EARLY BLOSSOMING ROSES (MAY, BEGINNING OF JUNE)
At the end of spring, florist forums are covered by the "pink fever": residents of the southern regions boastfully show pictures of flowering rose bushes, the rest of the forum users are eagerly awaiting the appearance of the first buds and complain about the weather.
Of course, the period of flowering of a rose largely depends on climatic conditions, it is influenced by the safety of the buds, the general condition (health) of the bush. But there is another factor - the characteristics of the variety. A date with the queen of flowers will be brought closer by the planting of early-flowering varieties.
Maigold - the very name of the Maiskoe Gold variety suggests that this rose blooms very early, and its flowers have a delightful golden tone. The elongated buds, pointed at the ends, bloom to reveal apricot-copper petals with a golden underside. In the center of the flower, red stamens stand out. In the bright sun, the petals turn pale yellow, but in partial shade, the bright color remains.
The foliage of this climbing rose is pale green, has strongly serrated edges, prickly shoots, with thin long thorns.
J. P. Connell is a park variety, reaching a height of 1 m and growing to about the same width, straight shoots of the plant do not have thorns.
The early powerful flowering seems to envelop the bush with a continuous creamy-yellow blanket, during the second wave, individual flowers are formed mainly at the ends of the branches. Large (up to 9 cm in diameter) double yellow flowers fade over time, acquiring a lighter shade, but the central petals retain their rich color. When fully expanded, red stamens are visible in the center of the flower.
Cream Abundance belongs to the floribunda group. A dense, highly branching bush is characterized by a rather compact size and reaches a height of no more than 80 cm. Large leaves have a rich dark green color, powerful shoots keep flowers well in an upright position. Densely double flowers with a diameter of 6-8 cm are distinguished by a very regular rounded shape, their general background is cream, and towards the center the color is more intense, with a shade of pale yellow. In bright sun, creamy petals often fade and turn almost white. Cream Ebandance has a luxurious aroma that combines the scent of ripe apple and myrrh.
The disadvantage of this early variety can be attributed to the average resistance to rain: after heavy rainfall, brown spots sometimes appear on the petals. However, such an annoying phenomenon is not observed every year, and only with prolonged rains, which usually occur closer to the end of summer and early autumn.
Rumba (Rumba) - another early flowering variety, included in the floribunda group, strikes with an unusual color of flowers. At first, the opened buds show yellow flowers, over time, the outer petals become bright scarlet, and then darken, acquiring a crimson tone. This rose has no thorns, and the flowers have a pleasant aroma, which is compared to the scent of fresh apples.
Piano (Piano) belongs to the hybrid tea garden group of roses. Compact neat bushes grow up to 60-120 cm in height with an average diameter of about 60 cm. Very often, adult plants grow strongly in breadth, and the bush takes on a spherical shape.

The dense, dark green, glossy foliage is the perfect backdrop for bright red flowers, while the long, straight and strong flowering shoots are ideal for cutting.
The first buds can be seen on the bush in the second half of May, at the beginning of summer they slowly open into large peony flowers, the diameter of which sometimes reaches 12 cm. Even with the complete dissolution of a dense double flower, its core remains "hidden by petals, densely filling the central part. In the rich sweetish aroma of flowers, fruity notes are guessed.
Ritausma is a scrub variety created by Latvian breeders. It has a high winter hardiness, many growers note its ability to winter in the middle lane without shelter.
When planting, it is important to take into account that Ritausma forms a very sprawling wide bush with a height of more than 1,5 m with thorny shoots. Several plants planted side by side, without regular pruning, can create impenetrable thickets.
The foliage is light green, wrinkled, with a glossy sheen, does not turn yellow and does not fall off until late autumn. The flowers are delicate, as if luminous, porcelain-pink in color, moderately double, but look quite lush thanks to the wavy edge of the petals. A cup-shaped flower, when fully expanded, reaches a diameter of 7-8 cm and demonstrates its graceful guilt-heart.
Mary Magdalene is an English rose bred by the originator David Austin. The bush is about 1 m high and about the same width, with drooping shoots.
The foliage is small, matte, bright green, the edges of young leaves with a red tint. Densely double cup-shaped flowers reach a diameter of 6-8 cm. In semi-release, pearl-pink with a coral center, but quickly fade to a pale pink hue or acquire an ivory color. They have a strong, rich aroma combining the scent of rose oil and myrrh.
COMPANIONS FOR EARLY ROSES
A common mistake of many flower growers is to focus only on the beauty of a flowering plant when planning a future rose garden. But it is worth thinking about the fact that in the fall the roses will have to be covered, which will require a certain space. And most importantly - in the spring, when the shelters are removed, the view of the rose bushes will not be too presentable for some time. The simplest solution is to plant roses embedded in the plane of the lawn. But in this case, do not forget to regularly "beat off the edges", cutting off the edge of the turf that is losing clarity with a sharply sharpened shovel.
So that the rose garden does not look depressing at the beginning of the season, plant spring bulbs next to the roses (but not under cover). It is best to choose daffodils and botanical tulips that do not require annual digging. And among companion plants with the same flowering periods as in early roses, there are irises, common catchment, cypress euphorbia, milk-flowered peony.
ROSES NEED A LOT OF WATERING FOR EARLY FLOWERING
Roses have a deep root system, and the plant will be able to obtain moisture for life, even if it is not watered, deceived by the fresh appearance of the foliage. But for good flowering water may not be enough. In spring and summer, watering should be abundant. Frequent and superficial, wetting only the top layer of the soil are not suitable: water will still not reach the deep roots, and the plant will still miss it.
In addition, surface roots are formed in the waterlogged upper layer, which will be regularly damaged by loosening.
In no case should the water for the rose be cold, the roots suck it worse.
There is even such a concept as "physiological dryness" - there is a lot of moisture in the soil, but the plant cannot receive it. But the lack of water is still half the trouble, the rose can put up with it. The main problem is that inoperative roots in moist soil begin to rot, and the plant begins to ache.
