difficult in such a technique? So:
When the trunks of the plants acquire a thickness of about 6-8 mm, I make punctures in them with an awl 15 cm from the roots and at an angle of 45 °, and insert pieces of copper wire 1,5-2 cm long into them.Copper ions, rising with the juice plants, give the effect of disinfection.
I regularly remove stepchildren and lower leaves. What does “regularly” mean? And about six to seven times during the season at intervals of 10-12 days. And I put all this cut organic matter under the bushes of currants, gooseberries, raspberries, as well as under the apple and plum trees. What for? And then, that stepchildren and tomato leaves disinfect the near-stem circles of plants.
On tomatoes in the first decade of August, I pinch the tops to stop plant growth and stimulate the ripening of small fruits.
After harvesting, I remove all the tops from the greenhouse. I loosen the beds well, cover them with a layer of combined soil 3-4 cm thick and sow the seeds of white mustard. It sprouts well, develops and goes for the winter in a vigorous form. In winter, I pour snow on the ridges with a layer of 25-30 cm.

I have the same question about the varieties of tomatoes for the greenhouse. I have it covered with a net, and the sides are completely open, but sometimes the temperature rises to 45-50 degrees. The pollen becomes sterile, and only that which bloomed earlier, below, manages to tie. Cucumbers grow better there than in an open pound, but not by much. So I think, do I need such a greenhouse? I have it homemade, in the spring I grow a variety of greens there.
