Shrub amorph (photo) - growing and care
AMORPH FLOWERING SHRUB - GROWING
Several years ago, in the fall, I bought at the market a root of what I was told at the time of purple wisteria. And in the spring, when uncharacteristic elongated shoots with leaves appeared, it turned out that this is a completely different plant - shrub amorph.
The culture belongs to deciduous shrubs of the legume family - a species of acacia native to North America. The plant is frost-resistant in our area. Loves sunny places, drought tolerant and not demanding on the soil.
On the site, the amorph takes up a little space and reaches a height of 2 m. It builds up a dense crown of graceful oval leaves (when rubbed, it smells like essential oil). And what unusual inflorescences she has!
They resemble spikelets up to 15 cm long, consisting of small fragrant flowers. And a special "touch" - bright yellow stamens. The amorph blooms annually and abundantly from mid-June and throughout the month. And by September, in place of the chic inflorescences, miniature curved beans ripen.
The plant lays flower buds on the shoots of the current year, so in early spring I cut them by 1/3, forming a bush, and also remove damaged and dry branches.
For reproduction in spring or autumn, I dig a groove next to the bush, put a strong lower stem in it, fix it with a metal bracket, sprinkle it with earth and sand, leaving the end of the shoot with two buds on the surface.
After a year and a half, I separate the layers from the mother plant with a pruner and plant in a new place. I feed them once a month with complex mineral fertilizers, alternating them with organic fertilizers (chicken droppings, 1:20).
FOR FIGHTING Aphids ON AMORPHE
I grind 400 g of horse sorrel leaves, pour 10 liters of boiling water, let it brew, cool, filter and spray the plants.
In 0,5 liters of water I add 1 tbsp. l. liquid green soap, 1 tsp. vegetable oil and 3 minced garlic cloves. I insist, filter, process the bushes on the leaves.
