GIVING OWN HANDS
In 1989, my husband and I bought a garden plot, and my father gave us this scoop (see photo), which he made himself. The father has been gone for a long time, and the husband, too, is gone. And I use this scoop to this day, it is universal: it is easy for them to plant seedlings, weeding is not a problem. I even wrapped it with red tape: if I leave it in the garden, now it's easy to see.
Men, make such a scoop for your women! It is easy to do: just cut it out of steel from the washing machine. I am attaching a pattern with dimensions. You will forget about all other tools, it is very convenient!
I wish everyone a bright sunny summer, more rains and rich harvests!

IRRIGATION "FROM THE STREET"
I decided to write for the first time. I'll tell you about planting tomatoes in a greenhouse without a foundation.
I dig holes close to the wall, dig into the street (it is possible from the street, if there is no warm bed in the greenhouse.
What I add to the hole and what I water, I don’t write - everyone does it differently.
I take a sprout out of the glass, lay it down, fall asleep (roots under the wall). I water it outside. As a result, the humidity is much lower, and the middle is well ventilated. I pull on the old tulle on top.
In the photo, I and my beloved honeysuckle.

On the eve of the new gardening season, I decided to talk about my faithful assistant.
About ten years ago, I got my hands on this hoe, and since then I have not parted with it - a very convenient tool. I don’t take a shovel in my hands, I don’t dig a garden, I process it with a pitchfork or this chuck. Result? All my helper worms are safe, the ground is loose, the harvest is good.
In the fall, after harvesting, I put all the organic matter on the ridges - grass, hay, cleaning, - I sprinkle it with earth with a spade, and it all goes away
before winter. In the spring, you just need to correct the edges of the ridges - and everything is ready for planting.
Looking at me, the neighbor also began to work as such a hoe - and she is very happy. Still would! You don't have to bend down, your back is always straight.
A little bit about yourself. I am retired but still working. A vegetable garden of 6,5 acres and a garden near the house - work for me is a joy.

OWN HAND GIVING - THREE TIPS
For three years in a row, she sowed mustard and phacelia between the rows of potatoes. After they dug up the potatoes, they dug up the ground again and sowed them again. It turns out that seeds were bought twice. Last year we decided not to plow. And what do you think? Phacelia ascended in such beautiful rows - a feast for the eyes! And even bloomed in the fall. It turns out that in the fall there is no need to sow green manure - they will sprout by self-sowing.
Last year, some kind of white moth started up on the cabbage. Why didn’t we poison her with our neighbors - no point! And a thought occurred to me. She took tobacco dust and ash, mixed it, and in the morning sprinkled cabbage abundantly over the dew. It helped! For prevention, I walked again.
About fighting slugs. I tried all sorts of methods - nothing helped. On the advice, sprinkled the ground between the rows of peppers with soda. Poured abundantly, trying not to fall on the stems. And last year I was with pepper.
Finally, I would like to argue with V.V. Devyatova. She was disappointed in the mixed planting of onions and carrots, citing the fact that the carrots need to be watered almost until autumn, and this harms the onions. Why such a long watering? A couple of months is enough. From abundant watering, the carrot bursts (cracks). Verified by personal experience.
That seems to be all. Good health, good harvests and all the best to everyone.

Once I saw a fabulously beautiful little pond in a magazine and literally caught fire with this idea.
I invited a neighbor, he dug me a hole 2 × 4 m 1,2 m deep. Then I bought a pond project, connected all my friends to find lotuses and water lilies. I bought a film, brought large and small stones, connected the water, made a waterfall. According to the project, she planted lotuses in April, and in May they have already bloomed. The first year there were only six of them, now it is already 19. It is a miracle that cannot be described: friends come, admire, take photos and enjoy life.
This is my corner of happiness. Lilies of the valley, tulips, peonies, roses and other flowers are blooming around. When you see this beauty, you forget about diseases and feel young!

THREE OWN HAND GIVING DEVICES
Last year I got up near a barrel of water and thought: how can I water the greenhouse if I can't lift more than 4 kg after the operation?
And go to your locksmith: what if a thought dawns? And for sure! From all the remains, I built a cart - one axle, two wheels, a box and a handle. He put in eight five-liter bottles, poured water through the hose and rolled it easily. I even sang with joy!
So, with watering, the issue was resolved. How to weed carrots? The grass is a carpet, but you can't bend over. I made a small bench from thin-walled pipes along the width of the bed. I sharpened the edges by the trowel and, sitting on the bench, cut the grass with this trowel and shook it out onto the paths. The main thing is not to move the carrot, otherwise it will grow into a centipede. I spent two days on everything, although the bed is long.
It's time to weed the potatoes! The chopper and the flat cutter are not for me again. In the locksmith, I built a coulter from an old bayonet shovel with a long handle. I tried to weed, but I couldn't - it hurts. Then I attached two plastic wheels from a baby carriage to the opener and weeded all the potatoes easily, and the depth of weeding was adjusted by the angle of inclination of the handle. Imagine how much effort it takes to pick up the hoe and then hit! And then know to roll the opener at arm's length!
I will share the dimensions of this: the width of the opener is 240 mm, the wheels are 140 mm in diameter, the length of the pipe segment for attaching the opener and wheels is 220 mm, and its diameter is 20 mm. He flattened the end of the pipe near the coulter and bent it so that it lay horizontally. I inserted another pipe (1 m long) into the first one and bent it near the wheels to the right so that this handle was at my right side at the height of my belt.
I think that in photos 1 and 2 everything is clearly visible (I will already adjust mine and check it before the start of the season). And I attached a washer with a diameter of 60 mm to a digger bought in a store for planting potatoes (photo 3), and now the earth does not crumble into holes.

I want to share with summer residents the experience of scaring away birds from pouring strawberries.
To do this, you will need old DVDs, thick silk thread and metal reinforcement with a diameter of 8-10 mm and a length of 1-1,2 m. The reinforcement bars must be stuck into the ground at an angle of 60 ° and the discs must be tied to them with laces. The main thing is that the disks do not reach about 15-20 cm to the tops of the bushes. Of course, you do not need to stick twigs near every plant. If the beds are not too long, then only two or three such "scarecrows" can be installed on each. And they are very effective! After all, the disks begin to rotate even from the slightest breath of wind, scattering sheaves of glare of different colors around, which instantly scares the birds away. Now not a single berry disappears from me.

SEEDLING IN "AVOSKI"
Every little victory in the garden is a huge joy. Especially when you are 31 years old and you are just comprehending what is really important in your country life.
For example, the fight against a bear. This pest is the most nasty: it destroys first of all those plants that are weaker, i.e. planted seedlings. Last year, her planting had to be moved to a later period, as her husband was covering the greenhouse with polycarbonate. In the meantime, he was busy and while the plants were tolerated, I figured out how to avoid the invasion of the bear.
I scribbled old tulle bags on a typewriter, filled them with earth and transplanted tomatoes into them. And then all the "tulle" seedlings were placed in bags. I looked - it turned out well. And then I did the same with cucumbers and peppers. What is the secret here?
And the fact that tulle bags prevent the bear from reaching the tender roots of young plants. And it is very easy to plant such seedlings on the beds, there is no fuss.
Ask if it helped me? But how! Everything grew, blossomed and bore fruit. And for the first time there were no losses due to the bear! The same bags helped to preserve the bulbs of lilies (which gave many children by autumn) and gladioli.
True, at the end of the season, a flaw in my venture was revealed: the roots of the plants, when they were thin, easily passed through the holes of the tulle, but then they began to become thicker, and the bags began to interfere with them. As a result, thickenings appeared on the roots. Although, on the other hand, I did not notice that this in any way affected the yield and well-being of the plantings. However, this year, for the sake of experiment, I will try to transplant part of the seedlings into gauze bags.
