PEACH BONE - SOFT WITH PULP, WHOLE
My first peach was given to me 30 years ago by a neighbor. I put him under the windows of my apartment. A few years later, in the spring, it bloomed with delicate pink flowers: on one of the branches, nine flowers looked at me in surprise. Seven fruits began to form, two crumbled, and five grew, poured, increased in size - a blush was already flaring on their sides. It’s a pity, we didn’t manage to try: someone liked them a lot ...
My father and I dug up a tree in early spring and transported it to our dacha. Oddly enough, it tolerated the transplant well. It was later that I learned from my neighbors, summer residents, that peaches and apricots are not only possible, but simply need to be transplanted once or twice: this increases the yield and improves the quality of the fruits.
And in that distant 1991, when we had a dacha, there was no literature, we had to look for answers to all the questions that arose. It's good if the venerable summer residents could suggest something.
I myself grew up in the city, for the summer I was taken to my grandmother in Ukraine, but also in the city, and I had no idea how and what to grow. Until I started visiting the reading room after work in the winter. The librarians remembered me, and in the evenings there were magazines waiting for me, where I found answers to my questions. The notes that I took in the library have migrated to the dacha, and I still trust them more than the Internet.
But back to the peaches. I love growing seed and seed trees. It turned out well with apricots and apple trees, so fate itself ordered to get peach seedlings. Started on
cages, and I was faced with an unpleasant moment. She planted seeds of local varieties, which she acquired at the bazaar, germination rate -3-4 pieces out of 10. Luxurious store Iranian and Turkish. the peaches did not want to sprout at all. I couldn't find the answer.
Of course, those seedlings that began to bear fruit after two or three years were enough for our family. In the first year of flowering, there are 5-20 fruits on the tree, and the next season you already remove it with buckets. Alas, we did not enjoy our peaches for long, so tender and juicy that sometimes it was difficult to bring them from the dacha - they put them in buckets with crumpled paper so as not to wrinkle.
The fact is that after 6-7 years of fruiting, the upper branches of the peach begin to dry. I immediately cut out diseased branches to healthy tissue, process them with vitriol and cover them with garden var. But that doesn't help. The first peach was cut flush with the ground and immediately burned. She did not uproot, planted it next to the stump to cover it with the buddley that she had acquired in the spring. It bloomed sweetly all summer, attracting a lot of butterflies to itself, next spring it started to grow again, but ... But it turned out that this peach stump did not resign itself, and its shoots began to grow rapidly, and the tender buddlea did not survive the winter and froze. Leaves in both plants
Can peaches not ripe enough to ripen at home? Quite! To do this, they must be placed in a craft bag: thanks to the paper, the fruits will begin to release ethylene, while retaining moisture. The package should be placed in a dry, warm place for a day and the degree of ripeness should be checked periodically. If the day is not enough, you can leave the fruit in the bag for another 12-15 hours. Never put peaches in a plastic bag - the fruits will spoil immediately!
very similar, and I did not notice the catch. The new peach, as it were, formed itself by the bush, bloomed in the 20th of April and then gave a harvest. The fruits were larger than the ones I removed from him when he was growing as a tree.

PLANT PEACH WHOLE - WITH PULP
At work, a colleague brought his peaches from the dacha and treated the employees. He somehow stood out among our drivers and assistants for his accuracy and intelligence. Half German, he gave me an amazing advice: the seeds should be planted together with the pulp, i.e. whole fruit, and treated me to late large peaches for planting.
Arriving at the dacha, I prepared a place for planting a peach, but the fruits were so beautiful that I could not resist and ate them ... But I was not at a loss. I immediately gathered my peaches, cut them, inserted the seeds from the donated ones and planted them: I made a furrow with a hoe, spilled water from the teapot, spread the fruits and covered them with dry earth.
In the spring of next year, germination rate was 100%.
In the fall, I planted the seedlings in a permanent place in front of the hozblok: he covered them from the north wind. And now in my country house two types of peaches are bearing fruit.
One variety begins to ripen in early August. It is a little smaller, but so elegant, red-sided, juicy, fragrant, it just asks for a mouthful. It ripens unevenly, which I really like: you pick it up during August and September, and immediately on the table!
The second grade, donated by a colleague, late, large, light green, with a slight blush. But just as delicious! Bears fruit in September. And no store-bought "oak" peach can compare to my taste.
Seedlings retain their parent's appearance and taste. For the winter, I mulch the soil around the trunks with cut lily stems, daisies and other plants, and in the spring I compost the mulch. Peach flowers bloom later than apple and pear trees and are resistant to frost, and if recurrent frosts occur, they endure cold snaps down to -5,5 °, while the apple tree is not lower than -2 °.
Dear southerner readers, plant peaches with seeds, it is not difficult, but the pleasure is great.
